If you stayed home on during the midterm elections, then this is what you gifted the rest of us with. Republicans don’t believe that House Speaker John Boehner is aggressive enough, so they’re jumping off the crazy cliff in hopes that he will follow their lead.

[su_center_ad]Via the Washington Post:

Late Tuesday, Rep. Paul C. Broun (R-Ga.) called for Boehner to not invite Obama to deliver the State of the Union address next year. Rep. Tim Huelskamp (R-Kan.) suggested that the budgets for White House operations, including for Air Force One, should be decreased. Other conservatives have mentioned censuring the president, impeaching him or suing the administration over its immigration actions.

“I’d rather defund Air Force One,” Huelskamp said. “Congress took a 19 percent cut on its budgets — we should do the same for the White House.” On the State of the Union, he added: “In the spirit of George Washington, he could send it to us in writing. It’d save some time.”

Tiffany Willis from Liberal America writes, “They just really can’t stand having a black man flying around in that nice jet, can they? It is driving them BONKERS. He needs to learn his place!”

That’s right. We can’t have our first black President acting like an uppity negro thinking he can fly around with security just like his predecessors.

How can we even take Republicans seriously if this is how they spend their workdays? I picture them sitting around giving awards to any of their colleagues who can think of stupid sh*t to present to the Senate, which will inevitably fail. Like voting to repeal Obamacare for the eleventy hundredth time.

I suppose Republicans expect the President to hitchhike around the country.  Defunding Congress would be a better route to take. If I don’t work, I don’t pay my bills or eat. The same should apply to them.

Obviously, we need to drug test Congress.

Republicans idea of being productive is to pick on Obama. Some children never grow-up, they just become republican politicians.

  2. Thomas Davidson December 6th, 2014 at 2:40 pm

If left up to Republicans, the President of the United States would have zero protection, flying coach on Jet Blue. Are they going to defund all government aircraft, including the ones there leaders use? Bush drove this country into a ditch, but you never heard crazy talk like this. Truly sad.

    • Larry Schmitt December 6th, 2014 at 2:47 pm

Only this president. And make that Spirit, and he has to pay the fees.

  3. Larry Schmitt December 6th, 2014 at 2:46 pm

And after that they turn off the lights in the White House.

    • Dwendt44 December 6th, 2014 at 7:52 pm

If candles were good enough for our founding fathers, they should be good enough for Obama.

  4. StoneyCurtisll December 6th, 2014 at 2:52 pm

Just when I thought the crazies couldn’t get any crazier…
    They pull this stunt.

  5. StoneyCurtisll December 6th, 2014 at 2:54 pm

    What next?
They pass a law that makes President Obama have to sit in the back of the plane?

    • Larry Schmitt December 6th, 2014 at 3:00 pm

And take away his seat belt.

This is what happened when the airlines were deregulated in 1978..

        • Larry Schmitt December 6th, 2014 at 3:09 pm

I think this is a direct spoof of Peoples Express. Remember them? They did what Spirit does today.

          • StoneyCurtisll December 6th, 2014 at 3:28 pm

I will have to Google Peoples Express..
If they were anything like Value Jet, (nose dive into a swamp) I know what ya mean..(used to drive a truck I called ‘value jet’)
Never knew when it was going to conk out.

          • Larry Schmitt December 6th, 2014 at 4:20 pm

Evidently it was actually called People Express, but I remember most people adding the s. A new airline with the same name was started a coupe of years ago, but they quit in September after one of their planes was hit by a truck. That’s a new one. Must have been a real budget operation, they didn’t even own the planes.

  6. tiredoftea December 6th, 2014 at 2:54 pm

Fortunately for us, they are gone on the 11th! Then, we have a whole new bunch of crazy to deal with in the next Congress.

    • StoneyCurtisll December 6th, 2014 at 2:55 pm

      We aint seen nuttin yet..
they new ones are gonna be even worse.

      • tiredoftea December 6th, 2014 at 2:56 pm

            Elections have consequences.

  7. crc3 December 6th, 2014 at 2:55 pm

To all the lazy ass Dem voters who didn’t vote in November don’t complain one word about anything political. If you want progress in this country to continue then get off your butt and vote in not just presidential elections but rather ALL ELECTIONS. Voter apathy this past election has put this country in one heck of a mess. Hope you are all satisfied with what you’ve done!!

  8. StoneyCurtisll December 6th, 2014 at 2:58 pm

If theses “smaller government’ republicans were serious..
They would vote to eliminate their own jobs..
I know they are freakin crazy, but are they serious crazy?

