[su_right_ad]Gordon “Dr. Champs” Klingenschmitt is now a Colorado state representative.

Klingenschmitt, a radical anti-gay Religious Right activist who brags of having once tried to rid of woman of the “foul spirit of lesbianism” through an exorcism and who openly proclaims that “American law needs to reflect God’s law” and that our foreign policy must be based on the Bible, won election to the Colorado House of Representatives last night.

Klingenschmitt, who wrote a book about how President Obama is possessed by demons and once performed an exorcism of Obama, ran an utterly embarrassing campaign yet nonetheless managed to defeat his Democratic opponent by nearly 40 points…

Klingenschmitt is a viciously anti-gay theocrat who believes that gay people “want your soul” and may sexually abuse their own children, which is why he says they should face government discrimination since only people who are going to heaven are entitled to equal treatment by the government.

There’s much, much more about this newly-elected legislator at RightWingWatch.

Colorado is soon going to be known as the Rocky Mountain Sunshine State.

This is proof of our decline as a species! How in hell does this idiot beat anyone, anywhere in an election?

    • Tommy6860 November 5th, 2014 at 11:24 pm

You also mean in “any” election.

      • tiredoftea November 5th, 2014 at 11:25 pm

        I’ll start with this one.

you are all asking the same question. The answer might lie in the fact that so many of you kind souls here at lib land live in libland and assume that what goes on here has a real impact on your country. Me, far left, probably anarchist but I see the usa from abroad and it’s a frightening sight to most who don’t watch seinfeld and friends.

It’s pretty scary from within as well.

      • tiredoftea November 6th, 2014 at 10:45 am

It’s awful frightening here, too! That’s why we are concerned as we watch an anti-democratic and very conservative Congress take over our law making process. Additionally, more of the extreme right has taken over our state governor’s and legislatures where the damage to our republic will come faster and be more harmful to those citizens.

“and that our foreign policy must be based on the Bible”
…and what exactly DOES the Bible say about foreign policy?
Oh wait….he’s using a different Bible I guess.

    • Tommy6860 November 5th, 2014 at 11:34 pm

      I call it the “Buybull”.

    • Tommy6860 November 5th, 2014 at 11:39 pm

You know, it takes a very backward majority to elect a bigoted extremist such as this guy, where he wins by 40 points! That right there tells you a great deal about his constituency.

      • granpa.usthai November 6th, 2014 at 2:35 am

actually they’d have to be a well educated lot to overcome the obvious ans still pass off as being literate.

    • fahvel November 6th, 2014 at 3:13 am

nah, he’s using the old part when his god says things like go take it all, kill everyone except pretty non lesbian virgins and keep the stores.

  5. KB723 November 5th, 2014 at 11:55 pm

God’s Law and Heaven…. Hmmm I am lost for words, for him and my fellow Coloradoans… The one’s who voted for him that is…

Chaps is yet another insane disgrace who was kicked out of the US Military like nutball Allen West! Former Navy chaplain kicked out of the service for wearing his uniform in a protest at the White House.

  7. Hass November 6th, 2014 at 12:37 am

  9. granpa.usthai November 6th, 2014 at 2:31 am

well la de da mr. exorcistmicester:

every one knows if you don’t wear a rotting fish around your neck 24/7 for 7 days and 7 nights the exorcism won’t work! Only way to drive away evil demons is with the smell of a 7 day old dead rotting fish. Says so right there in the book right after the foreign affairs section! Will also prevent you from turning gay, which may explain why you’re having so many problems with your boyfriend. -and you need to be cleansed yourself – (almost forgot) by smearing fresh blood all over your body then jumping into a shark tank. – only way to be truly cleaned as sharks hate the smell of blood.

  10. fahvel November 6th, 2014 at 3:11 am

maybe every one in his district who might have voted against this type of scum was stoned and, you know, forgot to pull the lever or pulled the one on the right.

  11. Suzanne McFly November 6th, 2014 at 6:57 am

I wonder how his boyfriend feels about this “win”.

  12. craig7120 November 8th, 2014 at 4:15 pm

My commitment to retire abroad has never been stronger.
I’m a liberal and tired of fighting this wave after wave of nuttery.

    • Obewon November 8th, 2014 at 4:35 pm

These loons are generational die outs. Tilting at Darwin’s windmills leaves these low density cave people ignorant that their own conservative SCOTUS proves they’re constitutionally illiterate.

  13. Candide Thirtythree December 19th, 2014 at 10:40 pm

It’s ok, he won’t win next time because all 3 of our families are moving there, we will turn it blue because we actually vote.
