[su_right_ad]Let’s just take all the scary things going on right now and roll them up in a big, poisonous ball and scare everyone, okay?

On Wednesday, Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) joined the Psychotropic Muslim Ebola Fear Vortex by suggesting the worst possible scenario, created from words drawn from a hat: ISIS militants using ebola to do the terrorism.

“It’s certainly something I’ve been thinking about ever since this Ebola outbreak started,” Johnson said on Newsmax TV. “You really don’t even want to think about, you really don’t even want to talk about, but we should do everything possible to defend ourselves against that possibility because I think that is a real and present danger.”

    Evidence please.

    • Larry Schmitt October 17th, 2014 at 5:19 pm

Yes, I was going to ask what proof this loony has. I was actually going to listen to the clip, until I saw “Newsmax TV.” That’s all I need to see. When did they learn how to make videos?

    • GreatLakeSailor October 17th, 2014 at 9:44 pm

      And spoil the Fact-Free Fright!?!?!?

  2. Carla Akins October 17th, 2014 at 5:02 pm

Has he even considered the logistics of this “threat”?

    • R.J. Carter October 17th, 2014 at 5:04 pm

Just pop some ibuprofen to knock the fever down before you get on the plane.

Then get over here, start throwing up, coughing on people. And if you do it within the next two weeks, end the spree by voting Democrat. 🙂

      • edmeyer_able October 17th, 2014 at 5:08 pm

In actuality it wouldn’t even be that difficult. j/s

      • Carla Akins October 17th, 2014 at 5:13 pm

Volunteering to blow yourself up is essentially painless and quick. Committing to Ebola, swapping bodily fluids, slow painful death – yeah I don’t see it would be a good way to commit an act of terror.

        • edmeyer_able October 17th, 2014 at 5:16 pm

They wouldn’t have to contract the disease in order to carry out an attack. Collecting the fluids and spraying them in a airliner or airport restroom would probably be sufficient.

          • mea_mark October 17th, 2014 at 5:42 pm

I wonder how long the virus would survive in a bottle. It is relatively easy to kill from what I understand. It might need special conditions to remain active for very long and be transported without a host carrier, I really don’t know.

          • edmeyer_able October 17th, 2014 at 5:45 pm

I have no info on that either but the number of times they disinfected that plane the 2nd nurse was on and then decided to rip out the interior gives me some idea that in a warm solution it could remain active for awhile.

          • mea_mark October 17th, 2014 at 5:57 pm

I think there is an overabundance of caution right now because of fear and lack of knowledge. Using it as a weapon maybe a lot more problematic then people realize.

          • edmeyer_able October 17th, 2014 at 5:58 pm

Let us pray that you’re right.

          • eyelashviper October 17th, 2014 at 6:46 pm

This virus has been studied for 40 years and any scientist familiar with it will say that it’s usage as any kind of bio terror is near impossible.

          • tracey marie October 17th, 2014 at 6:28 pm

It has to be in blood to survive for hours. On a hard surface the humidity must be at 40% and the temp at a minimum of 40C

          • eyelashviper October 17th, 2014 at 6:45 pm

It needs a live host, and does not survive in water..just more fear mongering and anti-science drivel.

          • edmeyer_able October 17th, 2014 at 6:48 pm

Wasn’t it spread by people eating dead fruit bats? I thought I read that or heard it on MSM.

          • mea_mark October 17th, 2014 at 6:52 pm

I heard bats and apes are host carriers.

            Transmission

It is thought that fruit bats of the Pteropodidae family are natural Ebola virus hosts.

          • eyelashviper October 17th, 2014 at 7:08 pm

The virus can survive in meat for a brief period. No one really is completely sure of the origin of Ebola, but there is a lot of conjecture, and assumptions, mostly to try to isolate any hosts or means of infection.

          • edmeyer_able October 17th, 2014 at 7:14 pm

And what would happen if it was injected into raw beef and frozen?
Don’t get me wrong I don’t believe infected people are crossing our borders with the intent of spreading this virus, but thinking outside the box like someone with the intent on doing us harm might think.

          • eyelashviper October 17th, 2014 at 7:18 pm

It is a virus, a living thing, and freezing would kill it. The scientists studying ebola have been on top of all issues, including transmission, it’s viability, and have also been working on a vaccine. These “”hot” viruses are fairly unique, but they also burn out quickly, and if no host is available, they die.
If you have not read “The Hot Zone”, it is fascinating, informative, and keeps you interested, a real suspenseful story, and it’s all true.

          • eyelashviper October 17th, 2014 at 7:23 pm

I also forgot to mention that it does survive for awhile in a corpse, and that is why workers who deal with deceased victims must also wear the required protective gear. In Africa they seem to be burning the corpses, which is preferred, as it immediately kills any virus remaining.

          • edmeyer_able October 17th, 2014 at 7:25 pm

CNN just reported one plane that 2nd nurse was on was disinfected 9 times now. Seems like no one wants to say when is enough enough.

          • eyelashviper October 17th, 2014 at 7:27 pm

I think that the airline is worried about it’s image and wants to diminish any fear…it is overkill. Chlorine kills this virus.

          • mea_mark October 17th, 2014 at 7:43 pm

That is exactly what I am thinking. The bottom line for the airline is that they need to be seen doing everything imaginable so people will continue to fly. Parked air planes lose lots of money very fast.

