The FBI is warning that when the grand jury reveals its findings in the case of officer Darren Brown, it “will likely” lead to protesters threatening and possibly attacking police.

[su_center_ad]

Peaceful protesters could be caught in the middle, and electrical facilities or water treatment plants could also become targets. In addition, so-called “hacktivists” like the group “Anonymous” could try to launch cyber-attacks against authorities.

“The announcement of the grand jury’s decision … will likely be exploited by some individuals to justify threats and attacks against law enforcement and critical infrastructure,” the FBI says in an intelligence bulletin issued in recent days. “This also poses a threat to those civilians engaged in lawful or otherwise constitutionally protected activities.”

The FBI bulletin expresses concern only over those who would exploit peaceful protests, not the masses of demonstrators who will want to legitimately, lawfully and collectively express their views on the grand jury’s decision.

The bulletin “stresses the importance of remaining aware of the protections afforded to all U.S. persons exercising their First Amendment rights of freedom of speech and freedom of assembly.”[su_csky_ad]

89 responses to FBI: Ferguson Decision ‘Will Likely’ Lead To Violence

  1. R.J. Carter November 17th, 2014 at 10:04 pm

Driving home last week or so ago, passing the sign “Historic Downtown Ferguson Next Left” with a military helicopter circling overhead… I get the feeling that was just the trailer for the drama to come.

    • Anomaly 100 November 17th, 2014 at 10:23 pm

      Stay safe R.J.

          Don’t worry. C&L is a shitty hellhole that’s not worth anyone’s time.
After years of posting there, those assholes banned me (over a year ago) for nothing more than not showing enough Snowden love and Greenwald worship. They don’t support diversity and free speech and are like Drudge for the left.
My life has gone along quite nicely without those small minded zealots.

          • tracey marie November 18th, 2014 at 8:29 am

I am being attacked by 2 posters there, accused of being a phobe. Squatters seem to cause problems and get others blamed…I fell for the taunts and reciprocated. A mod said I was being a phobe, another poster said…umm that was me.

          • KABoink_after_wingnut_hacker November 18th, 2014 at 8:33 am

It used to be a good site and I went there for years, but the mods are unreasonable jackasses. I don’t miss it at all any more.

          • tracey marie November 18th, 2014 at 8:36 am

I refuse to be scared away, I will post there and watch a few go crazy. I lost my temper the other day it will not happen again. The mod backed down but did not acknowledge they were wrong

          • tracey marie November 18th, 2014 at 8:36 am

several come here and lurk and report what is said here, they look for trouble

    • whatthe46 November 17th, 2014 at 10:24 pm

i have this sick feeling that the decision has already been made and not the outcome i’m at least hoping for. this should be a message for all law enforcement everywhere in this fk’n country… STOP the police brutality NOW! just look at this mess! i hope wilson (and the ferguson P.D.) is proud of him/themselves. racism and prejudging someone is not acceptable. a badge and a gun does not give you the right or authority to pass judgment and exact the death penalty upon any of our citizens. they need to get their sh’t together.

      • tracey marie November 17th, 2014 at 10:34 pm

A cop site showed them whining because they can not use sticks, can not intimidate by hitting the sticks on the ground and telling residents to arm themselves. They are angry they can not be in a lead position to hurt the fergusan protestors.

        • whatthe46 November 17th, 2014 at 11:13 pm

i’m gonna be sick over this i know it.

    • tracey marie November 17th, 2014 at 10:33 pm

yikes, stay home don’t try to drive

  2. KB723 November 17th, 2014 at 10:18 pm

To make such a statement would lead me to believe they already know the verdict and the whole ‘Grand Jury’ was a Sham from the get go, just to quell public opinion….

    • whatthe46 November 17th, 2014 at 10:27 pm

yep. i agree with you. and to think there’s no bias on this jury. wrong. we already know one of the jury members was speaking about her thoughts to a friend that was posted on the net. and i highly doubt the D.A. prosecuting the case and presenting the “facts” was interested in the first place.

      • KB723 November 17th, 2014 at 10:29 pm

        Suxz, I don’t see a good ending anytime soon….

        • tracey marie November 17th, 2014 at 10:36 pm

The way they manipulated and lied to cover this up is disgusting.

