The Central Bucks School District in Pennsylvania is investigating a guidance counselor’s post in which she threatened to shoot #ICantBreathe protesters who were demonstrating Sunday outside Lincoln Financial Field.

MaryKate

[su_center_ad]The counselor has since been placed on leave, district officials said, according to NBC Philadelphia.

The Facebook message posted by MaryKate Blankenburg read, “If my child cannot get to the Eagles game due to protesters, I will personally SHOOT every one of them. You’ve been warned idiots!!”

She is an 11th grade guidance counselor at Central Bucks West High School.

The threat was focused on demonstrates outside the Philadelphia Eagles game as they protested against racism in the wake of the police-involved deaths of black men such as Michael Brown and Eric Garner.

The Facebook post has been deleted, but it has been circulated on social media, sparking outrage.

In a statement Monday morning, Central Bucks School District Superintendent David Weitzel said the district responded with urgency after seeing the “threatening, violent” message allegedly written by Blankenburg, according to Patch.com.

“We will take appropriate action once we learn all of the facts. I also notified the District Attorney’s Office on Sunday and we are working with them as they investigate this incident,” he said.

“The content of the post does not in any way reflect the beliefs or values of the Central Bucks School District,” Weitzel said.

She has reportedly been suspended with pay.

Once you post something on social media, it is never really “deleted.”

She is proof that a degree hardly equates to actual smarts.

    • granpa.usthai December 8th, 2014 at 7:35 pm

you can ‘buy’ degrees right on line.

and her already being a SS teacher, she would know about that.

  2. Steph December 8th, 2014 at 6:53 pm

Supposedly she claims her son got hold of her iPad and posted that while she was teaching Sunday school.

      No one believes her.

How many times have you heard people say “(whomever) is such a nice person I didn’t think they would actually do it” after a mass shooting?

        • Anomaly 100 December 9th, 2014 at 6:45 am

They always seem nice until they open fire.

    • whatthe46 December 8th, 2014 at 7:17 pm

aside from the fact that i don’t believe her, in essence, she’s saying she’s raising an ignorant and hateful sociopath.

      • granpa.usthai December 8th, 2014 at 7:32 pm

it should be OK, if she has enough mother/son (stepson) talks at the 200 yard range. Always keep the barrel pointed downrange, push safety off before placing finger on trigger, sight in just above target, slowly allow weapon to drop until top of target is at top of front sight, now slowly squeeze the trigger – that sort of stuff for normal everyday WHITE ARMED families in America enjoying a family type mother/son (stepson) outing together on the firing range.

    • ShelleysLeg December 9th, 2014 at 10:18 am

Monkey see, monkey do….she should be SO proud of her parenting skills IF that had a semblance of truth.

  3. neworleans878 December 8th, 2014 at 7:00 pm

Another idiot who has no business having any part with teaching children.

ps…Eagles lost so I’m willing to bet her son didn’t have much fun.

  4. Warman1138 December 8th, 2014 at 7:04 pm

Wow! What is it with people and guns, make somebody upset and out comes a threat to use a firearm…..weird.

  5. whatthe46 December 8th, 2014 at 7:05 pm

don’t cha just love the net? she’s not very bright. LOL.

  6. Carla Akins December 8th, 2014 at 7:05 pm

Honestly I don’t know that it’s a fireable offense. I’m certain she didn’t intend to literally shoot and kill the protesters, but it’s a very clear picture of how a large segment of white America sees this problem. It definitely requires censure, and her specific position (hell anyone working for a school) should know better.
But here’s the rub, I’m certain that she doesn’t think she said anything offensive. Much like my co-worker that posted this to Facebook yesterday. I’m clueless about how to make others “get it”.

    • Tommy6860 December 8th, 2014 at 7:08 pm

But a counselor? You’d think at least some semblance of sensibility would kick in, by reading the post before publishing it.

      • Carla Akins December 8th, 2014 at 7:16 pm

You would think so, yes. I have had this argument at work daily since August. White people don’t get it, and don’t feel like disparaging the protesters is out of bounds. (yes, I know I’m white) Too many folk see protesters as criminals or entitled like a food stamp recipients. I
‘m not excusing the behavior, I’m just saying its a very real perception.

