With a grand jury decision on Ferguson Officer Darren Wilson pending, there is much tension between authorities and protesters.

[su_center_ad]

Following weeks of intense negotiations, local police officials and Ferguson protesters have agreed to a dozen policies for how any future protests will be policed – but have yet to reach consensus over whether tear gas and riot gear will be used or if the protesters will get advanced notice of when the grand jury will announce its decision regarding Ferguson Officer Darren Wilson.

The negotiations have centered on 19 “Rules of Engagement” proposed by a coalition of 50 community and civil rights groups in an effort to avoid the violent clashes that brought worlwide attention to Ferguson after the shooting of a black teenager in August…

Negotiations on Tuesday continued to stall, however, over seven of the proposals, including the coalition’s request to give protesters 48 hours’ notice prior to the grand jury announcement.

The three departments – called the “unified command” for police response to protests — have also not agreed to the coalition’s request that police be dressed in minimal gear and that tear gas, tactical vehicles and rubber bullets not be used, a coalition leader said.[su_csky_ad]

I’ll never understand why people insist on destroying their neighborhoods when they’re pissed about something…

I agree they should do peaceful protest like Martin Luther King advocated, no wait he was shot or maybe like John Lennon, no wait he was shot…I got it!Like Gandhi!

      • Bob Cronos November 18th, 2014 at 11:54 pm

You remember their names because they succeeded with peaceful protests – not violent ones…

        • whatthe46 November 19th, 2014 at 12:15 am

yes, but they too were subjected to violence by the police and remember, in riot gear, regardless.

        • Carla Akins November 19th, 2014 at 4:52 am

          The protestors are non-violent.

          • rg9rts November 19th, 2014 at 4:53 am

The governor should be arrested for inciting to riot

          • Carla Akins November 19th, 2014 at 6:52 am

Agreed. He seems clueless, unlike Capt. Jackson that seems is entire intent is to incite.

Then wouldn’t it stand to reason that no matter what Nixon says there will be no riot?

          • Carla Akins November 19th, 2014 at 8:45 am

There are still criminals, I’m only saying based on the original protests – they were not violent. The looting and vandalizing was not committed to the protesters.

          • Bob Cronos November 24th, 2014 at 2:16 am

We’ll see in the next few days I guess…

Hey Bob. I know I am hoping for some smart behavior. Of course whenever emotions are involved it gets dicey. Regardless of how the Mr may feel on a subject, he likes to play my devil’s advocate – yesterday I considered killing him in his sleep.

Just saying emotional responses can get out of hand quickly. 🙂

I don’t agree with violent protest but it seems violence is the only solution Americans know.

          • Bob Cronos November 24th, 2014 at 2:17 am

            Hardly…

    • whatthe46 November 18th, 2014 at 11:17 pm

i never understand why people insist on destroying other people’s property and riot when they win a ball game and have absolutely nothing to be pissed about.

      • Bob Cronos November 18th, 2014 at 11:47 pm

          • Matt Dillon November 19th, 2014 at 8:17 am

We have to show an ID to buy firearms, bank, pharmacy and doctors visits etc…..I don’t understand why we on the left should have an issue with it.

          • Bob Cronos November 20th, 2014 at 7:43 pm

            No problem…

    • Carla Akins November 19th, 2014 at 4:51 am

The protestors have no desire or intention to destroy their community, in fact, its concern for their community that drives them to protest. Thousands of people have peacefully and legally protested against the systematic abuse seen in Ferguson.
A handful of criminals chose to use the opportunity to loot, vandalize and generally create mayhem. Should the acts of a dozen criminals strip me and thousands like of our 1st amendment rights to speak up against injustice?

So in effect you’re saying don’t judge an entire group by a few individuals?

        • Bob Cronos November 24th, 2014 at 2:19 am

“So in effect you’re saying don’t judge an entire group by a few individuals?” — Like the GOP?

Is that a real photo of the ferguson police???? If yes, send them to iraq where that stuff might be used or probably stolen by iraguis and turned back on the cops.

  7. rg9rts November 19th, 2014 at 4:50 am

When asked who is in charge …that dopey bastard Nixon duhed and hemmed and hawed…plain and simple THERE IS NO ONE IN CHARGE! So they open fire and point fingers at one another saying he started it

That picture from the Bundy ranch?

  9. Pundit456 November 21st, 2014 at 3:59 pm

Who knew there were so many hopeless racists without real lives in Ferguson Missouri? Not one of them is willing to look past color to get the facts. The same people who would decry a lynch mob have no compunction about being a part of one.
What can they possibly hope to accomplish? How many of them were active in Mike Brown’s life?
There should be no advance notice; tear gas and rubber bullets in full effect and they should have to bear the costs for manpower and materials.
