[su_csky_ad]Actor Jon Voight spoke to Page Six:

The conservative “Deliverance” star — who recently criticized President Obama’s use of executive privilege in the Washington Times — told us at a Children of Chernobyl gala at Pier 60, “We’ve been losing so much over these past years of what keeps our country strong and what keeps our people safe. We can’t let this thing slide — this magnificent country of ours — slip away.”

He added, as if speaking directly to Obama: “Come on, you took an oath, respect it!”

    Oh gag me.

I would change one word in your post.

I would substitute in your original text, the word “bite”. I will leave it to you to guess which word I would replace.

      • M D Reese November 27th, 2014 at 2:16 pm

Thanks–sometimes these guys just leave me without my usual words.

      • RK Johnston November 28th, 2014 at 1:52 am

Perhaps the word “eat” might be a even better alternative!

The President took the exact same oath as Abraham Lincoln who with a stroke of the pen, issued an executive order called the Emancipation Proclamation which was the first step in changing this country for the better.

If Mr. Voight and like-minded individuals do not like the lawful policies implemented by a twice-elected President using his the legal authority of that office, I suggest they heed the same advice they so arrogantly dispensed to us liberals between 2000 and 2008.

They told us, that if we did not like the way the country is being run, try winning an election. Well that is what we did.

Don’t know where right wingers get this delusional notion that simply because the occupant of the Oval Office is not someone they voted for, it is the end of civilization as they know it. It is their turn to try winning an election. Preferably, an election where turnout is larger than the 70 year low voter turnout of November 2014.

    • whatthe46 November 27th, 2014 at 12:56 am

their delusion was, they didn’t figure a black man with intelligence could actually become president and run the country better than themselves. what a low blow. you’d think they’d get over it by now.

These are the same ones who continue to fight the Civil War and they defend the loosing side, common sense is not their strong suit.

Never having even run a lemonade stand, Obama was totally un-qualified to be the chief executive. He was a “community organizer”, one who confronts others rather than seeking genuine compromise to solve problems. We can see the results as he pitted white against black, rich against poor, and non – citizen against citizen. So much promise, so little positive result.

        • OldLefty November 27th, 2014 at 8:16 am

Actually, a community organizer, (who reaches across the aisle to work with local businesses, local government, the people and churches, is certainly more qualified than those who ran lemonade stands, and than ran the world’s economy into the ground. (They couldn’t even run their own campaigns)

          Meanwhile under the watch of the community organizer;

corporate profits are at record highs, the country’s adding 200,000 jobs per month, unemployment is below 6%, U.S. gross national product growth is the best of the OECD countries.

The dollar is at its strongest levels in years, the stock market is near record highs, gasoline prices are falling, there’s no inflation, interest rates are the lowest in 30 years, U.S. oil imports are declining, U.S. oil production is rapidly increasing, the deficit is rapidly declining, and the
wealthy are still making astonishing amounts of money.

America is leading the world once again and respected internationally — in sharp contrast to the Bush years.

          • Wayout November 27th, 2014 at 8:41 am

Corporate profits at record highs? He sure took care of his cronies, especial GE. (They still pay virtually no taxes) And all the while wages for the middle class are stagnant, more folks have left the workforce, and there are more people on government handouts than ever before. Hey, I thought Obama was for the little guy. I guess that was just another of his lies, hey bucko?

As for oil and gas, this has happened in spite of Obama. All new drilling has taken place on private lands, as Obama has put most public properties off limits. And the dollar is still crap, it now buys a fraction of what it did even 10 years ago, with China and Russia looking to replace the dollar as the world trading currency.

And China, how more do we owe them since Obama has been in charge? And you also forgot to mention food prices, which keep rising under Obama. Where have you been, bacon is like 7 bucks a pound! Good grief, you cannot spin off all of Obama’s poor leadership as good governance.

please stop pretending that low corporate taxes represent anything to you other than another opportunity to launch an unhinged tirade against the President.

if increasing the tax rate on corporations is important to you then, get behind the candidacy of US Senator Bernie Sanders R-VT

According to the information here on Sen. Sanders’ website, the CEO’s of all 10 companies on this list, including #1 GE advocate raising the eligibility age for Medicare and Social Security which is a standard component of Republican proposals to “reform” these vital programs.

