[su_center_ad]On election day, one group of ammosexual nutjobs had a Bright Idea™ – voting is stupid, assassinate Obama. While the second part has become almost a mantra on whatever segment of the Right is not calling for impeachment, it is surprising to see the Gun Rights Facebook page doing anything besides encouraging its vapid and rabid…

At least one of their gf’s wasn’t too embarrassed to hang out with them in public.

    Why espouse this insanity?
Just because someone owns a gun does not mean they are “crazy, right wing nuts”.
Just because someone disagrees with another persons political point of view does not mean they should be vilified or berated…..
Divisive rhetoric serves only to divide this country….. Be it by race, gender, income or beliefs…..
Luke……the “hate” is strong with this one…………

    • William November 8th, 2014 at 12:58 pm

Just because someone owns a gun does not mean they are “crazy, right wing nuts”.
Just because someone disagrees with another persons political point of view does not mean they should be vilified or berated
      TRUE.
      But.
I’m going to go out on a limb here and disagree with the notion that John Wilkes Booth was “defending freedom” as was written by Gun Rights.
I actually think Booth murdered a President.
      I’m funny like that.

      • neworleans878 November 8th, 2014 at 1:08 pm

        You and your damn facts!

      • AZ November 8th, 2014 at 1:09 pm

No, I agree with you. But to say or imply through the article that those who own guns are crazy…..etc….
And the notion that murdering the president is the way to express freedom is way wrong.
There is no excuse for “murder”.

        • William November 8th, 2014 at 2:05 pm

Nobody implied that people who owned guns are crazy. (I’m a gun owner/ collector). What some of us ARE implying is the notion that Booth was defending freedom is crazy. Further the person that wrote it is likely crazy.

        • Larry Schmitt November 8th, 2014 at 2:36 pm

What William said. Most reasonable liberals are not against gun ownership, whether or not they own them themselves. What they are against is the fetishizing of guns to the extent that openly carrying guns everywhere is good, and any attempt to regulate them, which includes increasing safety awareness and training, and keeping them out of the hands of small children, and background checks to try to keep them out of the hands of disturbed people and felons, is bad. I think that sums it up.

        • Candide Thirtythree November 9th, 2014 at 2:25 am

My whole family is liberal to the bone and the majority of family members were in the military or law enforcement. We have a steel gun safe bolted to the wall with lots of guns, many are antiques that have been passed down for generations. Both of my kids were awarded medals for marksmanship from the military.

The difference is that none of us play with guns, no one wears AK47s to Wal-Mart like some demented redneck bling, we don’t leave them laying around for our children to kill themselves or others with and we do not threaten to kill anyone with them.

The idea that gun nuts have about liberals wanting guns taken away from everyone is just insane.

The idea that gun nuts have about liberals being an easy target because they think we don’t have guns and the expertise to use them is also insane.

    • Pablo November 8th, 2014 at 2:31 pm

I’m comfortable calling someone a “crazy, right-wing gun nut” if they: 1) Encourage assassinating President Obama or any other president or politician; 2) Condone or promote how Booth assassinated President Lincoln, an American great; and 3) Discourage voting, an important part of our democratic republic, and instead encourage anarchy via assassination and inspired by bigotry and radical ideology.

O.M.G. Russell Bruneau’s spelling is atrocious!

  4. Red Eye Robot November 8th, 2014 at 1:05 pm

You guys sure liked free speech when people were making movies about how to assassinate Bush. For some perspective this graph illustrates how big this “alleged” group really is.

    • rg9rts November 8th, 2014 at 1:07 pm

It only takes one bullet moron

    • neworleans878 November 8th, 2014 at 1:17 pm

Nope. Spoke against that big time.

Once went much further than that…when Hinckley tried to assassinate Reagan, there was DJ at my university that said it was a good thing. Me and several fellow liberal students started a petition that caused her to lose her airtime all together.

And NONE of us were fans of the President.

That’s what confuses me about the right these days…you don’t have to like our leader, but one should NEVER sit by passively when violence is threatened.

    • tiredoftea November 8th, 2014 at 1:33 pm

We still like free speech. We still don’t like the willfully ignorant to advocate the murder of a President. We still don’t like the false equivalence of the fringe right to mask the awful rage of its members.

    • arc99 November 8th, 2014 at 1:57 pm

The movie about the Bush assassination portrayed the killer as a Syrian sniper. Hardly a sympathetic character. Also, the filmmaker was not advocating the murder of the President.

Take off your partisan blinders just for a second. Or is endorsing murder of the President of the United States the latest agenda update for the pro-life “family values” crowd?

      • iyamwhatiyam November 8th, 2014 at 3:21 pm

You did not see the movie, did you? It was a black American family man, and they did glorify it.

