On Michael Savage’s radio show last week, he argued with a caller over whether California lawmakers should rename a San Francisco tunnel in honor of Robin Williams. Savage objected, and the caller, who suffers rom post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), defended the move.

[su_center_ad]Savage claimed it would promote suicide, then after arguing with the caller, he hung up on him,  according to Right Wing Watch.

Then the radio host attacked the veteran saying, “I am so sick and tired with everyone with their complaints about PTSD, depression. Everyone wants their hand held and a check, a government check. What, are you the only generation that had PTSD? The only generation that’s depressed?”

Savage went on to  blame America’s problems on those who “cry like a little baby” over depression. “If the whole nation is told, ‘boo-hoo-hoo, come and get a medication, come and get treatment, talk about mental illness,’ you know what you wind up with?,” he asked. “You wind up with Obama in the White House and lawyers in every phase of the government, that’s what you wind up with. It’s a weak, sick nation. A weak, sick, broken nation.”

Savage went on to call veterans who are suffering from PTSD a “bunch of losers” and said, “You need men like me to save the country.”

“You need men to stand up and say stop crying like a baby over everything.” He continued to say, “no wonder ISIS can defeat our military.”

80 responses to Michael Savage: Veterans Who Suffer From PTSD Are A Bunch Of Wussies

  1. neworleans878 October 21st, 2014 at 6:31 pm

Veterans who suffer from PTSD are losers?

Where were you during Vietnam, big? PIG man?

Another R.W. chicken hawk. Always willing to fight to the last drop of other people’s blood.

    • William October 21st, 2014 at 6:41 pm

Where were you during Vietnam, big PIG man?
College deferment, and counting plants in S. America.

      • Tommy6860 October 21st, 2014 at 6:57 pm

Or protesting the antiwar protesters being pro-war with Mitt Romeny while they voided the draft through deferment. Hey, Wasn’t Cheney among that ilk as well?

        • William October 21st, 2014 at 10:02 pm

          Cheney received 5 deferments. http://www.nytimes.com/2004/05/01/politics/campaign/01CHEN.html
The coveted student deferments (for those who could afford college)
There are however, those who despite a privileged upbringing and an Ivy league education, willfully volunteered. See John Kerry.

  2. Tommy6860 October 21st, 2014 at 6:38 pm

As one who suffers from depression, this man is ignorant. Note how absent he was in the wars we fought while he’s complaining against those who fight for his right to put them down. Maybe if he lost his show and got sued for all of his wealth, he’d understand depression, and how traumatic it is for someone to remove his sorry right wing ass from the airwaves, and his ability to live on the most meager of means.

  3. Angelo_Frank October 21st, 2014 at 6:38 pm

You have to understand that Michael Savage (Weiner) is a sociopath who never served, nor has his son, in the military. It’s all about ratings, that’s all.

    • Ayn Awnemus October 21st, 2014 at 6:51 pm

Who is a bigger jerk, Savage or Limbaugh?

      • Tommy6860 October 21st, 2014 at 6:57 pm

There’s nothing dissimilar between utter assholes.

        • Dwendt44 October 22nd, 2014 at 1:15 am

Savage had children. I don’t know HOW but he did. Limpball won’t, he’s more into keeping his money for drugs.

      • whatthe46 October 21st, 2014 at 7:28 pm

        jerk is too pleasant.

  4. Larry Schmitt October 21st, 2014 at 6:38 pm

In previous wars it was called battle fatigue or shell shock, but it’s always been around. War is a nasty business, and people don’t react to it like they do in the movies. And some lard ass who never wore a uniform has no right to belittle a veteran’s condition. Go f*** yourself, Savage.

  5. Russell Burgos October 21st, 2014 at 6:40 pm

Seems to have spent a lot of time in a lot of graduate schools during the war in Vietnam. But I’m sure that’s a total coincidence.

    • jasperjava October 21st, 2014 at 6:56 pm

      Savage went to graduate school?
      Coulda fooled me.

      • Larry Schmitt October 21st, 2014 at 7:12 pm

He didn’t say he learned anything.