          • KB723 November 17th, 2014 at 10:45 pm

Sadly not the first time…. =(

    • tracey marie November 17th, 2014 at 10:32 pm

seems so, another site(s) said the verdict was expected on Monday and the hidden homeland security trucks nearby indicates you might be correct

      • KB723 November 17th, 2014 at 10:36 pm

I think I saw mention of that I also saw how they were really asking the GJ to take care in their decision… I go through soo many stories, even I get confused…

        • tracey marie November 17th, 2014 at 10:37 pm

It is confusing and scarey. I read the cops inciting violence and scareing the people

          • KB723 November 17th, 2014 at 10:43 pm

They know what’s on the way, a frightened people are easier to deal with….

          • whatthe46 November 17th, 2014 at 11:11 pm

but a pissed off people can be as well. let them protest peacefully. it only looks ugly when you have a fk’n army expecting something ugly and intimidating people who refuse to be intimidated. then that’s when all hell breaks loose.

          • KB723 November 17th, 2014 at 11:15 pm

            I guess time will tell…

          • whatthe46 November 17th, 2014 at 11:38 pm

yeah. and you don’t have to live in ferguson to feel the outrage if it goes in wilson’s favor. choke… its something that’s being discussed all over the world. tells you a lot about what the rest of the world thinks of our country and this case.

and wait for it to get cold

  3. Pistol-Packing AKA "Susie" November 17th, 2014 at 10:28 pm

Apparently the evidence is not there to warrant an indictment. The Justice Department has already pulled out of any indictment. If riots do happen, there will be a massive backlash against the protestors. the chant of “No Justice-No Peace” will basically become code for if we dont get what we want, we will just riot and cause destruction.

Well that just gives me a warm cozy feeling inside…

    • tracey marie November 17th, 2014 at 10:35 pm

rotflmao…yeah, because a secret jury is giving info to papers and their friends

      • whatthe46 November 17th, 2014 at 11:09 pm

“secret” yep. “…”No Justice-No-Peace”…” is not a fk’n code word for, blah blah blah. that’s where ignorance comes in. if your son had been shot 6 times, twice in the head, found with no weapon on him, and the person responsible is a known racist cop, you’d be just as upset. its not justice for anyone to be shot down unarmed by a fk’n cop. disgusting.

        • tracey marie November 18th, 2014 at 6:50 am

          I hear you and agree

        • R.J. Carter November 18th, 2014 at 9:28 am

What’s the decryption of “Who do we want?” “Darren Wilson!” “How do we want him?” “Dead!” so that i can be hep to the lexicon.

          • tracey marie November 18th, 2014 at 12:02 pm

better rhetoric to actual dead people like say…Micheal Brown

          • sbslabradors November 18th, 2014 at 3:07 pm

But you’re okay with Wilson supporters throwing beer bottles and hurling insulting at the peaceful protesters? You do like a double standard.

          • R.J. Carter November 18th, 2014 at 3:56 pm

Actually, no, I am not and I do not (but thanks for trying). No throwing from either side please.

    • joe barry November 17th, 2014 at 11:38 pm

The Feds have never committed to pulling out of an indictment. And, the St. Louis Chapter of the KKK are a joke, and had their brains beat in by Anonymous.

    • Foundryman November 18th, 2014 at 12:12 am

..”if we don’t get what we want, we will just riot and cause destruction”…

Now you’re just repeating what Cliven Bundy said…..can you at least try to be original?….

      • rg9rts November 18th, 2014 at 3:54 am

Boy are you expecting a lot from that tw….

    • ChrisVosburg November 18th, 2014 at 7:55 am

Susan writes: The Justice Department has already pulled out of any indictment.

Don’t recall the announcement. Could you link to it, please?

      • Pistol-Packing AKA "Susie" November 18th, 2014 at 10:47 am

I thought you refused to call me “Susie/Susan” ???

        • ChrisVosburg November 18th, 2014 at 10:56 am

Naw mang, just objected to the diminutive “Susie”, and don’t change the subject, Susan.

          • Pistol-Packing AKA "Susie" November 18th, 2014 at 12:53 pm

            Good to know.

Besides all the talking heads on TV, it has been widely reported they cant make the case. Here is a WP article for one. http://www.washingtonpost.com/world/national-security/federal-civil-rights-charges-unlikely-against-police-officer-in-ferguson-shooting/2014/10/31/56189d80-6055-11e4-8b9e-2ccdac31a031_story.html

Just like the Zimmerman/Trayvon case, they will say it is ongoing and will keep it lingering to show good faith.