        • arc99 November 8th, 2014 at 3:31 pm

and the race of the shooter in the movie is relevant how?

        • jasperjava November 9th, 2014 at 6:47 pm

I saw the movie. They did not “glorify” the assassination. They presented a realistic vision of what would happen, which included an innocent Syrian man being accused, Cheney using this as an excuse to invade Syria, and a moving funeral for the assassinated B*$h, including touching tearful testimony from friends and advisors.

We also feel sympathy for the shooter, whose son needlessly lost his life in Dubya’s murderous misadventure in Iraq.

    • William November 8th, 2014 at 2:02 pm

      Cute
Now get to the part that links “Us Guys” with the graph.

    • annaaurora November 8th, 2014 at 4:49 pm

Wishing someone to die and actually saying I’m advocating taking guns and running off with my gang to assassinate said person….. moron. Democrats barely wish this. I am not one of them, I wish Scalia would have a heart attack, stroke, lightning strike anything before our President leaves office.

  5. rg9rts November 8th, 2014 at 1:06 pm

Why doesn’t the SS just bring these clowns in for a little sitdown???

  6. Ol Blue November 8th, 2014 at 1:40 pm

These groups, along with limbaugh and beck, are fishing for someone to assassinate PBO. No one should be surprised when the attempt is made.

    • William November 8th, 2014 at 2:12 pm

No one should be surprised when the attempt is made.
Or when they actually do it.

    • neworleans878 November 8th, 2014 at 2:18 pm

      Afterwards, they’ll deny any culpability.

Just like they did when George Tiller was killed.

  7. tiredoftea November 8th, 2014 at 1:42 pm

Oh FFS! These whack jobs sure are brave from behind a screen and keyboard. F’ing bunch of mouth breathing idiots who carry unloaded rifles and unloaded brains to prove their manhood to each other. It’s like reading the violent fantasies of six year old sexually abused boys.

    • tr60 November 9th, 2014 at 5:00 pm

Their brains may be unloaded but unfortunately they do carry loaded rifles, and absurdly lethal ones.

  8. Larry Schmitt November 8th, 2014 at 3:05 pm

Wow, browsing the Gun Rights Facebook page, there are some real lovely folks there. This is what one guy said: “Lincoln was a terrorist, South Carolina is and has been unlawfully occupied since 1865”
The scariest thing, of course, is that they actually believe what they are saying.

    • iyamwhatiyam November 8th, 2014 at 3:17 pm

I agree with him. Lincoln killed 620.000 Americans. More died in captivity than all of Viet Nam. I place Lincoln right up there with Stalin, Hitler, Pol Pot.

      • Larry Schmitt November 8th, 2014 at 3:21 pm

South Carolina fired on a federal military fort. Secession was illegal. The South wanted the war. Calling it the “war of northern aggression” is southern rationalization.

        • iyamwhatiyam November 8th, 2014 at 3:24 pm

Secession was not illegal. Lincoln never claimed it was. He baited the south by keeping Sumpter on their soil.

          • Larry Schmitt November 8th, 2014 at 3:34 pm

Article 1, section 10, of the Constitution reads: “No State shall enter into any Treaty, Alliance, or Confederation;”

          • arc99 November 8th, 2014 at 3:39 pm

            and treason was certainly illegal

            Article 3

            Section 3.

Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying war against them, or in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort.

          • Larry Schmitt November 8th, 2014 at 4:53 pm

And by the way, it’s Sumter.

          • allison1050 November 10th, 2014 at 9:27 pm

You’ve been reading those southern so called “history” books haven’t ya? ;o)

        • iyamwhatiyam November 8th, 2014 at 3:26 pm

Secession was illegal? Then we are no better that the Soviet Union, Holding free people against their will.

          • edmeyer_able November 8th, 2014 at 3:28 pm

            Shoo…you’re free to leave.

          • arc99 November 8th, 2014 at 3:36 pm

You are confused. It was the Confederate slavers who were holding free people against their will.

The Confederacy was a moral abomination based on the premise of the superiority of one human being over another, just like Nazi Germany.

          • whatthe46 November 8th, 2014 at 5:44 pm

“…Holding free people against their will.” you actually said that.

          • Anomaly 100 November 8th, 2014 at 5:58 pm

            Then leave this country.

            Problem solved!

  9. edmeyer_able November 8th, 2014 at 3:27 pm

I’m sure the owner of that page is a Black liberal……/s

  10. Robert Merrill Taylor November 8th, 2014 at 7:51 pm

Anyone who reads the Constitution of the Confederate States of America will realize that the Civil war was entirely and solely about keeping and expanding slavery. Gun Rights is a traitor who should be jailed for life for sedition.

Making a GREAT case for gun control.