        • whatthe46 October 21st, 2014 at 7:26 pm

          HA!

        • Dwendt44 October 22nd, 2014 at 1:14 am

          He knew it all already.

  6. Dcbos October 21st, 2014 at 6:54 pm

Had plenty of chances to serve ; chickened out; but he is the usual flag waving patriot that would save America if only more men were like him; chicken hawk; talks cheep Michael or what ever your name is.

    • Dwendt44 October 22nd, 2014 at 1:13 am

He’s 4′ 11″ tall, so exempt from military service.

  7. Dcbos October 21st, 2014 at 6:57 pm

    Michael weiner ; apropos.

  8. forpeace October 21st, 2014 at 6:58 pm

And that makes Michael Savage an extremism, hatred, and a total idiot.

No wonder on May 5, 2009, it was announced by then-Home Secretary Jacqui Smith that Savage was on a list of individuals banned from entering the United Kingdomas he is “considered to be engaging in unacceptable behaviour by seeking to provoke others to serious criminal acts and fostering hatred which might lead to inter-community violence.”

His last name fits him well.

    • whatthe46 October 21st, 2014 at 7:25 pm

shame is not a part of his vocabulary. i doubt he’s even aware the word exist, let alone its meaning. fk’n disgusting.

      • forpeace October 21st, 2014 at 7:36 pm

        Yes, he is indeed disguting.

  9. Foundryman October 21st, 2014 at 7:00 pm

I’m sick and tired of all these right wing douche bags spouting their stupidity on the radio. Sure wish the plug could be pulled on all of them…

    • tracey marie October 21st, 2014 at 7:01 pm

and they claim to be patriots that support the troops

      • Larry Schmitt October 21st, 2014 at 7:02 pm

As long as the troops aren’t them or their kids.

        • tracey marie October 21st, 2014 at 7:02 pm

even then they really do not, savage proves that

      • Foundryman October 21st, 2014 at 7:02 pm

They are everything but that….traitors is more like it..

  10. tiredoftea October 21st, 2014 at 7:00 pm

FFS, how are human pustules like this allowed on a radio station?

    • Larry Schmitt October 21st, 2014 at 7:01 pm

One of the drawbacks of the free market.

    • forpeace October 21st, 2014 at 7:01 pm

The same reason some are allowed to be on Fox.

Or the same reason Rush Limbaugh is allowed.

  11. VALERIE MARTIN October 21st, 2014 at 7:02 pm

    See,
Eventually they get around to telling
us how they REALLY feel, don’t they?
O! they LuV them some Veterans when
they’re using them as a prop. Ya know,
like when they took down the barriers
to the WWII Memorial. Waving all those
little flags. Then when the cameras are
gone, they promptly vote to SLASH their
benefits. O! and they also LuV to create
MORE Veterans because they also never
met a WAR they didn’t LuV!!

    • Larry Schmitt October 21st, 2014 at 7:03 pm

But they love it from a distance.

      • Dwendt44 October 22nd, 2014 at 1:12 am

As long as they themselves aren’t personally involved.

    • whatthe46 October 21st, 2014 at 7:21 pm

“…they also never met a WAR they didn’t LuV!!” or one they didn’t create.

  12. forpeace October 21st, 2014 at 7:04 pm

In July 2008, Savage claimed that the increasing rate of autism diagnoses was the result of “a racket” designed to get disability payments for “poorer families who have found a new way to be parasites on the government.” He returned to the subject on his July 16, 2008, show with the following remarks:

Now, the illness du jour is autism. You know what autism is? I’ll tell you what autism is. In 99 percent of the cases, it’s a brat who hasn’t been told to cut the act out. That’s what autism is. What do you mean they scream and they’re silent? They don’t have a father around to tell them, “Don’t act like a moron. You’ll get nowhere in life. Stop acting like a putz. Straighten up. Act like a man. Don’t sit there crying and screaming, idiot.”

And now he is picking on our Veterans, this guy has no shame.