          • Carla Akins October 17th, 2014 at 7:14 pm

Oh sorry, that was AIDS not Ebola 🙂

      • rg9rts October 18th, 2014 at 5:27 am

As I told Mr Ghue ….your meds are on the top shelf….notice that the fearmonger is from your precious gopee…….McCain wants to invade Ebola

    • whatthe46 October 17th, 2014 at 6:15 pm

      short answer: NO.

    • eyelashviper October 17th, 2014 at 6:44 pm

“logistics”….does not compute in such beings, nor does logic, facts, and anything that might relate to Obama.

    • rg9rts October 18th, 2014 at 5:25 am

You are assuming that he can think beyond the FAUX sound bite

  3. mea_mark October 17th, 2014 at 5:08 pm

In order for them to even have access to ebola virus it means someones has to have it. If someone in ISIS has it, it is likely to spread within their organization if they aren’t extremely careful and could do more damage to them, than to us. On the bright side ebola will probably end within the ranks of ISIS eventually and may take care of them as a problem in the world. I don’t see too many countries and people that are going to want to help them.

    • Mr Ghue October 17th, 2014 at 5:23 pm

There are illegals from muslim and African countries crossing our southern border all the time. It would be nothing for a few guys to take a trip through Africa and then go to Mexico and pay a coyote the $2000 to get across. Then it would just be a matter of taking a greyhound bus across the country. Maybe get to Boston and get on the subway before it became apparently obvious with blood and vomit spewing from every orifice.

      • mea_mark October 17th, 2014 at 5:37 pm

That is probably harder to do than you think and the coyotes maybe on the look out for that themselves as they don’t want to sacrifice themselves for nothing. Getting on a plane to Mexico while sick could be hard then getting to the border could take time, heck they could die before they ever got to the border. I see all sorts of problems with that plan. Mainly lack of help from others that don’t want to die for someone else’s cause.

        • whatthe46 October 17th, 2014 at 6:14 pm

you see problems? yeah, like these people have a big bank account. the paranoid act as though Africa is a “Greyhound” trip away. there’s no fk’n bridge from Africa to Mexico, LOL. Mea, i think Mr. Ghue should get a clue. that paranoia will surely drive him nuts. i so prefer sanity.

          • Mr Ghue October 18th, 2014 at 8:25 am

It’s in the numbers sparky. I live and work in the real world while you sleep in your bed at night. I am privy to more information than the average citizen keyboard warrior.

          • Carla Akins October 18th, 2014 at 8:36 am

What exactly do you “do” in the real world that makes you think you have better information than Mea_Mark that actually resides in Texas or me with my husband in the DOJ? I’m going to bet all of us sleep in our beds at night – you comment makes no sense.

          • Mr Ghue October 18th, 2014 at 8:32 am

“like these people have a big bank account.” I guess you missed the story of the branch of the world bank ISIS seized in Iraq or Syria. They have stacks of cash and are as well if not better funded than Al Qaeda ever was…

        • Mr Ghue October 18th, 2014 at 8:30 am

The blankets and mattresses that were stolen from the Ebola clinic could be packaged and brought over. The first onset of mild symptoms is how many days from contraction to contagion? All one has to do is have the contaminated materials to contract the disease in Mexico or here. It’s only a day’s flight across the Atlantic.

      • forpeace October 17th, 2014 at 6:11 pm

“There are illegals from muslim and African countries crossing our southern border all the time…………”

Can you back every single thing in your comment?

Or, maybe you should stop watching too many video games.

        • Mr Ghue October 18th, 2014 at 8:23 am

Google would be your friend. I have read about it, and seen it on the show Border wars, where a few of those crossing they picked up were Pakistani. I have seen stats from DHS that said that they picked up 2 or 4 from Liberia alone last year. So with the drug numbers that obviously make it through, anyone with a little common sense and reasoning would deduct that the numbers of those crossing are much higher than those interdicted.

        Congrats, you did it!!

      • fahvel October 18th, 2014 at 4:00 am

your mind and those who agree with what it pukes out are more dangerous and toxic to the usa than all the sad ebola victims combined – you should be ashamed of you ignorance but that is asking a lot – so sorry.

One more time the ignorant GOTPers are making baseless statements without being able to back up their nonsense, they are trying to “kill two birds with one stone.”

    Muslims and Immigrants.

This is for both anchor of Newsmax TV. and Ron Johnson:

    • Mr Ghue October 18th, 2014 at 8:34 am

Ignorance is bliss for the close minded who couldn’t bear the fact that their government would tell them a lie…If you like your policy you can keep it.

      • Carla Akins October 18th, 2014 at 8:37 am

It’s not that they don’t lie to us but to what end? What purpose would this serve?

  6. eyelashviper October 17th, 2014 at 6:41 pm

“Psychotropic Muslim Ebola Fear Vortex”…nice, a concise description of an apparently crippling disease that leaves the victims frothing, hysterical, and devoid of any sentient thought.

I liked it so much I sent it to RoJo (embarrassingly, he’s one of my Senators }:-(

  9. edmeyer_able October 18th, 2014 at 8:31 am

The question was asked in a news conference,by a Fox reporter BTW, if ebola could be turned into a biological weapon. The answer was “NO.” There were no follow-up questions on that topic. IDK

  10. Obewon October 18th, 2014 at 9:08 am

These are Gohmert’s “Terror babies” rigged to explode in 18 years, right? Any infected with Ebola are cured and immune, or dead within 21 days from first Ebola contact.

  11. Robert Merrill Taylor October 18th, 2014 at 4:10 pm

    Johnson/Gohmert in 2016!
