WaPo: Wilson Violated Protocols
[su_right_ad]Officer Darren Wilson violated various protocols according actions described in grand jury testimony.
Wilson left the scene of the fatal shooting of unarmed teenager Michael Brown, the officer returned to the police station unescorted, washed blood off his hands and placed his recently fired pistol into an evidence bag himself.
Those actions, described in grand jury testimony, violated protocols for handling a crime scene and securing evidence, according to experts in policing procedures and Justice Department documents.
Wilson’s movements after the shooting were among a number of police actions in the aftermath of Brown’s death that experts said were unusual. The grand jury transcripts revealed, for example, that the officers who interviewed Wilson immediately after the shooting did not tape the conversations. The transcripts also showed that an investigator from the medical examiner’s office opted not to take measurements at the crime scene and arrived there believing that what happened between Brown and Wilson was “self-explanatory.’’

A shooting suspect — even a police officer — must be cordoned off in a controlled area and stripped of his clothing, his weapon secured by investigators, and must be escorted by officers if he leaves.
“An officer driving himself back? Wrong. An officer booking his own gun into evidence? Wrong,” said David Klinger, an expert on police shootings with the University of Missouri at St. Louis who is also a former police officer. “The appropriate investigative procedures were not followed.’’

Brown and his friend Dorian Johnson were walking in the street. Wilson rolled his patrol car window down and told them to get out of the street. Afterwards, he heard the call for the strongarm robbery of Swisher Sweets, committed by Johnson and Brown, and noticed that one of them was carrying a box that could have been Swisher Sweets. Wilson pulled over, and when he tried to get out of the car, he was pushed back into the car by Brown (twice). Brown then punched Wilson in the face and Darren reached for his gun. Brown went for the gun, pushing it against Wilson’s hip. Wilson pushed the gun away, and it went off. Brown and Johnson ran away. Wilson got out of the car and pursued. He told the pair to freeze. They both turned around. Brown taunted Wilson, then “bum rushed” him at full speed. That’s when Wilson started shooting.
UPDATE: According to a crime reporter for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, more than a dozen sources have corroborated Wilson’s version of the events. That’s game, set, and match for Wilson.

We KNOW Thug Brown committed a strong arm robbery immediately preceding his death. And Thug Brown knew it too. It doesn’t matter that the cop didn’t know. Thug Brown also knew his own rap sheet and if placed under arrest, the officer would find the stolen cigars. Thug Brown knew about 3 strikes laws too. And the Democrat Governor knows all of this, yet makes excuses for Thug Brown. Thug Brown’s community knew of his previous run-ins with the law too. Yet they “honor” his death by stealing. Why does the black community despise Clarence Thomas, Alan West, and Ben Carson, yet adore Rodney King, Thug Martin, and Thug Brown?

The actions of the Grand Jury were a joke – or should I say how they were manipulated. The true story of this will eventually come out and Darren Wilson will be proven to have – how shall we say it – overreacted? This young man should not have been killed.

I am assuming Wilson realizes he will never have a “normal” life. He will be marked forever.

So we pretty much know what happened in the Michael Brown incident. Brown fought with Officer Wilson and tried to escape. WIlson shot him from a considerable distance and then lied under oath. Then the DA covered up the killing and refused to prosecute. Three wrongs still don’t make a right.
