[su_right_ad]A rally to protest Washington state’s background check law featured anti-government activists at the “I Will Not Comply” rally.

[The rally] was organized by Gavin Seim, an activist who had spent time at the armed standoff at the Bundy ranch in Nevada earlier this year, and drew several speakers who had also spent time with the Bundys, including “constitutional sheriff” Richard Mack and Three Percenter leader Mike Vanderboegh. (Cliven Bundy’s son Ammon was scheduled to speak as well but was a no-show.)

Vanderboegh, who gave a notorious speech at the Bundy ranch promising “civil war on a vast scale,” was similarly unrestrained in his remarks to the Olympia rally, calling supporters of the background checks initiative “domestic enemies of the Constitution” and suggesting that “Second Amendment remedies” may be necessary to combat them if political negotiations fail.

Promising to “win this or die trying,” Vanderboegh warned that “when democracy turns to tyranny, the armed citizenry still gets to vote! So be careful what you wish for or you may get it.”

Guns, the viagra for old, white, scared guys who just can’t keep their flaccid brains from expelling rancid air.

  2. edmeyer_able December 15th, 2014 at 9:31 pm

Although there would be some innocent people harmed in the scenario they want to initiate, part of me wants to see them start it. I have to stop wishing for it.

    • tiredoftea December 15th, 2014 at 9:37 pm

I know how you feel. These braggarts should have the courage of their convictions, which they don’t.

LORD have MERCY on the wickedly stupid.

Voting is a right yet these types are all for making new convoluted, race based laws to stop citizens from voting

    • Hirightnow December 15th, 2014 at 10:16 pm

Yet, if it keeps going their way, they’ll be surprised as f*ck when their voting rights are infringed upon for, say, dissent, or thoughtcrime…

      • tracey marie December 15th, 2014 at 10:16 pm

Felonies will get both rights taken away

        • Hirightnow December 15th, 2014 at 10:17 pm

Preaching to the choir, tracey…but I don’t need a gun.

          • tracey marie December 15th, 2014 at 10:24 pm

            I was agreeing with you.

          • Hirightnow December 15th, 2014 at 10:28 pm

            I know, tracey…but, in case you were unaware, I AM a felon…
And I have no need of a firearm to protect myself.
Take that as you will; I’m not planning any uprisings.
            (Not with guns, anyway…)

          • tracey marie December 15th, 2014 at 10:36 pm

I know you are, you told me. You can petition for both rights. I respect your views, especially on the gun/war/torture issues

          • Hirightnow December 15th, 2014 at 10:43 pm

Florida resident…I have as much chance of regaining my civil rights as Richard Cheney has of winning the Nobel Peace Prize.
But I can work for candidates, voice my opinion and back it up with the info I research, and that I find on sites like this, and generally annoy the rabid right as often as possible.
(The guy I was a caretaker for was a RWer…we had some decent discussions before he died; he used to go on about President Obama being a Muslim, just to f*ck with me (I know he didn’t believe it) and get the argument started…but he’d agree with my main points about human rights and American laws…you take what victories you can.)

          • tracey marie December 15th, 2014 at 11:01 pm

True, I believe it is wrong to not get the right to vote back. When anyone pays their dues to society they deserve a second chance at voting…guns, that scares me if someone has a felony with a gun

          • Hirightnow December 15th, 2014 at 11:08 pm

While my crime didn’t involve weaponry, and you can get a felony conviction for driving without a license, i have to agree with you on the basics of your point; I’ve been incarcerated with guys who shouldn’t be allowed to walk around in public, much less own a gun…prison does “things” to some people.

  5. Anomaly 100 December 15th, 2014 at 10:09 pm

    One word: drones.

    • Chris Evans December 15th, 2014 at 10:11 pm

      One can wish.

      • Anomaly 100 December 15th, 2014 at 10:20 pm

I mean, those drones are just sittin’ there doing nothing.

        • Chris Evans December 15th, 2014 at 10:22 pm

I was saying just that when the Cliven Bundy militia pulled arms on the federal agents… Why didn’t they just send in drones? It’s what I would’ve done. Got rid of the problem to begin with.

          • Hirightnow December 15th, 2014 at 10:25 pm

Not politically expedient…and besides; think of all the pictures of those “patriots” that the evil guvmint was able to get…(he he heh……)

  6. Chris Evans December 15th, 2014 at 10:12 pm

If you don’t have a criminal past, then you have nothing to worry about. That’s why they’re adamantly against background checks. They can’t get their gunz because of their criminal pasts.

  7. Maxx44 December 15th, 2014 at 10:14 pm

How can a reasonable person be against background checks? Oh, never mind.

    • Chris Evans December 15th, 2014 at 10:16 pm

      Key word there: Reasonable.

The insipid diatribe of angry old white men from the south has become so cliché.
It’s a repeating scenario of ignorant rubes trying to lead young illiterates toward a goal that is always angry, violent, superstitious, hateful, short-sighted and embraces the most pedestrian lowlife discourse of human society.

    • Hirightnow December 15th, 2014 at 10:20 pm

I picture Malcolm McDowell in the starring role….

    • Suzanne McFly December 16th, 2014 at 8:55 am

All we have to do is cut off their social security and Medicaid until they quit inciting riots, I bet they will shut up then.

    • edmeyer_able December 16th, 2014 at 9:49 am

      >The insipid diatribe of angry old white men from the south

Whew glad you added that last qualifier.

  9. Republicans_are_Evil December 15th, 2014 at 10:25 pm

Inciting gun violence is criminal, isn’t it?

  10. arc99 December 15th, 2014 at 10:25 pm

So Michael Brown’s stepfather is arrested for incitement to riot.

But the gun fetishist can make threats about using deadly force to achieve a political goal with no consequences.

And I am supposed to believe that race plays no part in this double-standard? Right wingers must think I am as stupid as they are.

(St. Louis, MO) – Michael Brown’s stepfather, Louis Head, has been formally charged with inciting a riot after encouraging a horde of angry protesters to “Burn this b**** down!”. His actions took place directly following the grand jury’s decision not to indict Darren Wilson in the death of Michael Brown. – See more at: http://nationalreport.net/mike-browns-stepfather-arrested-charged-inciting-riot-commanding-protesters-burn-this-b-down/#sthash.w6qa0X1V.dpuf

These clowns can’t pass any background check. That’s why 92% insist on background checks before every gun or ammo is ever sold again. Once bitten twice shy… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y15iusA4ylc

Chicken liver gun toting cowards, they’re all talk. Soon as they’re confronted with anything like- racism, they cower and deny.

I just can’t wait to see what the loons are cooking up now that they control congress

    • annaaurora December 17th, 2014 at 8:13 am

This is the problem and so a catch 22 for them. I see them on twitter trying to lure the protesters to their cause because in a sense their pissed off at what’s going on regarding police brutality. Now that 1.1 trillion dollar budget just passed they’re really pissed. Especially about the banking and the more funding for the parties to campaign with, corruption. They have no place to really turn. Cruz is playing right into their hands as is Warren and Sanders. This is going to get interesting.
