[su_right_ad]Florida Governor Rick Scott was upset because he saw that Charlie Crist had a fan below the podium and the debate rules banned fans.

“We have been told Governor Scott will not be participating in this debate,” CBS moderator Elliott Rodriguez said. “Now, let me explain what this is all about. Governor Crist has asked to have a fan, a small fan, placed underneath his podium. The rules of the debate that I was shown by the Scott campaign said that there should be no fan. Somehow there is a fan there and for that reason, ladies and gentlemen, Governor Scott will not join us for the debate.”

The announcement was met with jeers and boos from the crowd…

Debate panelist Rosemary Goudreau of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel asked Crist if he was aware of the fan rule. “Are we really going to debate about a fan or are we going to talk about education, and the environment, and the future of our state? I mean, really,” Crist said as the moderators struggled to keep the debate from turning into “a platform for one candidate.”

“I mean, if he’s going to give it to me, I’m going to take it!” Crist laughed. Shortly after Crist began speaking, Rodriguez announced that Scott had changed his mind.

I thought the rule was “no electronics,” nothing specific about no fans. Of course, a fan isn’t electronic, it’s electric, but it appears that Rick Scott doesn’t know that.

Scott has proven over and over again what an idiot he is and must be stopped in his tracks!! I’m early voting for Charlie Crist!!

Fan was specifically mentioned, no fans, in the rules. I’m not sure why, so long as the fan is quiet.

Crist frequently requests a fan under his lectern. Scott’s people know this, and asked for the rule to be d!cks about it.

There are 2 issues in my view:
          1. A rule is a rule. If agreed to, stick to it.
          2. Why not allow the other to have a fan in 1st place, meaning why make it a rule.
What I don’t understand is why ask for no fan as a rule, that’s weird in my view in the first place. Unless its obnoxiously loud(I actually have the fan shown in a pic of the podium w/fan at base, several of them, use them to blow across my computer decks, mine are quiet).

This is Rickie Scott in a nutshell folks. Fans have nothing to do with the debate itself but… imo… Rickie was looking for something (anything) to get out of the debate. Aren’t they allowed to have water on stage? Yes. Shouldn’t the debaters be allowed to be comfortable? Yes. Scott tried his best to divert attention away from the debate but lost. For the love of God and country this man cannot be re-elected Florida!!!

    No, no…all wrong people!
Scott simply mis-understood when he was told that Crist had a small fan under his podium blowing on him, and he wanted his own horny dwarf!
    Fair is fair, after all!
(I’m gonna burn for this remark…)

When I read this yesterday at another blog, I thought it was from The Onion. I had to read the article three or four times to ensure I was reading what I thought I was reading. It still hasn’t sunk in yet, that a sitting governor/politician wants to cancel a debate because of a fan! Yet, allegedly, this race is VERY close. WTF!!! After last night, Crist should get s bounce of 20 points. He won’t, but he should.

Just this morning I saw an ad, for the first time, of Jebbie acclaiming the merits and great leadership of Scott…both he and Scott should be ridden out of this state with adequate tar and featherin”, as they have stripped regulations, screwed students and consumers, and awarded a bounty of funds to privatize, over develop, and make special projects for the wealthy (Scott turned down much need funds for high speed rail, but just granted billions of dollars to build extra lanes on existing highways for those who would pay high fees for usage,)
Scott is not just a crook, liar, and right wing fanatic, but he is a real ghoul….

Scott did something similar in the 1990 debate with Alex Sink. Sink used a break in the debate to call a family member about some issue and Scott threatened not to resume the proceedings, later made a big campaign deal out of it, implying Sink was getting input from her aides and had lied about who she was talking to. For a supposedly hard hitting CEO, Scott seems remarkably petulant,
