Joni Ernst: I Carry A Gun To Defend Myself From The Government
Joni Ernst, hog castrator and Republican candidate for U.S. Senate in Iowa, said during a National Rifle Association event in 2012 that she carries a gun and would use it to defend herself from the government. The Sarah Palin endorsed candidate has used a gun in one of her ads previously. The newly discovered video shows Ernst pandering to the fringe Tea Party base without regard or respect for the then-recent Aurora theater shooting.
It’s odd that Republicans want to defend themselves against the very government they work for.

“I do believe in the right to carry, and I believe in the right to defend myself and my family — whether it’s from an intruder, or whether it’s from a government, should they decide that my rights are no longer important,” Ernst said in 2012, adding that she owns “a beautiful little” Smith & Wesson 9 millimeter. Her remarks came just weeks after the mass shooting at a movie theater in Aurora, Colorado, where gunman James Holmes allegedly killed 12 people and injured dozens more on July 20, 2012.
Aside from the 12 people shot dead, 58 people were injured in the Aurora theater shooting.

In June, State Senator Joni Ernst characterized the shooting at the University of California, Santa Barbara, as an accident in a US Senate primary debate. She was asked about her then-recent ad, too.
“I would not — no. This unfortunate accident happened after the ad, but it does highlight that I want to get rid of, repeal, and replace Bruce Braley’s Obamacare,” Ernst replied, referring to a Democratic Senate candidate. “And it also shows that I am a strong supporter of the Second Amendment. That is a fundamental right.”
Ernst has also referred to President Obama as a “dictator.”

fox news recently said in relation to the shooter in Ottawa that it’s time WE identified people who would do America harm. No need to they identify themselves, we can start w/her and add cliven bundy and so many others who would overthrow the govt if given the nod by their base.

FoxNoise has a few of them on the air every week. Megyn Kelly really seems to like convicts, felons and other crooks. She had them on her program often, talking about stuff they know nothing about.

Unless something drastic happens, she is going to be elected. I live next door to IA and see all the TV ads. Her opponent is a decent man but iMO his campaign has miscalculated the appeal her style has to Ia voters. Her ads are about nothing at all; lots of fluff with waving flags, etc. There is an ad now running featuring a nurse talking about treating rape victims and how she would deny abortions to rape victims. It is powerful but a little late. It seems nothing sticks to her.

If she feels she needs to protect herself from the government, perhaps she should leave the country. You never know when the black guy in the white house is gonna break down her door and take her guns.
