The following marks the eleventy thousandth excuse by Republicans in opposition to skeery immigrants remaining in our country. The top excuse is that Obama’s for it, so Republicans are against it.

[su_center_ad]The other excuses are: Obama.

MSNBC reports:

Republican Rep. Michele Bachmann believes that President Barack Obama’s anticipated executive action on immigration could create “illiterate” Democratic voters, she said in comments reported by The Washington Post’s Robert Costa on Wednesday.

Obama will unveil his plans for immigration reform, which could protect millions of undocumented immigrants from deportation, in a prime-time speech on Thursday.

“Even though the president says they won’t be able to vote, we all know that many, in all likelihood, will vote,” Bachmann reportedly said. “The president has a very single-minded vision. He’s looking at new voters for 2016 … People do vote without being a citizen. It’s a wink and a nod, we all know it’s going to happen.”

In addition to alleging that voter fraud is commonplace, Bachmann claimed that U.S. taxpayers would bear the “social cost” of “millions of unskilled, illiterate, foreign nationals coming into the United States who can’t speak the English language.”

In response to a question about whether she was referring to Spanish speakers when using the word “illiterate,” Bachmann said, “Some are, some aren’t. I’ve been down to the border. The reason why I would say that is I spent four days at the border and spoke to American Hispanics on the border. That’s what they told me.”

So she’s saying that Hispanics told her they were illiterate. That’s highly doubtful.

Bachmann went on to say that she wasn’t using a “pejorative term” but just repeating what Hispanic people had told her during her trip.

So much for that GOP minority outreach effort. It lasted for an entire New York minute. [su_csky_ad]

But it would never match the number of stupid Republicans in congress. And no one could ever excel to her particular special form of stupidity.

      IKR they’re not “scientists”.

        lol yep..

  2. edmeyer_able November 20th, 2014 at 12:38 pm

Democratic voters aren’t illiterate they’re apathetic. On another note I fear that those growing up today don’t know much about the Holocaust but that 75 years from now the youth will know about the kardashians.

  3. Wayout November 20th, 2014 at 12:40 pm

Too late Michelle, they already are. People who support the Democrats vote celebrity and do not care one wit about the Constitution. All we have to do is witness the outpouring of Democrat support for the current occupant of the White House who thumbs his nose at the rule of law.

    • edmeyer_able November 20th, 2014 at 12:40 pm

      lol

    • granpa.usthai November 20th, 2014 at 12:45 pm

you should write a letter to the chief law enforcement officer of the USA and let him know what’s going on!

    • Anomaly 100 November 20th, 2014 at 12:52 pm

‘Sup Wayout? I thought maybe you’d like to borrow and even broader stereotypical paintbrush to use.

      You’re welcome!

Let’s see, one taught constitutional law and the other writes hateful, inaccurate posts on the Internet. Who should we believe?

        • Anomaly 100 November 20th, 2014 at 3:16 pm

          I just can’t decide.

What, did the coin land on it’s side and get stuck in some mud and your now confused? Just pick that coin-up and give it to me and take my advice and go for the one that has been winning the elections and ignore the troll.

          • mmaynard119 November 21st, 2014 at 9:16 pm

And he writes hateful, inaccurate posts on the Internet from his mother’s basement. He has to be a reliable source for constitutional law.

    • OldLefty November 20th, 2014 at 12:56 pm

Isn’t That what WE always said about people who support Republicans.

While they questioned that patriotism of EVERYONE who dared to criticize Dear Leader as he shredded the Constitution.

Why don’t you come up with some original material?

    • causeican November 20th, 2014 at 1:15 pm

Well aren’t you and Michelle a couple of intellectuals. Can you please tell the rest of us how to think on every issue and political candidate. Our little brains are just in a tizzy.

    • ChrisVosburg November 20th, 2014 at 1:21 pm

Wayout calls out: the current occupant of the White House who thumbs his nose at the rule of law.

And then we say example please and then you post a reference to something Obama’s done that some republican or another has claimed is illegal, and it will then be rejoined with a raft of evidence showing that it isn’t, and then you’ll look awfully silly, so why don’t we just cut to the chase here:

You’re awfully silly; not to mention tiresome.

    • mmaynard119 November 20th, 2014 at 2:29 pm

Do you have your own key or do you have to ask your mother to let you out of the basement?

that equality under the law thing seems to gibve you teabaggs gas

    • arc99 November 20th, 2014 at 4:44 pm

Truly mind boggling how full of it you are.. Time and time again, I give you very specific quotations of the US Constitution to support my beliefs. All you ever provide in response is your OPINION, never what the Constitution actually says.

From I what I see, the person in this forum who cares least about the Constitution is you.

    • StoneyCurtisll November 20th, 2014 at 7:43 pm

I would have responded to your comment 7 hours ago, but, unlike you I was at work being a productive member of society..

And my comment to you is, you are full of crap, (as usual)

    • Dwendt44 November 21st, 2014 at 12:35 am

It’s not nice to laugh at retarded folks, but in your case, I’ll make an exception.

