Red State Editor: ‘I’d Have Shot Mike Brown Right In His Face’
Red State contributing editor Ben Howe took to his Twitter account to weigh in on the Grand Jury’s decision to not indict Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson after shooting down unarmed teenager Michael Brown.

Talking Points Memo reports, ‘The conservative editor’s takeaway on Wednesday was brief but clear: He tweeted that, if he were in Wilson’s position, he would have “shot Mike Brown right in his face.”‘

A year or so ago, there was a gofundme.com campaign to raise money to cover care and support for his children while he was gravely ill and unable to work even as a columnist. The response crossed all ideological lines and there was even a blurb at dailykos.com which suggested making a contribution. I made one myself.
I had hoped that this display of non partisan human kindness would somehow temper his virulent hostility towards any opposing ideas. Clearly it did not. I feel like trying to get my money back.

ok give it up.Rational discussion is not likely to occur with you two….just emotional reactivity.You really don’t seem to know what you don’t know.Having suffered from the same condition before working as a therapist in a max security prison guess I should be a bit more understanding.One of the biggest things working there taught me was my not recognizing a reality,like in the Ferguson situation, put me and others at serious risk of harm or even death.My lack of willingness to see a very unpleasant reality in fact did put a few officers and inmates at risk once.That taught me to learn a bit more.One of the people who taught me was doing life but he didn’t see any enemy just someone he could enlighten a bit.That was more than 20 yrs ago and I’m still gratefull for what he taught me….who would have thought they would learn from a murderer doing life?
Go ride along with a few cops in a tough area or talk to a friend/relative who is a cop and see what and why they hold a viewpoint different than yours.Do volunteer work with convicts or addicts….they will enlighten you if you listen without prejudging what they have to say.
