Happy talk optimist Dick Cheney says it’s worse now than before 9/11. He spoke with Bill Kristol, who applauded Cheney for his “model” public service.

Cheney surveyed the world — particulary the Middle East — and expressed concern about Iran getting nuclear weapons. If that happens, Cheney predicted, many other countries in the region would quickly acquire nuclear weapons, too.

“So we’re in a very dangerous period and I think it’s more threatening than the period before 9/11,” Cheney predicted. “I think 9/11 will turn out to be not nearly as bad as the next mass casualty attack against the United States–which, if and when it comes, will be with something far deadlier than [with] airline tickets and box cutters.”

Cheney defended the so-called enhanced interrogation techniques–specifically, waterboarding–used by the Bush administration to help save American lives, as well as the NSA program. He also talked about how congressional leaders, such as Nancy Pelosi, all privately signed off on the programs — and implored the Bush administration not to bring it to Capitol Hill for discussion.[su_csky_ad]

He’s right about us being less safe, but he’s wrong about why. He and his co-war-criminal GW Bush are why.

Grrrrrrrrr! Why does this man always look as though he is in desperate need of a laxative?

    • mea_mark October 13th, 2014 at 1:13 pm

      Because he is.

I originally wanted to say false, because:

“War And Violence On The Decline In Modern Times”
    http://www.npr.org/2011/12/07/143285836/war-and-violence-on-the-decline-in-modern-times
“Crime rates in the developed world have plummeted over the last few decades, startling new figures have revealed.”

    However,

Please fill me in as I’m not familiar with the “waterboarding used to save american lives”. I only know about the waterboarding used to make us ashamed of our country and recruit terrorists.

  6. tiredoftea October 13th, 2014 at 1:34 pm

“Cheney defended the so-called enhanced interrogation techniques–specifically, waterboarding…” and, this pathetic excuse for a human being will continue defending torture until he’s indicting, jailed and put on trial for war crimes and crimes against humanity, along with the rest of the criminal thugs of W’s administration.

When the very profitable war machine thrives on instability there will be people in this world that will seek to create that instability. Spreading unnecessary fear like the republicans are is helping to create that instability. If we want a safer world to live in we need to take away the power of those that spread unnecessary fear. There are enough real problems to deal with, we don’t need to create more just to make a buck.

Isn’t his huge golden parachute linked to the war profits of Halliburton?

  8. Bunya October 13th, 2014 at 1:45 pm

Yes Dickie, the world IS worse now than before 9/11, thanks to your administration. By the way, how many times have we been attacked since 9/11?

Whenever I think of Dick Cheney, I recall the words of Dick Cavett who, upon hearing of the death of David Frost said, “Why is it never Dick Cheney?”

  10. Ol Blue October 13th, 2014 at 2:37 pm

If Dracula came back, he would tell Dick to tone it down a bit. He’s giving vampires a bad name.

    • Suzanne McFly October 13th, 2014 at 4:06 pm

Vampires have sex appeal, cheney is more of a blob type of a creature.

  11. Ol Blue October 13th, 2014 at 2:39 pm

My comment is waiting for approval. Hey, I’m pretty sure I capitalized “Dick”.

    • mea_mark October 13th, 2014 at 3:40 pm

      Capitalizing doesn’t help.

I wonder how he will feel when the United States and Iran partner to fight ISIS. Will his pointy little head explode?

      • KB723 October 13th, 2014 at 4:24 pm

That would be Great Viewing!!!! =)

What is with this pending comments?!

    • mea_mark October 13th, 2014 at 3:39 pm

Try spelling D!ck like this and it won’t go to pending. I am trying to get that name/word removed from language filters but it is not my call.

      • Ol Blue October 13th, 2014 at 4:04 pm

        Thanks for the tip!

      • forpeace October 13th, 2014 at 4:14 pm

Thank you so much for the response. 😉

I used to type his name “D!ck” or in some other forms for 7+ years posting on Huffington Post! lol

I hope they remove that name from the filter very soon, so it won’t remind me of my past commenting in “codes.”

Like Bush and Murder Inc. made this a safer place….

  16. Budda October 13th, 2014 at 4:39 pm

Who let him out of his bunker again?

    • Dwendt44 October 13th, 2014 at 7:18 pm

The padded walls needed re-padding. the color clashed with his eyes.

  17. mahogma October 13th, 2014 at 4:42 pm

In an act of appeasement, would it help if we tried Big Dick as a war criminal? It’s certainly worth a try.

  18. mea_mark October 13th, 2014 at 7:32 pm

I think the thought police are onto us, your comment was in pending. We may need better code.

    • Ol Blue October 13th, 2014 at 8:57 pm

      How about “Duck”? Duck Cheney.

  19. AnthonyLook October 13th, 2014 at 8:21 pm

Bringing out War Mongering Cheney this early, before election day is a clear indication of GOP desperation. His highness usually reserves the last week before an election to do his Halloween best.

  20. Par4thecourse October 14th, 2014 at 9:02 am

    Doctor Death Cheney