    • Larry Schmitt December 6th, 2014 at 2:58 pm

Only if they could still collect their paychecks. They already get paid for doing nothing, might as well make it official.

      • StoneyCurtisll December 6th, 2014 at 3:00 pm

Do nothing except fund raise while on vacation congress.

        • Larry Schmitt December 6th, 2014 at 3:03 pm

Especially the House. Most of their two year terms are spent campaigning and fund raising. We could probably live without them altogether.

They SHOULD defund Air Force One. Cain’t have no uppity black guy havin’ the whole plane to hisself. He should fly coach like everbody else!
‘Sides, we cin start “refunding” AFO once we get ourselves a lily white GOP president, like God intended.

    • Larry Schmitt December 6th, 2014 at 3:24 pm

Fly coach. You mean like the congressmen do?

  10. Obewon December 6th, 2014 at 4:17 pm

Haters can’t accept that USA’s leader of the free world is black.
This is not a fringe belief held only by a few. One poll taken just after the 2012 election found that 49% of Republicans believed that ACORN had stolen the election for Obama.-WaPo. Thank Gawd ACCORN stole Mitt & Mc’Palin’s elections so that POTUS Obama could reverse GWB’s US Record $1.3 T 1/20/09 deficits and Great Recession record low everything since (R) Hoover’s Great Depression.

  12. Carla Akins December 6th, 2014 at 5:22 pm

This is as petty and telling of the Republicans in Congress of all their other ideas.

Ol’ Broun the Loon makes us Georgians proud!

  14. searambler December 6th, 2014 at 9:28 pm

This is why we can’t have nice things…..

  15. Warman1138 December 6th, 2014 at 9:58 pm

Mean, petty and diabolical, racist republicans at it again. It wouldn’t surprise me if they try hounding Pres. Obama long after he leaves office one day.

  16. Hass December 6th, 2014 at 11:58 pm

    This is so stupid.

    • Dwendt44 December 7th, 2014 at 12:38 am

This isn’t the first stupid plan the Republicans have come up with, and I’ll guarantee it won’t be their last either.

  17. liberalMD December 7th, 2014 at 1:49 am

If Congress is looking for reasons how taxpayer money is being wasted all they have to do is go into the nearest restroom and look in the mirror.

I went to vote today in the runoff election in Louisiana and let me tell you they make it as hard as possible to do.

I am disabled, I can walk short distances with a cane or walker but anything over a 100 yards forget it!

    The
polling place is a school that has the parking about 2 blocks away from
where you actually vote, I usually just struggle through, stopping a
lot when my leg seizes up and stops moving.

    But I was feeling
pretty bad today so my husband drove me to the front of the school where
the handicapped parking spots were. There were no signs for where to go
vote and there were about a dozen buildings scattered around and all
    the doors were locked.

I finally got inside and they refused to
take my state issued mobility impaired photo ID. It is the ID that you
get when you have a handicapped placard. It has all the same information
on it, name, address, birth date, photo etc. but they would not take
it, it had to be the state issued ID card for voting.

    I have
one, I just wanted to prove that all those people who lie about it
having anything to do with having a photo ID are nothing but liars!

    I
could buy beer with that photo ID because it has my birth-date on it, I
could open a checking account with it because it is government issued
ID, It is perfectly legitimate photo ID just like my father’s VA card
was perfectly legitimate photo ID and they would not let him use that to vote either.

They make it as hard as possible to vote in republican states.

      Disgraceful!

    • tracey marie December 9th, 2014 at 7:36 am

future reference…by law you have several options. Mail in ballot is a great option, and all precincts have a detachable voting pad that will be brought to the vehicle of the disabled. Have someone go inside and request one of the election judges to handle it.

I noticed that none of them were volunteering to give up approx. 1/3 rd of they’re pay or 1/3rd of their retirement package or write laws that forbid them to use insider info for stock purchases.

  21. arc99 December 7th, 2014 at 11:07 am

OK all you Obama-haters who would have us believe that none of the treatment of the President by his critics is based on race, please let me know which white President was harassed about a birth certificate, faced a Congress that did not want him to deliver the state of the union speech, and was threatened with defunding of Air Force One.

I will wait for your answer, but I will not hold my breath.

It’s what my late grandmother taught me, do not ever blame racism for your personal shortcomings. But when the black person is treated differently than all the white people, raise hell.
