A Republican candidate in South Carolina wrote a Facebook post urging voters not to support Rep James Clyburn (D) who  he says,'”OPENLY” supports same sex “marriage”.’ I suppose he means in contrast to secretly supporting equal rights.

Anthony Culler wrote of the “a pestilence that has descended on our society, against our will, by those in the courts and government that do not value the traditional family.”

[su_center_ad]The Hill tagged the post in which he which refers to gay couples as “gremlins” and “bullies.”

“Same sex couples that seek to destroy our way of life and the institution of marriage are NOT cute and cuddly but rather (for those of you that are old enough to remember the movie), Gremlins that will only destroy our way of life,” he wrote.

IKR? Don’t we all want to cuddle gay couples?

“These people are bullies and now that they are winning their true and hateful nature is much easier to see and hear,” he wrote.

Culler went on to declare that gays have  “a strong tendency for substance abuse,” and urged his readers to avoid the “‘over the top’ and ‘anything goes’ ceremonies or parties that these people revel in.”

“Stand against this and we will reverse it and drive it back into the darkness,” he writes.

The Hill reports:

Culler is not well-liked by the GOP establishment in South Carolina, and has no chance of defeating Clyburn this fall, who represents the last remaining Democratic seat in South Carolina and one of the last remaining deep-blue seats in the South.

But the comments prompted a local libertarian activist, Daniel Encarnacion, to launch a write-in challenge to Culler on the ballot. In an Oct. 16 Facebook post, Encarnacion admits the race is “probably not” winnable for him, but that he hopes to “give voters there a choice to vote for a pro-liberty candidate” who will eliminate the IRS and repeal the Patriot Act, among other things.

He announced his candidacy nationally on Monday, with a release calling on Culler to drop out of the race.

“I cannot sit idly by, and allow Mr. Culler to describe gay men, and women as gremlins. This is the definition of ignorance, and is absolutely reprehensible,” he said. “I hope each, and every Republican within the 6th Congressional District stands with me in saying, Mr. Culler, you do not represent us.”

Why does this Republican feel the urge to “cuddle” gay couples?

You really have to laugh at the complete lack of self awareness these phobic teabaggs present to the public. They rail AGAINST people with denigrating and ugly words and lies while saying “they” are bullies and attacking them. I Just do not get it.

Yes. But they look like minors and may have not given permission for that photo = disturbing

        • androgyne anode October 20th, 2014 at 4:28 pm

You know what? Not knowing the age of them, or seeing anything uncouth going on, I’m just going to assume that it’s fine.

It’s sort of weird to assume something sinister might be going on just because someone is sleeping.

          • infectious_d October 20th, 2014 at 5:26 pm

true, straight kids have fallin asleep on each other in odd positions before, and their friends likely took pics, not surprising or anything requiring age restrictions

          • androgyne anode October 20th, 2014 at 5:32 pm

I’m kind of suspicious of anyone that might see the above as even remotely sexual. It makes me wonder if they’d see a straight couple in that same circumstance the same way.

All I see there is love, and it’s a perfectly innocent picture, even sweet.

          • Ayn Awnemus October 20th, 2014 at 6:33 pm

You wouldn’t feel like your privacy had been violated if your picture was taken without your knowledge while sleeping in your SO’s arms?

          • androgyne anode October 20th, 2014 at 6:36 pm

How do you know that happened here?

            What leads you suspect that?

Why are you automatically suspicious. I’ve seen thousands upon thousands of pictures of people sleeping floating around the Internet, both adults and children, and it simply wouldn’t occur to me to assume that something sinister was going on, and I suspect the same goes for you.

            Examine your assumptions.

  4. androgyne anode October 20th, 2014 at 4:07 pm

You know who else doesn’t value the traditional family?

People who believe in gender equity.

People who question and challenge patriarchy.

People who understand what a toxic institution it is – one you can’t justify without either resorting to mythology or an appeal to tradition fallacy.

Yes they are. Much more dangerous than any other animal.

      • fahvel October 21st, 2014 at 1:39 am

extraordinarily dangerous – they will be the cause of the end of the world as you know it and you know it – when the fake capital that they build their imaginary world upon becomes top heavy and they all fall down – what a f’n mess. One should be proud of being what they are unless they are homosapien.

  9. Larry Schmitt October 20th, 2014 at 5:22 pm

For the umpteenth time, someone please explain to me how allowing a person to marry another person of the same gender affects any other person who is not related or friends with the married couple. None of these chicken littles who go into paroxysms whenever the phrase “same sex marriage” is mentioned can answer this.

    • R.J. Carter October 20th, 2014 at 5:24 pm

It doesn’t. It’s people who believe that a proscription against sin is a mandate to physically stop others from committing it, whatever “it” is. (Said mandate not found anywhere scripturally.)

      • androgyne anode October 20th, 2014 at 5:25 pm

I’m on a diet so you can’t eat a doughnut!

        • R.J. Carter October 20th, 2014 at 5:27 pm

Exactly! And it’s not limited to just those who believe they are acting as Christians!

          “I’m a (non-Christian religion), don’t say Merry Christmas.”
“I’m an atheist, don’t bless me when I sneeze.”
“I’m a vegan, why are you eating that bologna near me?”

          • androgyne anode October 20th, 2014 at 5:29 pm

I don’t disagree, but to be clear, the minute someone tries to use their religion to impose some sort of moral dogma on me, I have no problem returning my moral assessment of one’s religion. Once you walk through that door with me, it’s fair game, and I’m the worst kind of anti-Christian – a former missionary.

