Arizona Sen. John McCain (R) defended Sarah Palin after her family members became involved in a bloody, drunken brawl at a party in Alaska.

“I think these are family affairs,” McCain said on Friday. “Things happen in people’s families and I’m not excusing it, I’m not condemning it.”

[su_center_ad]AZFamily notes that McCain was referring to the now infamous fight last month in Alaska between Palin and her family members.

Like the half-term Governor of Alaska, McCain also blamed the media.  Bristol, like her mother, blamed just about everyone without taking responsibility for her own action. In fact, Bristol pointed out the recent revelation of Joe Biden’s son doing cocaine — which is something he has taken responsibility for.

“I just know that the kind of coverage that this got, in my view, is in keeping with the kind of coverage the liberals have accorded to Sarah Palin for a number of years, which in my view, is biased and unfair and sometimes unacceptable,” he said.

Peas in a pod. He did pick a suitable running mate; someone that plays the same blame game he does.

Does John McCain’s massive ego prevent him from understanding what a spectacularly bad judgement he had by picking Sarah Palin?

      In a word – YES.

  2. Obewon November 1st, 2014 at 2:47 pm

Who else but a former GOP VP nominee mom crashes parties, goes on Drunken brawl rampages with both daughters falling down drunk, her Son and Tahhd fighting the party host whose party they crashed? No other snowbillys are that insane!

I hope that Flailin’ Palin and her reality show of a family move to Arizona and buy the house right next door to John McCain. He needs a constant reminder of what he has done to this country. Until he retires, he should have Bristol Palin running all of his public appearances.

Liberals unfairly attack Palin? I’m an independent and I attack her because she puts herself in that position. When she becomes a public talking head, saying ridiculous hypocritical bullshit, along with her pathologically lying daughter who is the poster child for drunken promiscuous brawling due to bad parenting, open for ridicule, I say!

  8. labman57 November 1st, 2014 at 3:36 pm

    “… these are family affairs.”
    Translation: “Hicks will be hicks.”

    • Mainah November 1st, 2014 at 3:39 pm

I live in Maine. We have hicks and most hicks have no issues saying they had a brawl. In fact, they usually laugh about it together the next day. These people are just plain trash.

Eno is one of my all time favs and he was awesome on their first two albums. When Eno left, I though it would hurt them, but Stranded was awesome; I still love Mother of Pearl.

Eno produced some of the best music I have. My two favorite albums, “Before and After Science and “Taking Tiger Mountain (By Strategy)”. Phil Manzanera played with Eno when Eno went solo and still did Roxy Music as well. Do you remember “801 Live”?

            High Five brother..
Robert Fripp and Brian Eno..(evening star) album..
            Or even Eno and Winters..(Frankenstein)..

I recently bought a nice set of speakers, (Kilpsch) for my computer.

The days of getting up to turn the record over, or put in a different CD are a thing of the past…

Yeah, things happen. Y’know, some people get in drunken brawls, other people regularly crash airplanes on the job but avoid getting grounded because of their father’s name. Six of one, half-dozen of the other.

  12. Tommy6860 November 1st, 2014 at 5:40 pm

So says the uber-paranoid McCain where everything’s a war, or it isn’t anything at all. So, just as he made his wing-nut acclaimed pick for 2nd in-line to the CIC, I’m not surprised he sticks up for a person who couldn’t manage her way through a 2nd grade spelling bee.

  13. Pat Padrnos November 1st, 2014 at 5:46 pm

Yes McCain – things do happen.
He says he has no particulars about the brawl. Should he not have checked that out before he comments? Apparently he does not think so.
If he had – he would have learned that the Palins were drunk when they got to the party. Even underage Willow. On the audio it is clear there were more children in the limo (per Todd). Tripp was mingling (running wild on the tarmac) according to someone who kept trying to corral him. In the meantime the child’s mom (Bristol) was whacking the host in the face, Tramp was brawling with others, Ms Palin was screaming, “Do you know who we are?” Shall I go on? Anyone who wants to know what happened – including McCain can easily access the audio – then come back and tell us how “things happen”.

  14. labman57 November 1st, 2014 at 5:56 pm

    News flash!
Palin and McCain are shocked to discover that continually craving and pursuing the media spotlight can be a double-edged sword.

Walnuts and Quitter are nothing but whiners. Nice going, Walnuts, picking Quitter to be your running mate. Picking a person totally unsuited for dogcatcher, much less to be one heartbeat away from becoming president will cement you as the most unpatriotic major party presidential nominee in history.

He’s an old man (78), who just doesn’t know when to quit. At one point he was a halfway decent and honorable Senator, for a Republican. In the presidential campaign, he spoke out for the necessity of urgent measures with regard to climate change, which took some guts. But now he’s lost his honor.
I’m 72 myself, so I can sympathize. I guess It’s not easy leaving the stage when you’ve been used to the public spotlight for a long time. Thank goodness I’ve never had that problem.

McCain’s qualifications to speak about others’ family values, qualifications, and performance of their job.

    1. Finished in the bottom 1% of his class at the naval academy with numerous reports of misconduct but got assigned to a plumb unit post graduation (father and grandfather being admirals certainly had absolutely no bearing on his naval career (right?)

    2. Crashed 5 planes…including ejecting from one while returning from an “essential mission” to an army/navy game.

    3. Cheated on his first wife numerous times…his wife was in a long recovery from severe injuries.

    4. Left his still ill first wife for his girlfriend, beer heiress Cindy, and didn’t see the children from his first marriage for several years.

I guess he’s just another member of the party of family values who doesn’t have any of those values himself…just like Palin, Gingrich, Limbaugh, Joe Walsh, Mark Sanford…and the list goes on.
