Two U.S. psychologists were paid about $81-million to consult with the CIA on its brutal interrogation program – criticized as amounting to torture – the U.S. Senate’s damning report said. The two psychologists, whom the report said had no prior experience with Al Qaida, counterterrorism or interrogation techniques, were working with the Air Force on its…

Not only were they paid this outrageous sum but funds were paid to others “out of a cardboard box filled w/hundred dollar bills with no accountability what so ever”.
I wonder how many layers one would have to dig through before you found cheney at the bottom.

He probably had his hands in there at multiple levels. It sounds like the taxpayers were scammed.

    • rg9rts December 11th, 2014 at 12:53 pm

And now claim that they can’t speak about it because of a non disclosure agreement…The APA should throw them out

“To me it seems completely insensible that slapping KSM is bad but sending a Hellfire missile into a family picnic and killing all the children, killing Granny, is OK,” Mitchell said.

—————————————————————————————————————-And before criticism is leveled at ignoring this statement by mittchell let it be noted this is self serving at best and ignoring the harm he has done at worst.
No one is saying killing innocent people deserves a pass.

F*ck anybody who uses the term EIT. They’re at it again, trying to get us to use a cuddly
euphemism so they won’t look like the monsters they are. Don’t fall for it.
Thye’re not using EITs, they’re torturing people.

IMO both of these men should be charged with crimes against humanity, tried and sentenced to life but before any of that arrest W, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice, Rove, and all CIA operatives involved in the tortures and bring them to trial. I don’t care about how disruptive it would be to the country. I don’t care that we don’t do that to former presidents and their cronies. I don’t care about anything but justice…

im more concerned where these 81 million $ guys got their training ?
there is always a paper trail and I suggest you follow it

  6. rational_thinking_one December 11th, 2014 at 11:14 am

Were these guys the ones that came up with the pop up ad torture that I’m experiencing trying to read this story?

    • rg9rts December 11th, 2014 at 12:52 pm

Get Adblock Plus …a free download that really works..

      • tuckerb December 11th, 2014 at 5:05 pm

Thanks for the tip, the pop up ads on this site are bad. Don’t notice it on other sites, so don’t understand. But like this site so will give it a whirl

        • rg9rts December 12th, 2014 at 1:56 am

No problem for me…I haven’t had one since I put it in and the price is right

        • MJ December 13th, 2014 at 11:51 pm

“Jackie” at UVA lied about the rape though. It’s another academic witch hunt after innocent people. What I don’t understand is how someone like you, obviously interested in animal welfare, could yet join such an evil lynchmob . (?)

          • tuckerb December 13th, 2014 at 11:59 pm

I have no idea what you are talking about or referring to. I was talking about pop-up ads.

          • MJ December 14th, 2014 at 12:09 am

You call these two psychos yet you think it’s okay for Michael Vick to burn animals to death (when they can’t fight anymore) because it’s a “black cultural” thing ????

          • tuckerb December 14th, 2014 at 12:31 am

Seriously? The two above are psychologists = psychos was a play on words!? Obviously they are not psychopaths in the clinical sense. As for Michael Vicks, what the hell does he have to do with this thread. Or “Jackie for” that matter? Or the fact that I foster animals? Or a lynching mob? Good night, good bye

          • MJ December 14th, 2014 at 10:30 pm

Then if you don’t support animal abuse, like any sane and civilized person, stay away from that sick Crooks and Liars crowd.
            Good luck to you.

          • tuckerb December 14th, 2014 at 10:50 pm

Look, I’m not sure what you are talking about. The last thing I would ever “support”, condone or ignore is animal abuse. My little baby is a rescue and she has needed a lot a lot of love and nurturing. I cannot and would not stand abuse of any kind! I honestly don’t know a lot about Michael Vicks other than he viciously mistreated and used his dogs for fighting (mostly or all pitbulls?), alot of the dogs were saved and sent to loving homes, but some had to be humanely euthanized, which is a horrible term. He was sentenced to jail and prohibited from ever owning another animal. He was released from jail recently? I don’t know what you mean by the “sick” crowd @C&L. There are cruel, heartless people on all sites, I’m sure, but I have never heard or seen anyone there defending or justifying cruelty to animals. I wish you good luck too.

Same problem, but will try Adblock as suggested by rg9rts below. It’s solo frustrating %$&%%@!

This “brutal” interrogation program is significantly less brutal than the methods New York City uses to enforce their cigarette tax law

    • tracey marie December 11th, 2014 at 11:45 am

torture is wrong, period. thanks to the goptp and bush/cheney America is no better then ISIL

      • rg9rts December 11th, 2014 at 12:50 pm

George II and Murder Inc should also get a taste of this medicine.. I’d start with the electrodes in the scrotum

        • tracey marie December 11th, 2014 at 1:03 pm

          rectal feeding

  8. rg9rts December 11th, 2014 at 12:48 pm

Ethics is not part of their vocabulary… Maybe the APA should look into bringing these clowns up on charges…they knowingly caused harm…period…. any other psychs upset by this?

  9. FatRat December 11th, 2014 at 1:06 pm

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Resisting_Enemy_Interrogation
Resisting Enemy Interrogation is a 1944 American army training film, directed by Bernard Vorhaus and written by Harold Medford, that was designed to train U.S. Army Air Forces crews to resist interrogation by the Germans.

It is beyond madness to know that the Americans and Nazis knew that torture is counter-productive, incorrect data is worse than no data at all. Now we are paying people fortunes to reconstitute the Communist torture techniques that were used to get false confession for propaganda broadcast.

Read the link under Bruce Jessen’s name at the bottom left..it goes to an article in the NYT in 2009…these two “psychologists” are mercenary ghouls, and should be prosecuted.

  11. Bunya December 11th, 2014 at 2:17 pm

Hey, if they pay me $81 million, I can come up with some real innovative “enhanced interrogation” techniques to use on Dickie and Rummie!

    • eyelashviper December 11th, 2014 at 3:11 pm

      I’d do it for free..

      • fahvel December 11th, 2014 at 9:18 pm

        need help?

  12. AnthonyLook December 11th, 2014 at 2:28 pm

Talk about thinking ahead, with that amount of money, you can buy the most expensive lawyers and tie up the system until their future eternity freezes over. At the very least they should lose their professional licenses.

    • fahvel December 11th, 2014 at 9:18 pm

only if their testicles are included.

Seems Republicans finally found a couple job-creators who really did build that.

  14. tuckerb December 11th, 2014 at 4:37 pm

I watched pieces of a recent interview with one of the two psychos. It was on Lawrence O’Donnell last night, right after Rachel Maddow’s excellent take town of the usual suspects regarding the Torture Report. He babbled, he ranted up and down and sideways, rebutted his own points, and made statements such as this, when asked about the “importance” of taking into consideration the religious beliefs and traditions is the Muslim detainees when designing their “program”: I don’t know or care which direction they pray, where their prayer mat goes, whether they do it inside four square walls etc”. (That’s not a direct quote)..it was stunning. Lawrence and guests were merciless, and it was also pointed out their contract was for $120M, but President Obama stopped it when he took office, so they “only” got $80M. Gee, only $80m, but food stamps? public assistance? social security? healthcare? etc. etc. No funds available. The more info that comes out, the more disgusting, criminal, and negligent it becomes. Not to mention evil, cruel, inhumane, illegal…..

    $81-million for this garbage??

I can’t begin to say how offended I am by that.

My mother was a teacher for decades and had a very positive effect on society and SHE deserves that kind of a payday. Not these scumbags
