      Meth, it’s a helluva drug.

and as Raymond said, Crack don’t smoke itself.
        and Meth don’t snort itself.

just a heck of a way to start your farewell tour, one in hospital close to dead, one now seeing possible prison time.

LOL! Never heard that one before.

As a middle of the road listener of AC/DC I don’t convict before a jury does. Its bad enough they lost malcom ( long time lead guitarist ) who is currently suffering from dementia. If their drummer goes to jail ? I think this band as we know it is done. Some celebrities are flying under the radar. recently I saw a TMZ post http://www.tmz.com/2014/10/31/star-trek-lt-uhura-meth-drug-bust-lax-airport/ who almost got some jail time.

had no idea that Malcolm Young was suffering from dementia.

but I do need to correct you on one small point. the lead guitarist is his brother Angus with the schoolboy short pants and the devil horns.

here is a full concert from 2001 when they were at their very best in the post Bon Scott era.

Nah… drummers are usually fairly replaceable.
I imagine they could replace him without losing their chutzpah.

Now, on the other hand, losing Angus would be the unquestionable death knell.
He’s been the face of the band forever, plus his style of play and his onstage personality are defining characteristics of the band.

Not that the drummer is worthless as a musician, just that it’s not like trying to replace Neil Peart in Rush… that would be impossible.

its more devastating then you think. led zeppelin was mulling a tour until john paul jones passed away and that put the cork in the bottle. Ditto with the who when they lost their bass player. When your 2 long time players drop out ….bands tend to call it a career Especially if they have been around since the 1970s or earlier. Besides AC/DC was on the fence when malcom could no longer play,it was rumored they were going to cancel the tour this year Now im 99% sure this is going to be their last go around.

            Oh yeah… good point.
From the bands viewpoint, losing two band members can be devastating.
Although, apparently it won’t be stopping them… at least not in the short term:
“Phil’s absence will not affect the release of our new album Rock or Bust and upcoming tour next year”

Plus, Angus is the only original member left.
They’ve been without Rudd before (for years) and got through that just fine, so I suspect that they’ll carry on just fine.

according to the news ive been listening to This was to be their final tour. There will always be that one band member who wants to keep touring but the rest wont be on board. Neil peart would be a great example Just saw him on david letterman recently doing solo on drums.

          • Kick Frenzy November 6th, 2014 at 9:55 pm

With two new members on board, I wouldn’t be surprised if they reach a point where they figure the new guys deserve to get an album under their belts.

While the loss of Malcolm is terrible and Rudd is disappointing, it also means the pulse of the band just got a blood transfusion.
Both percussion and rhythm guitar are new blood… that could evolve into something freakin sweet.

What was he thinking? The same thing all [FILL IN THE BLANK: ENTERTAINERS, SPORTS STARS, POLITICIANS, CEOS, ETC.] think!

That he is an over-privileged, nothing-can-touch-me, hit-the-lottery-of-life, living-the-rock-and-roll-dream, mulit-millionaire [FILL IN THE BLANK: ENTERTAINER, SPORTS STAR, POLITICIAN, CEO, ETC.].

Seriously hate the new share buttons. Just sayin.

Duly noted — though, ironically, as i was moving my mouse to click “Reply”, I rolled over the “Share ” button and shared your comment on LinkedIn…

LOL. It could just be me, my browser (Chrome) or my settings. Whether I use the Twitter/FB buttons at the op or bottom, it always opens an additional tab that doesn’t auto close. I can switch up browsers at work but at home I use a Chromebook.

        • mea_mark November 6th, 2014 at 9:07 am

It opens a new tab, top and bottom for me too. I don’t like it either.

At work, the IT guy put in 12GB of RAM so it’s no big deal. However at home that’s a different story and I chew up a ton of resources.