When corporations pay too little in taxes, you whine and bash the President. When corporations pay higher taxes, you whine and bash the President. Given that kind of relentless intellectual dishonesty, why the heck should anyone care what you think?

And yet he rescued the economy from the Republican Depression – more than doubled the returns on my 401k – brought the economy from the brink the corrupt Republicans led us to. Imagine what he could have accomplished if he had the amazing business mind of George W Bush.

    • Wayout November 27th, 2014 at 7:56 am

We of the just won the last election and Obama ignored the voter’s wishes. His policies were soundly rejected and Obama and Co. had nothing but spin to offer on the results. Those who did not vote this past November forfeited their right to complain about anything that happened. The Bamster will go down in history as the most rogue president since Nixon, and that is quite a feat.

      • OldLefty November 27th, 2014 at 8:10 am

We of the just won the last election and Obama ignored the voter’s wishes.

        ______

And you deserve as much respect as you gave the many, many more voters who cast THEIR ballots in 2008 and 2012.

So get back to us when Democrats have meeting with Frank Luntz to plan how to “deprive the Republicans of any bipartisan victories”, (even for things that THEY supported in the recent past).

As for “he Bamster will go down in history as the most rogue president since Nixon, and that is quite a feat.”….

He has to get in line behind Reagan and Bush.

      • Hirightnow November 27th, 2014 at 8:49 am

        “Rogue president”….

        Is that anything like a“RenegadePervert”???

        • Bruce Perry November 27th, 2014 at 8:30 pm

Nope. You’re thinking RenegadePervert as in $epiblikanPerverts – you know, like ones who take wide stances in airport men’s rooms. THOSE $epublikan perverts…

      • arc99 November 27th, 2014 at 10:27 am

we do not have a President named “bamster”

why is it that you right wingers have such hatred that you cannot even refer to the President of the United States with respect. No matter how much I have disagreed with the policies if his GOP predecessors, I make a point of extending the respect of referring to them as President Bush, Mr. Reagan etc.

You refused to accept the results of the 2012 Presidential election. So typical of right wingers to whine when you are treated in the same manner, you treat everyone else. See you in 2016. When the Democrats take the White House, re-take the Senate and decrease the GOP majority in the House, I presume you will concede that America has soundly rejected GOP policies. .

My hunch is you will do no such thing and claim that we have a second President Clinton only because of voter fraud. After all, every true right wing patriot knows that voter fraud is like judicial activism. It only happens when you lose.

        • Bruce Perry November 27th, 2014 at 8:26 pm

But we DO have a Speaker of the House named Boner.

      • Bruce Perry November 27th, 2014 at 8:24 pm

And how’s that “win” going for ya so far. $EPUBLIKANS in chaos. Obama over-rules them on immigration and they can’t think of a thing to do about it! Coming soon: Presidential vetoes, filibusters, court battles. I’m thinking the voters in are going to be upset with $EPUBLIKANS in 2 years when they accomplish nothing but more partisan, reicht-wing politics and endless gridlock. I mean ya’ll PROMISED to “move the country forward”.
By the way, I voted and I absolutely support Obama.

I ran into Jon Voight once in Studio City, McDonalds, he’s not shy and a force to be reckoned with his daughter and son in-law carry concealed hero’s. I see Hollywierd is turning around, once America has had enough of the partner couples , producer pedophiles and Israelite’s, they’ll all get kicked out of CA, we can go back to calling it Hollywood.

    • OldLefty November 27th, 2014 at 12:16 pm

Like all the conservative movie moguls?

    • arc99 November 27th, 2014 at 1:57 pm

Normal, sane people never stopped calling it Hollywood.

In any case, Hollywood is not a separate city. It is a district of the city of Los Angeles. The 2008 and 2012 election returns show that the President carried Los Angeles county with almost 70% of the vote.

Have no idea what you mean by “turning around”. But according to the only poll that counts, looks like all of Los Angeles including the Hollywood district will be liberal and Democratic for years to come.

One right wing ideologue does not a turnaround make.

  7. Bruce Perry November 27th, 2014 at 8:11 pm

How funny. Cut rate, washed-up, Charleton-Heston-wannabe decides he’s got something “profound” to say. Nice job Johnny. Time to head back to Sun City and take your nap.

  8. RK Johnston November 28th, 2014 at 1:55 am

He took an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution Of The United States.