    • whatthe46 December 8th, 2014 at 7:21 pm

doesn’t he realize that Garner wanted his life?

      • Carla Akins December 8th, 2014 at 8:00 pm

Jeff, the guy that made the FB post is young (28) and a big 2nd amendment fan. Last year he lost a newborn son to SIDS, since that time he has really embraced his Baptist upbringing and seems to be hanging onto it with a death grip, no pun intended. Currently, he’s just an angry, bitter young man so I try to not read too much into it – but he’s hardly alone. I’d say an easy 50% of my co-workers think the protesters are blowing things out of proportion, and just need to go home and move on with their life.

        • whatthe46 December 8th, 2014 at 8:08 pm

that’s really sad. easy for them to say, this isn’t something they need to be concerned about on a daily bases. parents have lost a son, a child has lost their father. it seems to me those people know nothing of compassion and clearly are ignorant in understanding what black men go through.

          • Carla Akins December 8th, 2014 at 8:33 pm

            You’re absolutely right.

  17. Suzanne McFly December 8th, 2014 at 8:40 pm

I agree Carol, but I believe a person can learn what empathy is but they can’t learn how to be empathetic. I don’t believe this person can have concern for anyone they deem “less than”. To openly admit you could kill another human simply because how they feel about a certain topic shows she is a mentally and emotionally crippled human.

    • DWS December 8th, 2014 at 11:35 pm

Suzanne McFly, and to do it over/for something is ridiculously inconsequential as a football game no less. Pretty sad human being.

  18. Hirightnow December 8th, 2014 at 9:31 pm

“You know the rules…’Zero Tolerance’ …we can’t afford to take any chances when it comes to violence in our schools.”
Say it to this person, then fire her.
Maybe she can get a job counseling kids who were expelled under that same policy…

  19. thinkingwomanmillstone December 8th, 2014 at 9:38 pm

No apologies are necessary unless accompanied by a letter of resignation.

    • Rhonda Warmack Houston December 9th, 2014 at 9:29 am

thinkingwomanmillstone, I would second those two accompanying items.

  20. burqa December 8th, 2014 at 10:07 pm

It sure was a stupid thing to say. One hopes it was just an unthinking outburst and not an actual threat.
Some call for her job, I’m not so sure about that. I’d want to see a pattern of such violent posts or behavior. I’d want to know if this was a violent person or whether it was just a stupid comment made under stress.

    • tracey marie December 8th, 2014 at 10:30 pm

      what stress?

      • burqa December 9th, 2014 at 12:56 am

I don’t know. Could be anything.
It’s not unusual for people to post extreme thoughts they don’t really mean. Above, I referred to a couple people here who advocated Pat Robertson be tortured. I don’t think they should lose their jobs for those posts.
If she has a history of violence and can be shown to be a dangerous person, that’s one thing.
But if she was just exaggerating to make the point that she was pissed off, it’s another.
Can you honestly say you never posted or said something that was over the top that you regretted later? Wouldn’t you hope that others did not judge that one thing as being representative of the sort of person you are?

        • R J December 9th, 2014 at 3:11 am

100% agree with everything said, the problem is these people think that they can get away with talking like their heroes on faux news and never have to pay the consequences for the words or actions,

        • rg9rts December 9th, 2014 at 7:45 am

Anything you post you had better be prepared to see on the front page of your local paper… Adults should realize this more so than students

          • Nicholas Russell Harris December 9th, 2014 at 9:43 am

Amen to that brother! That and they should be prepared to own up to their shite instead of passing it off as some sort of minor thing. Own up to it then say sorry without casting blame.

          • rg9rts December 9th, 2014 at 1:54 pm

They pray on it ….lots and lots of prayer

        • michele in pa December 10th, 2014 at 9:30 am

Yes, I can say I never posted anything threatening or violent towards others….and I am NOT A COUNSELOR FOR CHILDREN. I certainly would not want anyone with a lack of control over her anger, to counsel my child, especially when her lack of control includes threats with guns.
she may want to look into a job as a prison guard or a cop. She seems to have the right demeanor for both positions.

    • whatthe46 December 8th, 2014 at 10:36 pm

crazy thing is… you’re fricken serious.

