Brennan doesn’t like being thrown under the bus, who does? But, will he leak the proof of his assertions about the gains from torture? BTW, how can a so called civilized country even be having this conversation???

Poland and the Czech Republic have come out as rendition sites. How many more countries will “come out” to place international pressure on the U.S.?

Cheney/Bush lied, thousands upon thousands died.

    Chicken Hawk mother f*ckers.

1%…the percentage of Americans in the military…fought and died to further enrich the 1% we’re most familiar with.

Chris Matthews just had Michael Steele on and Chris was talking about cheney’s recent statements of how he felt about the recent Senate report. Chris and Michael both agreed cheney will be the last guy on the Titanic claiming he did all he could to save Americans after 9/11 (too bad he didn’t give a crap about saving Americans before 9/11). They both agreed that cheney is soon becoming the last person in his own corner.

“As for the Atta meeting in Prague mentioned by Cheney, the [9/11] commission staff concluded: “We do not believe that such a meeting occurred.” It cited FBI photographic and telephone evidence, along with Czech and U.S. investigations, as well as reports from detainees, including the Iraqi official with whom Atta was alleged to have met.”

“Senior Czech officials have told their American counterparts that they now have “no confidence” in their earlier report of direct meetings in Prague between Mohammed Atta..and an Iraqi diplomat…..
“”Quite simply, we think the source for this story may have invented the meeting. We can find no corroborative evidence for the meeting and the source has real credibility problems,” a high-ranking source close to Czech intelligence told UPI Sunday….
“ ..former CIA Director James Wolsey and former Assistant Secretary of Defense Richard Perle pursued their own inquiries using their own sources and have now also been told by high-ranking Czech sources that they no longer stand by the initial report.”

“An FBI investigation concluded that Atta was apparently in Florida at the time of the alleged meeting [in Prague], and the CIA has always doubted it took place. Czech authorities first mentioned the alleged meeting to U.S. officials in October 2001, but have since said they no longer are certain Atta was there. The U.S. military has captured the Iraqi intelligence officer who was supposed to have met Atta but has not obtained confirmation from him..
Bush said in September that “we’ve had no evidence that Saddam Hussein was involved with September the 11th.”
Also in the Rocky Mountain News interview, Cheney referred those seeking a general relationship between Iraq and al Qaeda to a Weekly Standard article “based on an assessment that was done by the Department of Defense and forwarded to the Senate intelligence committee some weeks ago.” The November article asserted that an Oct. 27 memo from the Pentagon said Osama bin Laden and Hussein had an operational relationship from the early 1990s to 2003.
When the article was published, the Pentagon said it was “inaccurate” that the Defense Department confirmed new information to the Senate committee about an Iraq-al Qaeda link, and that the memo was “not an analysis of the substantive issue of the relationship between Iraq and al Qaeda, and it drew no conclusions.”

“Intelligence reports in June, July and September 2002 all cast doubts on a reported meeting in Prague between Iraqi intelligence agents and Sept. 11 hijacker Mohamed Atta. Yet in a Sept. 8, 2002 appearance on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Cheney said the CIA considered the reports on the meeting credible, Levin said.”

“Cheney himself continued to suggest a collaboration between Saddam and al Qaeda long after others in the administration would make such a charge. Perhaps the most extreme examples were the continued references he made as late as June 2004 to an alleged meeting between Muhammad Atta and an Iraqi intelligence agent in Prague in April 2001- two years after the CIA and the FBI had investigated the matter and ruled out the possibility it could have occurred.”

Book I am reading has a joke in it about the CIA:

How do you know that the CIA wasn’t involved in the Kennedy assassination?
    He’s dead, isn’t he?
