Jeremy Peters of the New York Times was introduced at 6AM. When they eventually went to him at 7:15, he wasn’t there.

“Did he say anything?” Scarborough asked. “Not the entire time?”

Turns out he had, one quick bit about the House GOP, but that was almost an hour prior. In fairness Morning Joe did have other people who needed to talk.

Joe is still there? I thought they were going to get rid of the embarrassment. It really shouldn’t be that hard to find a replacement for him.

    • Guy Lauten December 2nd, 2014 at 11:09 am

How about Craig Ferguson? He ought to help people wake up.

      • mea_mark December 2nd, 2014 at 11:10 am

Sounds like a great idea to me.

        • Guy Lauten December 2nd, 2014 at 8:58 pm

Think we can get Mika to wear her hair like Geoff?

      • StoneyCurtisll December 2nd, 2014 at 11:40 am

        Maybe even Russell Brand..
He spiced up Morning Joe when he was on it one morning…

Morning Joe gets better ratings in the key demographic (126,000) than Ed Schultz, (64,000) & Chris Hayes, (123,000)

      • mea_mark December 2nd, 2014 at 12:13 pm

Money is more important than integrity, disappointing, that seems to be how things work at the moment though.

        • Red Eye Robot December 2nd, 2014 at 12:34 pm

If money was more important everyone at MSNBC would be fired

          • mea_mark December 2nd, 2014 at 12:45 pm

You think liberals don’t spend money? You really think there is no market on the left?

          • edmeyer_able December 2nd, 2014 at 1:15 pm

Money is more important to the douche bags that run faux news, that you can take to the bank.

          • Dwendt44 December 2nd, 2014 at 11:40 pm

Somebody has to point out the lies and distortions of FakeNews.

      • GreatLakeSailor December 2nd, 2014 at 12:14 pm

126,000 people watch this chowder-head? That’s 1,000x more than I would have guessed.

      • edmeyer_able December 2nd, 2014 at 12:28 pm

I first watched him for content, then just laughs, and then quit when both he and Mika became too unbearable.Maybe I’ll watch again when the 2016 election starts to heat up. It should be funny to hear him support whichever clown the gop run.

      • DrPills December 2nd, 2014 at 6:03 pm

Maybe they should drop all three of them, Dump the Rev and the idiot kid too. Ronan not Luke, Well maybe both kids.

Wrong again and “CNBC Shark Tank 219,000-Key Demo age 25-54” beat Red Eyes Guttfield “FOXN The Five 216,000-Key Demo age 25-54” And “FOXN SPECIAL RPT W/BRET BAIER 160k-Key Demo age 25-54” head was ripped off by “CNBC Shark Tank 226k-Key Demo age 25-54” http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/2014/12/02/cable-news-ratings-for-friday-november-28-2014/333661/ In fact GOP TV imploded May, 2013 to May, 2014 having ‘the lowest ratings in 13 years since 2000!’-RIP neoclowns. http://www.newscorpse.com/ncWP/?cat=6

that’s great, cnn, fox and cnbc cant fire Joe for bad ratings as I pointed out there are 2 people with worse ratings on msnbc and one is in the 8:00 pm prime time slot

          • Obewon December 4th, 2014 at 7:33 pm

Great Job! Lowest ratings in 13 years for Free GOP TV FNC, that all other channels charge for. Lol! Keep up the plummeting demos:)

          • Red Eye Robot December 5th, 2014 at 7:58 am

Wonderful of you to provide a link showing Fox is first place in every demographic, and total viewers Every hour of every day sometimes beating all competitors combined.

          • Carla Akins December 5th, 2014 at 8:04 am

Because only the over 70 crowd continues to get their news from TV. It has nothing to do with their veracity.

          • Red Eye Robot December 6th, 2014 at 10:14 am

Fox leads in the key 25-54 demographic every hour of every day

          • OldLefty December 6th, 2014 at 10:42 am

All the network’s primetime shows are down double-digits year-over-year. “The O’Reilly Factor” is down -28% in total viewers and -30% in the A25-54 demo. “The Kelly File” is down -17% in total viewers and -27% in the demo compared to the 9pmET hour last year and “Hannity” is down -30% and -23%, respectively, compared to the 10pmET hour last year.

For Fox to post numbers that they haven’t seen since August of 2001 (before 9/11) is a painful blow to both their reputation and their bank account. But they have even bigger problems. The viewers that do tune in to Fox are significantly older than viewers of their competitors. Fox News has always had the oldest skewing audience in cable news. With a median age of 68.8 years, Fox’s audience is over six years older than either CNN or MSNBC. It’s even worse for their top rated program (O’Reilly) who’s average viewer is over 72 years old. And their Great Blonde Hope (Kelly), who was specifically brought in to draw younger viewers, also exceeded Fox’s average with her typical viewer voyeur being over 70.

An analysis of the audience composition for the three cable news networks shows that, of Fox’s total audience, a pitiful 20% are in the 25-54 age group favored by advertisers. It’s even worse for their primetime schedule where only 15% fall into that group. That compares to CNN with 30%/35% respectively, and MSNBC with 31%/28%. In other words, CNN and MSNBC draw 50% more total viewers in the younger demos, and they double Fox’s ratio in primetime.

            The REAL points are;
            1) Only a tiny number watch cable news at all.
            2) Fox has the honor of the the “MOST” and and the “LEAST”, which means it appeals to a niche, cult like audience.

          • mea_mark December 6th, 2014 at 10:57 am

A cult like audience that is dying of old age. When they are gone the will truly be gone.

          • OldLefty December 6th, 2014 at 11:01 am

            It is an aging demographic.
Most of “the kids” have cut the cord and don’t watch TV at all.