      • Larry Schmitt October 20th, 2014 at 5:26 pm

A lot of people don’t believe there is such a thing as sin. And others don’t think the same things are sins that these people do.

        • R.J. Carter October 20th, 2014 at 5:28 pm

Which is why Christians aren’t charged with eliminating sin or stopping others from committing it. They’re charged only with living their lives trying their best not to do it themselves.

          • Larry Schmitt October 20th, 2014 at 5:28 pm

I wish some of these people would get to work then.

          • infectious_d October 20th, 2014 at 5:34 pm

true, it’s just sad that so many people out there choose to use the religion as a boot to push others down and judge them, even though the religion forbids it

    • infectious_d October 20th, 2014 at 5:30 pm

exactly, it doesn’t…what i can’t help but find a bit humorous though is that the offended party like feels like “ew, what about what they’ve done alone?!”…when in reality they should be askin’ that for ANY couple…no one knows what anyone’s just done! or how horrifying it may or may not have been lol

    • Jones October 20th, 2014 at 7:01 pm

They are afraid gay marriage will give homosexuality legitimacy and promote cultural acceptance. Some people have spent their lives believing its’ deviant behavior and should be discouraged if not outlawed. They think their religion supports their position. They feel acceptance of gay marriage is a defeat in the culture war. The recent victories for equality is making their heads explode. Civil rights did not end racial discrimination and marriage equality will not end gay discrimination. That said, things are getting better.

      • DogsRgoodpeople October 21st, 2014 at 5:22 am

Well put. Yep, it’s driving them crazy , they didn’t have far to go though.

    • notation October 20th, 2014 at 8:00 pm

It doesn’t. Same-sex marriage is legal in what, 30 states now? Has the world ended? What negative repercussions has gay marriage had on anyone thus far? What evidence is there that it will have any in the future? None.

People are just nuts, and the “ick” factor just does them in. Wusses.

  12. androgyne anode October 20th, 2014 at 5:37 pm

You know what Anthony? I like you. You’re not like the other people here in the trailer park. Oh no, don’t get me wrong, they’re fine people, good Americans. But they’re content to sit back, maybe watch a little Mork and Mindy on channel 57. Maybe kick back a cool Coors 16-ouncer. They’re good fine people, Anthony. But they don’t know what the queers are doing to the soil.

You know that Johnny Werzner kid – the kid who delivers papers in the neighborhood? He’s a fine kid. Some of the neighbors say he smokes crack, but I don’t believe it. Anyway, for his 10th birthday, all he wanted was a burrow owl, just like his old man. “Dad, get me a burrow owl. I’ll never ask for anything else as long as I live”. So the guy breaks down and buys him a burrow owl. Anyway at 10:30 the other night I go out into my yard and there’s the Werzner kid looking up in the tree. I said, “What are you looking for?” He said, “I’m looking for my burrow owl.” I say, “Jumping Jesus on a pogo stick! Everybody knows that a burrow owl lives in a hole in the ground! Why the hell do you think they call it a burrow owl, anyway?!” Now Anthony, do you think a kid like that is gonna know what the queers are doing to the soil?

I first became aware of this, about 10 years ago, the summer my oldest boy Bill Jr. died. You know that carnival that comes to town every year? Well this year it came with a ride called the Mixer. The man said “Keep your head and arms inside the mixer at all times.” But Bill Jr., he was a daredevil, just like his old man. He was leaning out saying, “Hey everybody! Look at me, look at me!” POW! He was decapitated. They found his head over by the snowcone concession. A few days after that, I open up the mail and there’s a pamphlet in there, from Pueblo, Colorado. And it’s addressed to Bill Jr. And it’s entitled, “Do you know what the queers are doing to our soil?”

Now Anthony, if you look at the soil around any large U.S. city with a big underground homosexual population – Des Moines, Iowa, perfect example. Look at the soil around Des Moines, Anthony. You can’t build on it, you can’t grow anything in it. The government says it’s due to poor farming. But I know what’s really going on, Anthony. I know it’s the queers. They’re in it with the aliens. They’re building landing strips for gay Martians. I swear to God.

You know what Anthony, I like you. You’re not like the other people, here in the trailer park.

“Same sex couples that seek to destroy our way of life and the institution of marriage are NOT cute and cuddly but rather (for those of you that are old enough to remember the movie), Gremlins that will only destroy our way of life,” he wrote.

He’s right, of course. My gay friends have told me the same thing. They want the government to end straight marriage completely and force all straight white middle-aged conservative men to submit to gay sex on a daily basis. (They were oddly specific about that.) So be afraid. Be very afraid. Mwahahahahahahahaha!!!

          • R L Buds October 21st, 2014 at 4:45 pm

What lie? I used to watch Colbert. Then he had an “artist” who is doing the first hip-hop show on Broadway on his show who made numerous racist comments toward Stephen and he just took it. He also had a LGBT leader on after the Mozilla COE got axed and he let the guy go on about how that isn’t the LGBT’s way (getting people fired for their opinions) but Colbert never called him out about his lack of “leadership”. I guess he is like “O” leading from “behind”.

          • arc99 October 21st, 2014 at 4:47 pm

” I used to love watching Colbert but got sick of the way he coddles lefties”.
Now I had read that there was actually a percentage of Colberts audience who were conservative and so incredibly dense, that they actually didn’t understand that Colbert was a liberal comedian pretending to be a right wing media wacko. I remember thinking to myself “Oh c’mon, nobody is that stupid”
            Congratulations on setting me straight.