    • Larry Schmitt October 21st, 2014 at 7:06 pm

What makes this asshole an expert on anything? It’s easy to talk when you don’t have to show proof of your idiotic statements. Fox is proof of that.

      • forpeace October 21st, 2014 at 7:08 pm

I wish there were taxes on “talks,” then all of these idiots would have shut their mouths.

        • Larry Schmitt October 21st, 2014 at 7:11 pm

No they’d move the stations to Cayman Islands, and avoid the taxes.

          • Foundryman October 21st, 2014 at 7:12 pm

Far enough away where AM radio signals can’t reach us would be ok with me…..

          • forpeace October 21st, 2014 at 7:13 pm

            HA!

          • M D Reese October 22nd, 2014 at 2:10 am

Speaking of AM radio–Rush is starting to slide. He’s being demoted from the big 50,000 watt super stations to the 5,000 watt local stations. I can hardly wait until he’s on some obscure internet channel. Maybe the Sarah Palin channel will pick him up…(hee hee)

          • Veri1138 October 22nd, 2014 at 7:00 am

If true, America’s collective IQ is going up a few points. Okay, 0.01 points in the case of RW zealots.

          • M D Reese October 25th, 2014 at 5:26 pm

True that–you have to HAVE an IQ for it to go up. I think that exposure to people like Rush has a permanent affect though. It makes their minds completely resistant to facts and truth and reality.

          • forpeace October 21st, 2014 at 7:12 pm

            LOL ……….. good one!

And they would open up offshore bank accounts for their money.

          • Veri1138 October 22nd, 2014 at 7:00 am

Damn. Doesn’t he like Mexico or Dominican Republican for all the pre-teens?

        • M D Reese October 22nd, 2014 at 1:59 am

It would be nice if being a willfully ignorant asshat was painful, wouldn’t it? Rush would be in constant agony.

          • Veri1138 October 22nd, 2014 at 6:59 am

Or, maybe he was. Could explain all the oxycodone.

          • M D Reese October 25th, 2014 at 5:27 pm

Hmmm. Never thought of it that way. You may be on to something.

          • Veri1138 October 26th, 2014 at 1:36 am

I found a use for philosophy: teaching perspective. The problem with philosophy is that too many get wrapped up in it among all the perspectives and actually choose one to belief as if that perspective were the end-all, be-all of explanations for human motivation.

          • M D Reese October 26th, 2014 at 6:34 pm

Truth that. I find that it doesn’t bother me at all not to know exactly how or why we came to be. Here we are. Let’s deal with that.

    • Rafael Solorzano October 21st, 2014 at 7:55 pm

What a sick statement, I know at least 12 families and have relatives with autistic children and you know what?, they are not faking it. Lots of Savage fans are

      ….like him.

      • forpeace October 21st, 2014 at 8:05 pm

Indeed, I know some people with autism and it is for real.

        This man is beyond disgusting.

    • Bunya October 21st, 2014 at 8:42 pm

It’s easy for cowards to trash veterans and autistic children from the safety of his radio booth. After all, he didn’t serve in the military and he doesn’t know anyone with autism, so it’s okay to be a idiot with no shame.

  13. williamedward October 21st, 2014 at 7:14 pm

I guess then that the answer is if you are not being supported by your government as an employee such as a soldier, then you should not work for that government.

  14. Soothsayer123 October 21st, 2014 at 7:25 pm

This might be the insult that ends Savage’s career.

    • whatthe46 October 21st, 2014 at 7:37 pm

forpeace posted a comment he made about children afflicted with autism, since that didn’t do, one can only hope this will. its disgusting no one was apparently offended enough to end it back then. i had never heard of this guy.

    • bhil October 22nd, 2014 at 9:59 am

My suspicion is that most won’t care what he says, just blame the President and all is good.

  15. Rusty Shackleford October 21st, 2014 at 7:35 pm

“Support our troops” apparently just means “support our military industrial complex, and fuck the victims it churns out.”

  16. forpeace October 21st, 2014 at 7:47 pm

  17. Cosmic_Surfer October 21st, 2014 at 8:16 pm

Michael Savage trying to channel Patton and fails…He doesn’t have the intelligence or balls and he lacks the reality testing.