          • Carla Akins December 6th, 2014 at 11:01 am

Not quite. That’s in “cable” news – not all news. You still have the big three major (non-cable) networks, although they hold very little sway over the millennials who overwhelmingly get (83%)their news online./cell phone (Up to 35 group)

Those 35-59, 77% get their news online. (Phone/computer)

Over 60, a full 95% get their news from television. You know, where Fox News went to court and sued for the right to lie to its viewers.

Half of Fox cable news viewers are 68 and over: http://www.theatlantic.com/business/archive/2014/01/half-of-fox-news-viewers-are-68-and-older/283385/

The stupid is strong in America. Mindless people watch FOX because they don’t like to think for themselves. They just want to hear things that reinforce their bigoted antiquated beliefs.

          • Red Eye Robot December 6th, 2014 at 10:13 am

Ah, the classic dismissal when Liberals can’t compete in the marketplace of ideas. If that’s the case then why is there an MSNBC at all? Why did liberals start Air America Radio? Let me ask, How did your message that Americans are stupid and bigoted work out in this past election?

          • OldLefty December 6th, 2014 at 10:51 am

Ah, the classic dismissal when Liberals can’t compete in the marketplace of ideas.

            _______

            What does that mean??

That the talk radio, authoritarian format does not appeal to most liberals?

That the same corporations that own the stations own the shows?

That the liberal ballot initiatives all passed, even in red states?

That liberal, deep, deep blue markets that vote over 90% Democratic, have low ratings for talk radio, (all switching to music or sports) and no liberal talk radio?

          • Obewon December 5th, 2014 at 11:14 am

Actually they’re 2nd to last place in the real world where 14 M+ View PBS nightly and: Among total viewers, CBS is ahead for the season averaging 12.1 million viewers. NBC is second with 9.9 million, followed by ABC with 9.1 million, FOX with 6.3 million, and CW with 2.2 million. http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/2014/12/03/2014-2015-season-nbc-leads-among-adults-18-49-cbs-tops-total-viewers-through-week-10-ending-november-30-2014/334344/

          • Red Eye Robot December 6th, 2014 at 10:23 am

yes free will always get better ratings than pay. But since you point that out How well are CNN, MSNBC, CNBC, HNN doing against network broadcasts? Better than FOX or worse? then there is this http://www.mediabistro.com/fishbowldc/special-report-with-bret-baier-tops-several-evening-newscasts_b135458 Brett Baier is now beating ABC & CBS in several markets something no cable network news program has ever done.

          • Obewon December 6th, 2014 at 4:46 pm

Read it real s l o w CBS is ahead for the season averaging 12.1 million viewers. NBC is second with 9.9 million, followed by ABC with 9.1 million, FOX with 6.3 million, and CW with 2.2 million. “Fox News” posted their “worst ratings in thirteen years.”-Nielsen 2014 http://www.newscorpse.com/ncWP/?p=15580 (It gets worse because they only get paid by advertisers for Age 25-54 that ranges 116K-260K on FNC) Notice a pattern? ‘Fox’s latest Nielsen numbers are bad. Really bad.’ Its “worst in 12 years”-Nielsen 2013 via irrefutable http://mediamatters.org/blog/2013/02/01/with-the-fox-news-empire-in-a-ratings-slump-whe/192488 Cable news isn’t even a real demo but FBN is dead last with “55,000 total daily viewers.” Lol! Many days FBN has 12,000-22k total Daily viewers.

          • Red Eye Robot December 7th, 2014 at 7:08 am

You’re posting articles from may, Fox came back in June july and august with large gains over may. and is consistently 3rd behing ESPN and Hallmark in all of cable tv. in the key demo MSNBC is like 26thth place. What those BLOGS didn’t tell you was that all cable news was down in the spring. In October MSNBC had their worst prime time ratings since 2007 down down 37% in total viewers and 48% in the 25-54 demo.

          • Obewon December 7th, 2014 at 7:48 am

Lol! you’re the last to learn “Worst Ratings since 2000” is a sustained trend via FNC’s May, 2013 to May, 2014 implosion that was preceded by FNC’s May, 2012 to May, 2013 “Worst Ratings since 2000” implosion. The best part is you drones don’t even know dead dumb viewers long ago ceased being replaced new functional illiterates. Impartial fact checking quickly and preemptively debunks faux GOP TV news. Good luck in 2016 when the Blue Wall of 253 EC votes kicks illiterates asses for 7th popular POTUS votes loss of the past 8 presidential elections.

          • OldLefty December 7th, 2014 at 8:07 am

Few people get their news from cable, MANY, MANY fewer young people, (as many are “cutting the cord”),

MSNBC is not even on most basic cable packages.

And don’t forget that study after study shows that Fox viewers are the most uninformed, and that

Study: People Who Don’t Watch the News Are More Informed Than Fox Viewers

Mika is the only saving grace for that program, if there is one. I don’t miss it as I don’t watch it, I’m retired and refuse to get up that early, or watch any TV in the morning.

She was until she started to agree too often or just remained silent.

        • Suzanne McFly December 2nd, 2014 at 1:07 pm

She drives me nuts sometimes. Joe will say something completely false and she just bats her eyelashes at him. She is there to judge everyone it seems, she has a narrowing purpose and it is a negative one IMO.

          • Dwendt44 December 2nd, 2014 at 11:38 pm

My guess is she got taken to the woodshed for contradicting ‘JOE” to much.

          • Suzanne McFly December 3rd, 2014 at 12:53 pm

She should have some respect and let that fact be known to the watchers of the show.