  4. granpa.usthai November 20th, 2014 at 12:44 pm

    deere michelle;
pailining out at Taco Bell for 4 days and 4 nights is not the same as being @ the border. I have been ACROSS the southern border many many times, and have yet to meet anyone on the other side above the age of 9 who doesn’t know where Bunker Hill is.

  5. Denise November 20th, 2014 at 12:57 pm

as long as they are literate enough to register as democrats and vote for the democratic party, that’s good enough..and, judging from. signs I saw with misspelled words, I bet the Latinos are more literate than the white folks that keep voting against their own interest

    • fahvel November 20th, 2014 at 1:12 pm

why do you say white folks in contrast to people from south and central america?

  6. KABoink_after_wingnut_hacker November 20th, 2014 at 1:05 pm

Fear, delusion, bigotry and segregation are defining characteristics of the republican party.

  7. Obewon November 20th, 2014 at 1:06 pm

Bachmann is a prime example that literacy in the USA is less than average among the top 40 OECD nations. We’re number 22 of 40 in literacy woo-hoo!

    • fahvel November 20th, 2014 at 1:11 pm

and proud of it too and if ya don’t agree the usa will blow you away.

Now, now. Let’s not go insulting pet rocks and Chia pets by comparing them to Great Lakes Barbie.

  10. ChrisVosburg November 20th, 2014 at 1:37 pm

I’d suggest that soon-to-be-former Rep Michele Bachmann may not be getting enough Carbon Dioxide, and encourage her to forego oxygen entirely for a breathing regimen consisting entirely of this life-giving gas. After all, as Michele explains, Plants Come A Runnin’ For That Carbon Dioxide!

    • Dwendt44 November 20th, 2014 at 4:20 pm

Her plastic surgery is about to expire, that’s why she’s not running again.

  11. M D Reese November 20th, 2014 at 2:20 pm

If she’s really concerned about illiterate voters, I could point her towards a whole passel of home grown ones. Actually, more willfully ignorant than illiterate I guess. They refuse to understand things whether they are written or delivered orally.

  12. M D Reese November 20th, 2014 at 2:21 pm

I don’t think I could have said it any better!

  13. arc99 November 20th, 2014 at 4:48 pm

Once again, right wingers make up BS out of thin air, then present their fairy tale as if it were an immutable law of physics.

Bachman says ““Even though the president says they won’t be able to vote, we all know that many, in all likelihood, will vote,”

Yes Michelle, just like we all know that the birth certificate is fake, the President is a secret Muslim, death panels will order grandma to be euthanized, the moon landing was a hoax, Bigfoot is living in my neighbor’s garage, etc. etc.

Although I must admit there are some strange sounds coming from my neighbor’s garage. He claims it is a ’57 Chevy that needs a new muffler.

  14. AmusedAmused November 20th, 2014 at 5:12 pm

Someone should really look into Bachmann’s Swiss citizenship debacle. I’ve known some Swiss citizens who became naturalized in the 1970’s and 1980’s. My understanding is, prior to 1992, Switzerland did not allow multiple citizenship; applicants were required to renounce other citizenships. Did Bachmann renounce her US citizenship? Maybe, maybe not, but this is certainly worth a look! Chances are, she was never eligible to serve in Congress (or to reside in the US even). Would serve all those birthers right!
Even if she did not renounce her US citizenship, Swiss naturalization law still requires, at a minimum — even from those who get naturalized through marriage — evidence of integration into Swiss society and culture, and a demonstrated commitment to being Swiss. Which would certainly cast doubt on Bachmann’s Real-Americanness, that’s so important to her party. I mean, if she spent decades being a patriotic Swiss, she could not have simultaneously been a patriotic American, no? In a conflict between Switzerland and the US, whose side would she be on? I know how she would have been expected to answer that question when asked by a Swiss government official handling her naturalization process. Or is that only an issue if you are brown?

  15. Suzanne McFly November 20th, 2014 at 5:55 pm

Illiterate Democrats as opposed to the illiterate republicans who voted for her?

  16. Budda November 20th, 2014 at 7:12 pm

Gees, Michele, the stupid, it hurts!

  17. StoneyCurtisll November 20th, 2014 at 7:32 pm

Michel Bachmann is ignorant on so many levels..
First of all, noting the president is proposing is granting citizenship to anyone…
    They cannot vote.

Bachmann, like Cruz routinely lie to their constituents, because they are too stupid to know any better.

  18. StoneyCurtisll November 20th, 2014 at 7:59 pm

Michel Bachmann (responding to her claim they are illiterate) “Some are, some aren’t. I’ve been down to the border. The reason why I
would say that is I spent four days at the border and spoke to American
Hispanics on the border. That’s what they told me.”

I wonder which language they were speaking and if she, (Bachmann) could understand their comments in both languages that nearly all “Hispanic” Americans speak.

  19. searambler November 20th, 2014 at 8:32 pm

Ah yes, using the tried and true “we all know…” argument. Quintessential Republican bullshit at its finest…..