    • Jeannette R Warren December 9th, 2014 at 12:35 am

Unthinking outburst, not a threat??? She is counciling students and you wan to see a pattern……no she needs to be fired and banned from ever counciling another student ever. It was so much more than stupid.

      • burqa December 9th, 2014 at 12:43 am

Yes, because I have said some pretty stupid things myself. How about you?
Occasionally I’ll post that some vile person or another should have their hand held in a toaster.
        I don’t really mean it.
Here in the comments under another blog post, a couple users posted they wanted Pat Robertson to be tortured. Should they too, lose their jobs for such posts?

        • gardoglee December 9th, 2014 at 3:31 am

If you’ve said plenty of things you’ve regretted later, have you considered that perhaps you have some impulse control issues that need to be addressed?

          • rg9rts December 9th, 2014 at 7:46 am

Ever hit the send to all button by mistake??? LOL

    • Foundryman December 9th, 2014 at 12:41 am

If the kids have to live in a world of zero tolerance, so do the counselors.

    • Carol Anne Peschke December 9th, 2014 at 2:19 am

What stress? She’s talking about a damn football game. Besides, a school counselor is supposed to have better judgment than the adolescents she works with. A student would be expelled for saying crap like that.

      • Rhonda Warmack Houston December 9th, 2014 at 9:25 am

Carol Anne Peschke, Your standards may be higher than what is expected where this woman works. I would prefer your standards to hers any day.

    • Rebecca Gardner December 9th, 2014 at 9:09 am

Her job is a guidance counselor. What pattern do you need before she’s fired? She slits the throat of one of the school children because they wore an “I can’t breathe” t-shirt to class?

  21. Nick Jaos December 8th, 2014 at 10:19 pm

Placed on suspension WITH pay? Make murder threats and basically get a paid vacation. Damn, white folks sure have it easy in America.

Nick Jaos, Just like the cops who are placed on suspension with pay.

  22. Denise December 8th, 2014 at 10:24 pm

Her ignorant, racists ass should have been fired asap!

    • Rhonda Warmack Houston December 9th, 2014 at 9:23 am

Denise, Anytime the two words ‘should be’ are introduced into the concept, we know immediately we are doomed because the ‘should bes’ sets up that rainbow of perfection, which we instantly know is not in the reality of the moment.

    • Rochelle Lynn Dunlap December 9th, 2014 at 2:23 pm

As horrible as I think this woman is, and I agree w/ the ignorant part, we need to stop calling anyone who makes a stupid comment about the protesters “racist”. There are many white protesters among those that are appalled by Ferguson and Eric Garner. When we continually throw out words like this, we lessen the impact that they should have. There was nothing racist in her post, just ignorance and violence, for which she should be fired. Reserve the “racist” card for true incidences.

rg9rts, Now you got it !!

      • BradleyHart December 9th, 2014 at 11:57 am

The with pay part while it always stands out is there for a very good reason, most institutional insurance such as what covers school districts or towns don’t cover wrongful termination lawsuits. It takes time to properly build a file against someone that is so tight they have no chance of winning a big chunk of money which must be taken from operational expenses, something school districts usually have too little of too start with.

  27. rg9rts December 9th, 2014 at 7:40 am

rg9rts, I don’t believe the NRA and Pennsylvania was mentioned within the same space…nor was their a mention of the KKK, Your reading skills have much to be desired. None of that crap you mentioned was NOT mentioned…who is he Idiot and who is the stupid one here. • Nicholas Russell Harris December 9th, 2014 at 9:36 am

I think he was suggesting she deserved to be fired. . .which the b*tch does

      • BradleyHart December 9th, 2014 at 11:53 am

Actually her pay is being drawn most likely from sick and vacation time while they put together the file they need to keep her from filing a wrongful termination lawsuit which district insurance wont cover damages for. It is better she get paid a few weeks or even months the the district to lose a multi-million dollar lawsuit on some sort of technicality and then be forced to pay it from operating expenses

      • trenaherringtonchapman December 9th, 2014 at 7:28 pm

I think fairmont66 wants to see her fired. Me, too. A school counselor should know better than to post something so stupid.

      • fairmont66 December 14th, 2014 at 3:02 pm

that the first sign before you are fired. Do you really think they are going to let her keep her job with that kind of bad press?

