Iowa Senate candidate Joni Ernst (R-Hog castrator), depending on her mood or access to a dictionary, either thinks President Obama is a president that who refuses to lead, or is an evil “dictator” who is constantly “overstepping his bounds.”

[su_center_ad]The two descriptions are contrary to each other, but Ernst, the Sarah Palin of Iowa, is throwing the same red meat her colleagues have hurled time and time again and it seems to be effective for her party’s fringe base.

“We have an apathetic president,” she told a crowd in Newton, Iowa, as part of her 24-hour get out the vote tour around the country, according to the Washington Post.

After the event, Ernst was asked to explain her statement.

“He is just standing back and letting things happen, he is reactive rather than proactive,” Ernst said. “With Ebola, he’s been very hands off.”

“What should he have done about Ebola?” Charlie Pierce of Esquire asked her. “One person in America has Ebola.”

“OK, you’re the press, you’re giving me your opinion,” Ernst said.

“It’s not an opinion, only one person in America has it,” he said.

“But he is the leader, he is the leader of our nation,” she responded. “So what he can do is make sure that all of these agencies are coordinating together, to make sure he is sharing with the American people he cares about them, he cares about their safety.”

“You don’t think he does?” he said.

“I don’t know that he does, he hasn’t demonstrated that,” she said.

“You don’t think he’s demonstrated that he cares about the American people?” he asked.

“He hasn’t,” she concluded. “I’m done. So anybody else?”

That’s when she was asked about her two thoughts, that Obama acts like a dictator and somebody who doesn’t even care enough to act.

“That’s where he is a leader. So many of the actions that he proposes taking are actions that should be done by Congress. Not by the president. He is our executive. He is our leader. He is our president. Congress should be making the legislative actions,” she said without answering the question.

A dictator wields absolute authority. If Obama’s apathetic, then he shows little interest. You know, just like Hitler. We all remember how Hitler used to say, “Can’t we all just get along?” [su_csky_ad]

The Republican image of President Obama: “Gee, I’d like to bend everybody to my will today, but I just can’t get up the energy to care.”

  2. mea_mark November 3rd, 2014 at 5:05 pm

An apathetic Dictator? Cognitive dissonance anyone?

  3. arc99 November 3rd, 2014 at 5:05 pm

Is the President Tony Soprano, or is the President Homer Simpson?

Will right wingers ever make up their minds.

As I noted in another thread, according to a poll released today, Ernst is trailing by 20 points among Iowa voters who have cast an early ballot.

    Let’s keep it up Iowa!

Tony Simpson? Homer Soprano? He’s two, two, two dictators in one. (I’m dating myself.)

      • arc99 November 3rd, 2014 at 6:41 pm

I think you and I have similar carbon-dating. I remember those commercials.

Certs with Retsin. Or in 21st century terms, a pill loaded with sugar laced with some chemical which probably causes cancer.

I didn’t realize it was actually labeled a candy breath mint. A Lifesaver probably would have been as effective.

These idiots need to make up their minds. First the President is a Muslim, yet he is criticized for a decade in a pew at Reverend Wrights United church of Christ. Then the President is a wishy washy appeaser, then a tyrannical dictator.
Is the GOP base really that stupid?

The US needed a new crazy Koch sister replacing Bachmann / Palin in 2016~ “It’s not an opinion, only one person in America has” Ebola he said. “But he is the leader, he is the leader of our nation,” she responded. “So what he can do is make sure ‘Taylor Swift isn’t compared to me!’-Ernst blows another head gasket then retreats https://twitter.com/joniernst/status/529330695664304128 Phony Joni Ernst ‘Very Offended’ By Tom Harkin’s Superior & Smarter Taylor Swift Comparison of Taylor Swift As a Much Better Iowa Senate choice

Ebola is the new Bengahzi! The TOPers will want to know why marines were not used to stop the invasion of Ebola. Ebola is the next terrorist threat as well (until after the election). Sheesh!

While the reporter called her down on a fact, why are they not going after these anti-science wingers with the death rates from the flu, or the enterovirus that has killed 5 people and infected hundreds of others. What about gun deaths, as that is nothing less than a disease with the 2nd amendmenter’s compulsion to own every kind of firearm available. These bigots do not care about Ebola, as once the election is over, their hate posturing against Obama will leave it a forgotten theme they used to get elected.

Was this interview done before, or after, she used the men’s room?

  9. Jack E Raynbeau November 3rd, 2014 at 6:40 pm

She doesn’t realize that if Obama was a dictator she would disappear due to that statement?

    • Obewon November 3rd, 2014 at 6:51 pm

Phony Joni Ernst events are always as empty as the cavity between her ears,

Meet the new Michele Bachmann, same as the old Michele Bachmann.

“What should he have done about Ebola?” Charlie Pierce of Esquire asked her. “One person in America has Ebola.”

“OK, you’re the press, you’re giving me your opinion,” Ernst said.

    That woman is an idiot.

    • Larry Schmitt November 3rd, 2014 at 7:56 pm

      Suddenly facts are opinions.

      • Obewon November 3rd, 2014 at 8:00 pm

The last US Ebola patient is stable today, while millions suffering from Teabola paranoia nowadays won’t ever be cured.

  12. searambler November 3rd, 2014 at 7:33 pm

The same number of Americans in this country that have been killed by ebola have been killed by Laura Bush – one.

    • Obewon November 3rd, 2014 at 7:58 pm

Exactly! Any Ebola cured remain free and clear. But Laura Welch-Bush had to agree to take anti-psychotic meds for the rest of her life to escape prison!

  13. Hass November 3rd, 2014 at 8:11 pm

Ha! Sometimes I wish Obama was a dictator, just so he could deal with those imbecilic conservatives in a dictators way.

  14. labman57 November 3rd, 2014 at 10:30 pm

Sounds like a good title for an off-Broadway screwball comedy — The Apathetic Dictator.

Joni isn’t stupid, but she isn’t very intelligent either. I’m disappointed with her insipid answers to the reporter’s questions. But I’m not surprised someone with such a shallow understanding of politics and current events could be elected senator, as most voters are even dumber than she is. TV campaign ads and the programming of cable news have turned candidates into game show contestants. The telegenic mom with the military background won this beauty contest.

She clearly isn’t qualified to hold such an important office.