          • sbslabradors November 18th, 2014 at 3:05 pm

That is over a month and a half old. Nice try. The WP was taken to task for their lack of ethical reporting.

          • Pistol-Packing AKA "Susie" November 18th, 2014 at 3:09 pm

try watching the news and read a little. The evidence that is being reported will not support a civil rights or criminal charge.

          • OldLefty November 18th, 2014 at 3:19 pm

What lack of ethical reporting and taken to task by whom?

          • ChrisVosburg November 18th, 2014 at 5:39 pm

Yes, I totally can see how this WaPo article supports your contention that “The Justice Department has already pulled out of any indictment.”

Especially inasmuch as it contains this statement from DOJ spokesman Brian Fallon:

“This is an irresponsible report by The Washington Post that is based on idle speculation.”

Honestly, Susan, you are such a caution!

          • Pistol-Packing AKA "Susie" November 18th, 2014 at 5:54 pm

            but of course it does..

    • sbslabradors November 18th, 2014 at 3:02 pm

You must know something no one else in the nation knows. Amazing. *golf clap*

  4. Foundryman November 17th, 2014 at 11:51 pm

When the indictment comes down and the murdering cop gets arrested, who do they think will be going violent? The KKK?
The point is, there’s enough evidence here clearly pointing to the cop killing an unarmed kid for no reason, or for jay walking. I expect the GJ to indict him for something less than murder since he’s a cop. Shooting a fleeing unarmed teenager 6 times in broad daylight and getting away with it? I don’t think so. But we’ll see.

    • sbslabradors November 18th, 2014 at 3:01 pm

7 they found another one in his chest. Baden testified to it.

  5. tiredoftea November 18th, 2014 at 12:56 am

We are watching the human version of the “observer effect”. What has the governor put into action?

    • rg9rts November 18th, 2014 at 3:53 am

Open season on blacks by the cops

      • R.J. Carter November 18th, 2014 at 9:25 am

That’s odd. The flyers I saw on the news said almost exactly the opposite: “Keep Calm and Kill Cops.”

        • rg9rts November 18th, 2014 at 12:09 pm

go take a GOOD listen to Nixon …he should be arrested for inciting a riot

          • Foundryman November 18th, 2014 at 12:15 pm

That’s what I thought to…Where does he get off taking preemptive measures where there is no evidence anything will occur? He’s the one planning on a violent confrontation.

          • rg9rts November 18th, 2014 at 12:34 pm

I couldn’t believe my ears..We got all this good cop stuff and the national guard too!!! Bring it on!!

        • sbslabradors November 18th, 2014 at 3:00 pm

Proof please. All I have seen are the KKK ones. If you have others please post them.

          • R.J. Carter November 18th, 2014 at 3:30 pm

While I can find several images, I can’t find the specific story that was a throwaway line at the end of a GMA segment yesterday morning about a police officer in Georgia finding the flyer on his door. (It was 3 minutes on Ferguson, wrapping with that last line, as if it underscored the mounting tensions.)

    • whatthe46 November 18th, 2014 at 4:26 am

exactly. he has set the stage!

  6. fahvel November 18th, 2014 at 3:05 am

the expression “lawfully and peacefully expressing views” means what? and then, achieves what? It seems the fbi is actually (possibly unwhittingly) setting the stage for something that might not have ever happened and now, if the jury makes an anti public decision, will possibly happen.

    • greenfloyd November 18th, 2014 at 6:10 pm

The Grand Jury is made up of members of the public selected at random. They are instructed to determine if a crime has been committed. Their decision is nether pro- or anti-public, because they are the public!

  7. rg9rts November 18th, 2014 at 3:52 am

This is news???? That clown Nixon(must run in the family) deliberately stands up and provokes the community to act in a violent way …and the trigger happy thugs with badges…don’t forget the KKK members(with badges) that promised violence and see the governors statement as a declaration of open season on blacks…

  8. Bunya November 18th, 2014 at 2:20 pm

If they think the decision is going to lead to violence, then I think we already know what the decision is going to be. I’m afraid this is nothing more than another Trayvon Martin case.