    She seems nice.

  30. Rhonda Warmack Houston December 9th, 2014 at 9:12 am

Suspended WITH PAY….just like the cops who are never prosecuted and investigated by their own. People don’t think before they open their mouths on how they are going to be heard by others.

    • BradleyHart December 9th, 2014 at 11:50 am

Yes with pay, unfortunately if she sues for wrongful termination and wins the district insurance won’t cover them and all losses come out of the education budget, this is unfortunately how it works most places. On the plus side, the with pay only lasts as long as she has sick and vacation days to spend. before they can cut her off.

  31. Mark McCauley December 9th, 2014 at 9:23 am

HERE’S that “well armed” militia you’ve all heard about……protectin’ your first amendment rights!

  32. Rhonda Warmack Houston December 9th, 2014 at 9:28 am

AAA SuperPatriot, This has nothing to do with being a liberal. This has to do with thinking about how one is going to come across when the larger community hears what you say and often, than most, what one says one is evaluated by the masses. I won’t want my kids to go to that school where she is considered a guidance counselor.

  33. ShelleysLeg December 9th, 2014 at 10:11 am

Because the Eagles game is SO crucial, right fatty?

  34. Tape Operator December 9th, 2014 at 10:56 am

    This bitch.

  35. Tillmann Puschka December 9th, 2014 at 10:59 am

Wow! So now we’re shooting people because their presence prevents us from getting to a ball game? What if there just happens to be a huge crowd (sans protesters), and your daughter can’t make it through the crowd in time for kick off? Do you plan to open fire on the crowd?

By the way- glad to see that you’re clearly a responsible proponent of firearms- what a breath of fresh air you are!

  36. Suzanne Galanis December 9th, 2014 at 11:11 am

Suspended with pay! Anotherwards, a paid vacation! She shouldn’t have any type of position with our youth. How’d she even get a college degree?

    • BradleyHart December 9th, 2014 at 11:47 am

Not necessarily, most places suspended with pay means it is coming out of their sick time or vacation time and will only be reimbursed if she gets to keep her job. Until then it keeps the employer from being sued for wrongful termination, which isn’t covered under most insurance plans and in this case would come out of the school budget. We, as liberals do have a duty to follow through with due process, something a lot of outraged people seem to forget just because the other side doesn’t give a damn about it.

  37. Morgan Sheridan December 9th, 2014 at 12:02 pm

yeah ITA with all you said..all of it

    • Paul Caporino December 9th, 2014 at 2:17 pm

Nah, she should have known better than to post shit like that. Stupid move. If she can’t control her emotions she has no business being a counselor (or a cop for that matter).

what do you want to bet it wasn’t done fast enough for someone to have not downloaded a large portion of it. Plenty of free software out there to do it.

What’s the problem? She’s the GOP’s model as someone who’s qualified to shape young minds.

Sad. A lot of ignorance and misplaced priorities. Part of me hopes she gets fired just for the reason that her ignorance can’t be tolerated anymore.

Whether you take her threat literally or not, she’s talking murder and calling a group of strangers idiots on a public forum. It’s not as if she stocks shelves or flips burgers for a living; a counselor is supposed to have much better judgment than that. Besides, you can bet if a student said something like that at school, he/she would be expelled.

Each day I hope and pray that you and your kind are made extinct. I am leaving your post stand, so others can see what a terrible human being you are. You are not welcome here, go back to Stormfront.

As if the original post isn’t bad enough, here she is throwing her own 11 year old under the bus ” Blankenburg told The Doylestown Intelligencer that her child “might have gotten hold of my iPad” and posted the statement while Blankenburg was teaching Sunday school”. I’m assuming it’s the 11 year old maybe it’s her 4 year old, right.

When her job is a counselor of children??? I think that answer is a very OBVIOUS YES! I know I wouldn’t want my children anywhere near this women, if troubled & seeking sensible help.

That’s nice and all, but now that you’ve said your piece, you need to get off the computer and get back to work so your hard-worked tax dollars can continue to pay for my welfare for me and all 15 of my kids. Thanks Joe.

Simply Sick, I pity the children that are being raised by this animal!!
