[su_right_ad]You can blame it all on the ’60’s and the women’s libbers, says likely 2016 candidate Ben Carson.

“Certainly in a lot of our inner cities, in particular the black inner cities, where 73 percent of the young people are born out of wedlock, the majority of them have no father figure in their life. Usually the father figure is where you learn how to respond to authority. So now you become a teenager, you’re out there, you really have no idea how to respond to authority, you eventually run into the police or you run into somebody else in the neighborhood who also doesn’t know how to respond but is badder than you are, and you get killed or you end up in the penal system,” Carson said.

“If the so-called leaders were really interested in the community, they would be trying to deal with that problem, because that’s happening every single day,” he added.

When host Lauren Kitchen Stewards broke in to tie his remarks to young people’s “sense of entitlement,” Carson traced it all back to the women’s liberation movement.

“I think a lot of it really got started in the ’60s with the ‘me generation.’ ‘What’s in it for me?’ I hate to say it, but a lot of it had to do with the women’s lib movement. You know, ‘I’ve been taking care of my family, I’ve been doing that, what about me?’ You know, it really should be about us,” he said.

Huh, silly me. Here I was thinking it had to do with poverty and all of the fallout that it entails.

    • tiredoftea December 1st, 2014 at 5:13 pm

No, it’s your fault. It’s always been your fault, silly!

    • R.J. Carter December 1st, 2014 at 5:15 pm

Yeah, I was blaming it on Johnson’s Great Society initiative too.

    • MIAtheistGal December 1st, 2014 at 5:47 pm

The idea is very appealing, but I’d be tripping over the place.

Ah the effects of gravity….ever wonder why it doesn’t effect men the same way??

Is this guy really a dingbat, or does he just play one on TV?

“Hi my names Ben Carson and I’d like to alienate as many people as possible. Hmm lemme see I’ve already done that to black people but how can I get the two for one deal. Hey I know blame women all over for the perceived failings of another group entirely. Yeah, that will get me in the good graces of those I so sorely wish to identify with. SO good, finally a place where I can gladly suckle the teats of my owners like mana from heaven.

Pretty funny when these “people” surround themselves with others who think like them and they try to say the same type of sentiments out in public as if everyone supports their ignorance. Then they figure out they have to appeal to a larger portion than the 2% of the American morons they have been talking to and they have to walk the crazy back. We have seen time and time again that this does not work.

So, I guess role models like Michelle Duggar pumping out babies is his version of women’s liberation?

    • tracey marie December 1st, 2014 at 5:52 pm

He probably loves her, subservient, uneducated and with no dreams of being anything but a wife/mother without a thought in her head

    • M D Reese December 1st, 2014 at 7:15 pm

That human puppy mill is disgusting. AND selfish.

  6. tracey marie December 1st, 2014 at 5:51 pm

He has no respect for women, that is obvious. In his own words children learn respect only from fathers. He is an idiot outside of the operating room.

    • M D Reese December 1st, 2014 at 7:14 pm

In it as well I’ll bet. I know that I sure wouldn’t want to work with him or be worked on by him.

  7. Maxx44 December 1st, 2014 at 6:47 pm

How could a prestigious university like Johns Hopkins ever have hired this guy? Were they looking for a clown?

  8. M D Reese December 1st, 2014 at 7:13 pm

I find it incredibly hard to believe that this man is a brain surgeon.

Why he only does the gopee types removing that pesky grey matter.

“Early retired (uninsurable)” Birther Ben until 2016~ was raised by a single liberated working-poor mom, relying on government safety nets.

  10. Bunya December 1st, 2014 at 9:02 pm

Yep. A cop kills an unarmed black man and it can all be traced back to its roots – woman’s lib. You know, like lynching can be traced way back to trees.

I’ve heard that geniuses sometime lack common sense, but this is way beyond the pale of what can be considered rational thought.

    • Obewon December 1st, 2014 at 9:26 pm

Many doubt insane birther Ben could pass a three day psych ward evaluation. It’s no wonder Ben Carson believes our scientifically proven 4.51 B year old Earth, and 13.82 B year old universe were ‘born 6,000 years ago.’

  11. arc99 December 1st, 2014 at 9:29 pm

Yeah that’s the ticket. Let’s go back to the good old days before the 1960’s when only heterosexual white Christian males were entitled to equal rights.

Sad to say, ignorance does come in all colors and ethnicities.

  12. ExPFCWintergreen December 1st, 2014 at 11:19 pm

Oh, sure, the causal pathway is undeniable: Betty Friedan publishes “The Feminine Mystique” in 1963 –> Darren Wilson is born 23 years later –> Darren Wilson graduates high school in Texas (where “The Feminine Mystique” is mos’ def’ required reading) –> Darren Wilson goes to police academy in Texas (and police academies are notorious as seething hotbeds of riotgrrl activism) –> Darren Wilson guns down an unarmed civilian. Yep. The links couldn’t be clearer.

Ben Carson came in second to Romney in a recent poll of likely GOPER candidates and is being touted for his success. He came in behind the two time loser…that merely qualifies him for a participation ribbon…not accolades. I’m sure his Mom will give him an extra dessert for sticking in despite his losing status but that’s all he’s due.

  14. fancypants December 3rd, 2014 at 12:18 am

I wonder if all these thoughts are covered in the 2009 movie ?

Oh Yes Oh Yes…there is plenty of room in the gopee, clown car

  16. TrustQuest December 4th, 2014 at 11:45 pm

When I read the comments posted here about this article, it’s clear to me that Ben Carson is right! Our culture has become so “PC-drunk” that it’s made us completely incapable of hearing or understanding a “concept” because we’re so focused on a “word”. This inevitably causes us to be ignorant, choosing to make issues and whole ideologies about the “symptoms” of the problem instead of the problem itself. While the ignorant choose to waste their time bantering foolishly back and forth about “how” the message is being delivered, the message itself gets ignored or not even comprehended. If anyone believes that our society is a “better” one that pre-1960, then it is that mindset that will continue to deteriorate our society and send it deeper into an abyss. What kind of insanity says that a society with increased divorce rates, broken, homes, broken/lost children, increased murder rates, and open debauchery, is a better society than one with less of those things…simply because women can do “more of what they want for themselves?” I’ll tell you what kind…the narcissistic kind. which is what our society has become since the women’s lib movement. Mothers are no longer the nurturing parents they once were in pre-movement. They’ve become creatures who would put career before family, so they can “find themselves”. The result? Children with no guidance and an inability to value life or authority because the family structure has been exchanged for a paycheck and selfish desires. Today’s mother doesn’t raise their children, they would rather say, “I have to have me time.” It’s real funny how when a criminal gets killed, his mother is the first to say, “my child wasn’t bad”, “he didn’t deserve what happened”. My view is…if you were so concerned about your child then you would have made sure he wasn’t out in the street unsupervised and committing crimes! A concerned parent is “proactive” to prevent in any way possible, their child from making mistakes that they know would hurt them in the long term. Today’s moms (I say moms because women have effectively removed fathers from the family structure and they are primarily the sole parties responsible for rearing children) are “reactive” with their children, which does nothing to instill values in their children, which is evident in the outcome of our current society. The balance of the home that God intended has been replaced with a dollar substitute, which the masses clearly would rather have.
