A third grade teacher in Texas is resigning amid accusations that she has used racist remarks on conservative Internet talk show “Tommy’s Garage”, and made “jokes” about President Obama being infected with the Ebola virus in order to “take one for the team.”

[su_center_ad]Angela Box expressed her disgust with President Obama and her frustration with Muslims on food stamps asking for specially prepared food, according to KHOU.

Box denies having used the “n-word” which community activist Quanell X alleges.

“I don’t believe in judging people by the color of their skin. I, actually, like Martin Luther King did, shockingly, judge people by the content of their character,” Box said.

Box’s annual salary is $50,100.

The Houston Chronicle reports:

Trustees of the Houston Independent School District did not discuss the settlement publicly before their 6-0 vote to approve the deal.

In a statement Thursday, Box said she would miss her students and treasure the time she spent with them. She said “character assassination” by community activist Quanell X, who had accused Box of using a racial slur, made it impossible for her to remain in her job.

“As I have said before, opposing President Obama and sounding the alarm about radical Islam does not make me a racist,” the statement said, adding that she did not utter the racial epithets Quanell X had attributed to her.

“I am considering all my legal options regarding the conduct from Mr. X and others. I expect to have an announcement as early as next Monday regarding my future steps.”

Regardless of her defensive posturing, in online clips Box could be heard referring to “bacon-haters,” and using profanity in connection with Muslims and asking, “Can’t Ebola just take one for the team and take out Obama?”

“District administrators recommended accepting Box’s offer of resignation after determining it was in the best interest of the school and its students,” HISD said in a statement Thursday.

Box said last month that she understands that the show may not be appropriate for children, according to KHOU.

“No I don’t want children to watch it. That’s cuckoo talk,” Box said. “But we’re adults and it plays on midnights on a cable access station. It’s a comedy satire show for people that have strong opinions.”

Box will get 3 months pay. I wonder if any of her young students were of the Muslim faith. [su_csky_ad]

She equates herself with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.? Not even close sister, and you will never hold a job as an educator again, your stupidity will haunt you.

I’m sure there’s a right wing christian voucher school some where that has a spot just made for her.

Check out her twitter page and see her posed with wht appears to be a small black child. I guess its all good now she has one of her own…like Pokemon. You know here’s a thing I’ve noticed…when people get caught saying really racist stuff they immediately invoke MLK. Like that’s a magic word that cancelled out the Sh!tty thing they said. Could it be that that’s the only Black person they know to invoke because honestly if you wanted to get on our good side invoking Nat Turner might be a better choice at this point. Generally I would say W.E.B. Dubois but I’m sure she’s never heard of him, with her all too crazy eyes and Guy Smiley face, she has a flip top head you know that people.

Racist remarks aside, if this woman didn’t think that racist “jokes” were going to come back and bite her in the ass, she’s too moronic to be teaching our nation’s youth beyond.

    • DaddyO_969 December 5th, 2014 at 10:15 pm

She’s teaching in Texas where being a moron is a job requirement.

Daddy o, your statement is as ignorant as her statements.

… HAHAHA! OK. I’m going to give this piece of free advice for all right wingers out there: learn to shut up. I know, it almost sounds too easy! If you’ve got an idea in your head, assume it’s wrong and don’t verbalize it. That’s it!

    • Suzanne McFly December 5th, 2014 at 5:00 pm

That advice is both true and hilarious.

Another racist who seems to think that, as long as she didn’t use the N-word, she’s not a racist. That’s like saying as long as I didn’t use a gun, it’s not murder. How did she keep her job long enough to resign? I know, it’s Texas. The board should not have been voting on a settlement deal, they should have voted on her immediate dismissal. Without compensation. Let her sue. But it’s Texas.

Just proves these folks are so concentrated in their little bubble world it comes as a shock when light is shined on their ignorance.

She should be wary of quoting Martin Luther King.

If we were to judge her by the content of HER character, she would be found wanting.

This is Teaxas. What did she say that’s sooo offensive to Teaxans? The ACLU will probably win this case.
