[su_center_ad]Just in time for Thanksgiving last week, a man in Asheville, North Carolina broke into a gun safe at Walmart, and helped himself to an AR-15 rifle on-camera. He stuffed the gun down his pants, grabbed 150 rounds of ammo, and made his way out of the store. Now police are looking for the man, according…

he might even be armed and dangerous – sure must have been one subtle gun “safe”.

Hell, I got locked in an upstairs bedroom this summer and there wasn’t even a lock on the door. How they hell do you get into a locked gun safe in a store?

Tequila? That’s always my excuse lol

White guy, stealing expensive weapon at Walmart…security somehow misses it, or ignores it.

Black woman shoplifts stuff, shot dead by Walmart Security…

I think your story lacks correlation. Whether security missed or ignored this guy, the difference between the two stories is, your girl was caught redhanded. Tried to evade. Used her vehicle as a mechanism to attempt to get away by possibly injuring the person attempting to apprehend them. Who by the way was wearing clothes that would have completely identified him as an officer.

I think you need to go back to the drawing board on this one.

“That’s a powerful weapon to have out there on the streets without a license, background check, or any accountability.”

You can go to any gun show in the U.S.A. and buy an AR-15 and ammo “without a license, background check, or any accountability.” Also, without any safety instructions or instructions of any kind.

    • Red Eye Robot December 1st, 2014 at 12:22 pm

no you can’t. Go to a gun show and try

      • eyelashviper December 1st, 2014 at 12:27 pm

The parking lot, outside of every gun show…sales are everywhere.

        • Red Eye Robot December 1st, 2014 at 2:52 pm

I make handmade custom knives, I go to gun shows and set up a table and sell about once a month. I’m still waiting to see this take place.

Anything good?? Care to show some craftsmanship?? Mail order ??

          • Maxx44 December 1st, 2014 at 6:50 pm

You need to stop being a right wing robot and think for yourself. Anyone who has ever been to a gun show knows you can buy almost anything you want, and no one cares.

          • Red Eye Robot December 2nd, 2014 at 12:58 pm

I’ve gone to over 100 in the last 10 years. You? first of all the owners of the venue almost always have strict rules about conducting business off the show floor since there is potential for running afoul of local law.The venue has security watching for this and the event promoters do also. (Usually they are off duty police or sheriff as required by insurance underwriters). Second. Gun dealers pay top dollar for desirable used guns People who can’t legally buy guns (criminals) don’t pay retail prices. they spend their disposable cash on their drug habit. they by guns from thieves and drug dealers at about .10 cents on the dollar.

      • William December 1st, 2014 at 3:49 pm

“no you can’t. Go to a gun show and try”

        Yes you can.

At the rate of 512 a day.

“In the U.S., there are already nine guns for every 10 people, and someone is killed with a firearm every 16 minutes. Mass shootings are happening every few weeks.”

yes you can, just state it is a private sale.

        • Red Eye Robot December 2nd, 2014 at 12:59 pm

who would I state this to?

          • tracey marie December 2nd, 2014 at 1:06 pm

no one, since there is no background checks or laws …see what I did?

          • Red Eye Robot December 4th, 2014 at 11:25 am

you made up a lie based on ignorance? How clever of you.

          • William December 4th, 2014 at 11:40 am

You deny the facts BECAUSE of your ignorance.

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. (AP) – More gun sales than ever are slipping through the federal background check system – 186,000 last year, a rate of 512 gun sales a day, as states fail to consistently provide thorough, real-time updates on criminal and mental histories to the FBI.

Or buy guns online from many states “without a license, background check, or any accountability.”

  4. Foundryman December 1st, 2014 at 11:56 am

All this guys paranoid friends arm themselves to go to Krogers to buy oreos, and he has nothing to defend himself from all those colored folks and the big government, little wonder he would be so scared as to steal, the apocalypse is right around the corner.

  5. Pistol-Packing AKA "Susie" December 1st, 2014 at 11:56 am

I would love to see the actual video of him doing so. That is not an easy feat if you think about the length and bulkiness of it. It would have certainly caused him to walk very awkward. I am not doubting the police report.but I guess Size matters if it is in your pants.

    • Obewon December 1st, 2014 at 1:12 pm

Doesn’t the AR-15 disassemble with removable stock and gun barrel, right?