Proving once again, Michael Savage is an idiot.

  18. Suzanne McFly October 21st, 2014 at 8:16 pm

I would love to see him say this at my local VA, I will pick his ass up, drive him, take him out for his last meal and serve him to “wussie” veterans. I want hold my breath for a response.

  19. Cosmic_Surfer October 21st, 2014 at 8:19 pm

Well, he would be right if he was talking about torture, imprisonment of activists and whistleblowers and spying on its citizens but I suspect Savage believes those are Okey-Dokey.

  20. Bunya October 21st, 2014 at 8:36 pm

In Savages defense, he really doesn’t understand PTSD because HE NEVER SERVED, that miserable bag o’ puke. He and Ted Nugent are the two biggest turds on the planet and are an embarrassment to the human race.

  21. craig7120 October 21st, 2014 at 10:20 pm

Frontline is doing a story on “Losing Iraq”
What a colossal cluster and blunder

    • tracey marie October 21st, 2014 at 10:31 pm

I am watching it now. This is what the right calls glorious and patriotic. I am ill watching the actual deaths and destruction

      • StoneyCurtisll October 21st, 2014 at 10:43 pm

        Screw the ball game…
I turned on to PBS…(more important)

    • StoneyCurtisll October 21st, 2014 at 10:43 pm

      Better TV..:)

  22. StoneyCurtisll October 21st, 2014 at 10:41 pm

My opinion of Michael Savage (born Michael Alan Weiner) is so profanity laced that I will not post any of it..(if ya get my drift)

  23. whatthe46 October 21st, 2014 at 11:42 pm

Anomaly100… speaking of ignorant. can you post: “Today on the 700 Club: ‘To Say the Rich Can’t Get to Heaven is Just a Liberal Heresy’” for discussion?

    • M D Reese October 22nd, 2014 at 1:48 am

That whole topic is funny as hell. The new Supply-Side, Tea Party Jesus also packs an assault-style rifle when he goes out to heal the poor. Oh wait–what am I saying! The poor need to suck it up and heal themselves!

  24. Intolerantcentrist October 22nd, 2014 at 12:21 am

Mr. Savage provides the distinction between an American and a Republican.

  25. raincheck October 22nd, 2014 at 6:54 am

Semper Fi…… Something you’ll never hear from “Savage”

  26. bhil October 22nd, 2014 at 9:49 am

Michael Alan Weiner; AKA Savage talk about a crybaby!

  27. Dwendt44 October 22nd, 2014 at 6:53 pm

I hope somebody steals his booster chair.

  28. OldFartMarine October 23rd, 2014 at 5:39 pm

Well “FU” very much Mr. Savage… If seeing your friends head explode three feet from your face doesn’t bother you for the rest of your life you are some kind of cold hearted bast**d who is talking out of their @ss…

  29. TropicDave173 November 8th, 2014 at 12:28 pm

“Savage went on to call veterans who are suffering from PTSD a “bunch of
losers” and said, “You need men like me to save the country.” ”

If your fat ass didn’t serve before – and it didn’t – then STFU, Mikey. I lump you in with all the other oxygen-wasters like Ted, Sean, and Glenn who talk like they were tough guys but never served. Your opinion is invalid if you’ve never volunteered or accepted your country’s call.

  30. pointvet April 30th, 2015 at 6:47 pm

I would love to debate the sissy Savage, where he can’t hang-up the phone. Had he the stones to have served near me, most frequently, on his tired blood oozed feet, where points not being nuts, though valuing the lives of others more than their own….Savage would have been behind me, no one was ‘mouthy’ enough to be ahead. Most often.
Occupation to occupation we all met the call at the age we were needed. We were harmonious.
Savage can’t so much as play the roll of the many k’s of liars who claim to have served with us.
I would enjoy speaking with Savage a few minutes, alone here in a Texas cactus patch, where big bold is not necessary. But enough for most bloviators. We could just set in an old pick-up truck and exchange knowledge.
