Annoying, wrong, religious zealot, insensitive to others and feels persecuted.
Sounds like a model young republican!

  2. Gindy51 November 25th, 2014 at 7:33 am

Oh lovely a religious bigoted bully. He should fit right in with the rest of the religious nuts.

The school is not preventing him from “practicing” his faith. They are preventing him from trying to shove it down the throats of a captive audience, which he doesn’t have the right to do.

    • R.J. Carter November 25th, 2014 at 8:47 am

What if a core tenet of “practicing his faith” is in telling as many other people as he can? (For the record, anything on school property I believe falls under the school’s right to regulate, and that includes dress codes, behavior, and even the school newspaper content.)

      • Larry Schmitt November 25th, 2014 at 9:07 am

Then his religion conflicts with, as you said, the school’s right to regulate what goes on during school hours on school grounds. And yes, I realize you’re just playing devil’s advocate. People eventually have to learn that they don’t have an absolute right to anything, or not very many things, anyway. It’s better he learns it now.

Anyone would be hard pressed to find any right that is absolute.

          • M D Reese November 25th, 2014 at 12:25 pm

Except for the second half of the second amendment…

      • M D Reese November 25th, 2014 at 12:25 pm

Then that’s just too bad. The rest of us have the right to be free of it.

        • R.J. Carter November 25th, 2014 at 12:33 pm

          Free from practicing it, yes.

          • M D Reese November 25th, 2014 at 2:57 pm

And free from having it practiced ON us in the public arena.

          • R.J. Carter November 25th, 2014 at 3:36 pm

But not free from hearing it.

          • M D Reese November 25th, 2014 at 3:46 pm

Right– I hope he moves in next door to you.

He has the right to tell people, yes, not scream it. And the people he tells has the right to walk away, to tell him no thanks, and to complain about harassment. How would you react if it were a Muslim? They have just as much right to tell people about their faith……..

Leal’s attorneys supplied by a religious organization, Pacific Justice Institute says that by not allowing him to preach and hand out pamphlets at school, the district is interfering with his right to practice his faith
Be careful what you wish for.

Yup–of course then they claim that freedom of religion is just for christians…

The Satanic Temple is doing a lot of good work on church/state issues:

It’s not a free speech issue. Taxpayers funds should not be utilized to enable Leal to conduct his blatant in-your-face proselytizing on public school property. Students have a right not to be forced to listen to his rantings, especially through an amplified bullhorn.

I wish we could all be protected from hearing messages that annoy us from other people shouting.

    • Larry Schmitt November 25th, 2014 at 9:52 am

My father used to keep fox news on at full volume, so whenever I called it was there in the back (fore) ground. Talk about annoying and shouting. They should change their name to Annoying and Shouting Not News Network.

He doesn’t need a lawyer–he needs a de-programming expert and some time in a mental facility. If he was yelling about something other than his religious delusions, that is where he would be.

A little early in the Holiday Season for fruitcake!

  12. Bunya November 25th, 2014 at 2:20 pm

Oh great! Another religious fanatic bitching and moaning about how Christians are so persecuted! So maligned! So vilified! Blah, blah blah.
Why is it only the Christians who suffer from histrionic personality disorder? Geez, one would think they corner the market on attention seeking.