      • Pistol-Packing AKA "Susie" December 1st, 2014 at 1:15 pm

Very much so. You need tools to do so, and is not an easy process. I own several.

And a stock AR-15 off the Walmart shelf, is not going to have any special feature that would allow you to do it.

        • Obewon December 1st, 2014 at 1:21 pm

Good luck doubting the Walmart security cam evidence that the PD are leveraging to pursuit and charge the suspect with AR-15 & ammo theft.

          • Pistol-Packing AKA "Susie" December 1st, 2014 at 1:24 pm

I never said I doubted it. I just said I want to see it, because that is just a very awkward to try to place that down your pants and walk without it sticking out like a sore thumb that something is not right.

          • Obewon December 1st, 2014 at 1:29 pm

There seems to be a lot of gun owner doubt on the internet about this assault weapon theft from the too-cheap/not very well secured $100 B Walmartian gun store owners.

          • Pistol-Packing AKA "Susie" December 1st, 2014 at 1:36 pm

I can understand to a degree why they doubt it. Mostly because of its size. You are talking about an object that is going to be between 30-34 inches in length, and about 3 inches thick.

I am more curious how he did it and was able to walk away.

          • Hirightnow December 1st, 2014 at 3:59 pm

Well, not to brag, but I usually have no trouble fitting something that long and even thicker into my trousers….

            DOHHHHHHHHHHH

          • Hirightnow December 1st, 2014 at 3:57 pm

In my less savory days, I used to know people who would wheel out TVs and other stuff, bold as brass, through the front doors.
WalMart employees likely don’t have too much motivation to stop suspected gun thieves…

    • Charles Edward Pardue December 2nd, 2014 at 7:33 pm

I checked the Walmart website and he may have made off with a flat-top mdoel M4 type carbine (no carry handle, low profile). They’re about 37 inches long and he could have stuck at least 24 inches of it down his pant leg. If he had baggy pants and a loose coat, he could have done this without too much trouble. Plus he probably had a pretty large crowd to hide in. I also know people who have worked in the Asheville Walmart stores and they seem to have staffing issues (high turnover, insufficient people on the floor). He picked his “target” pretty well.

      • Pistol-Packing AKA "Susie" December 2nd, 2014 at 9:29 pm

24 inches is still a very long length to be stuffing in your pants. Especially, considering it is still 3″ thick.

Just going by the photo provided. those jeans dont look all that baggy. I am not saying it cant be done. I just want to see him doing it. You know, learn the tricks of the trade. =)

  6. tiredoftea December 1st, 2014 at 12:35 pm

When you just have to be an “Oath Keeper”, nothing can stop a guy.

  7. annaaurora December 1st, 2014 at 1:28 pm

How does this happen? Oh man I’m so tired of guns. WalMart you need to be sued for this in addition to everything else you do that is ethically and illegally against humanity.

  8. Bunya December 1st, 2014 at 1:33 pm

Hey! It’s his right to arm himself … something about the cawnstitution, ‘murica and Jesus.

  9. crc3 December 1st, 2014 at 1:44 pm

Yet another reason to hate Walmart. GUNS AND AMMO. Maybe an inside job? How did he get into the locked up gun display without causing a commotion? He may have had a key. Where were the Walmart employees in the department ? Oh…that’s right…the store was understaffed or they were on break. How about the customers? No busy body calling the police to report this? Maybe it didn’t happen at all?

    • Pistol-Packing AKA "Susie" December 1st, 2014 at 3:36 pm

Maybe a careless employee left the cabinet unlocked ???

      • Hirightnow December 1st, 2014 at 3:54 pm

When he had to leave quickly to follow that black guy in housewares???

        • Pistol-Packing AKA "Susie" December 1st, 2014 at 4:29 pm

No, it was the two black girls in the hair extension aisle..

busy bodies only report stuff like this when they see a black man in the toy aisle. don’t cha know.

  10. Ol Blue December 1st, 2014 at 2:34 pm

The police have asked local hospitals if they could maybe give them a call if a hillbilly shows up carrying his tiny privates, looking for a re-attachment deal.

    • tracey marie December 1st, 2014 at 4:05 pm

that made me laugh and spit my coffee out
