A really smart West Virginia man was transported to the hospital early Sunday morning with a gunshot wound after deputies say he was playing Russian Roulette.

[su_center_ad]Deputies say the gunshot wound was likely self-inflicted, but they are still investigating, according to WSAZ.

Only one person was reportedly playing Russian Roulette, but there were three adults in the home at the time.

The man’s condition isn’t known and his name isn’t being released at this time.

The sheriffs department does not suspect foul play.

Is there still a category for this activity in the Darwin awards?

    • R.J. Carter November 10th, 2014 at 9:44 am

Probably not. Russian Roulette is sort of like the tailgating event at the Super Bowl; it’s just too blase’ to qualify.

It’s not working adequately, more self-culling seems required.

The sarcasm factor wears thin …what a sad commentary on us as a society… armed stupidity

        • Par4thecourse November 10th, 2014 at 8:05 pm

Yes it is sad.. The problem is since the 1980s we have been relying upon the mentally ill to self medicate.. which was an asinine thought from the ‘get go’… and now instead of asylums or other mental facilities where they would be locked up and safe for society, they are out and about creating much harm to society as a whole.

This brilliant idea one does not have to look too far when the Feds stopped budgeting to help the states with their facilities…thus closing most of them down because the states could not afford to do it alone.

So unless a person who is not mentally aware of what they are doing commits a crime they are free to roam our streets. When they do commit a crime they are locked up in jail/prison with the occasional Psychologist/Psychiatrist looking in on them.

Needless to say but this creates many problems on our society and much harm to many victims.

“The sheriffs department does not suspect foul play.”, but is leaning towards morbid stupidity as the explanation.

There is no winner …Most humans call this attempted suicide

  9. Jeff Burton November 10th, 2014 at 9:53 pm

Hey Liberaland, you sure don’t know much about the case to be throwing so much attitude. No details to back up your super-sarcastic ‘really smart man’ comment. How do you know this wasn’t a suicide? Is it because he’s from West Virginia where you assume everybody is inbred? Give me an an F-ing break. Maybe a little more compassion and a little less condescension would suit you better.

When someone loads a gun and puts said gun to his head……what would you call it? I’m just grateful he didn’t shoot anyone else, they usually take out a few other people. I think they should always shoot themselves first! Just saying.

      • Par4thecourse November 12th, 2014 at 2:14 am

” I think they should always shoot themselves first!” .. I agree…EMTs and police have other things they could be doing and would not have to rush to the scene for some arsewipe that blew his brains out instead of shooting at innocent people. It would certainly remove many of the problems.. We could have “Hey moron with a gun bite down pull trigger Day” Detroit and many other cities would be cleaned up in a few weeks..and it would cost much less for the taxpayers.. and the medical schools would have an abundance of cadavers.
