3-Year-Old Fatally Shot In The Head, Because Tuesday
Authorities say a 3-year-old boy is dead after suffering a gunshot would to the head in a Simpsonville, South Carolina home. At this point, police have not confirmed whether the shooting was an accident or not.
[su_center_ad]Police said the boy’s mother said her son, Michael Kyron Boyles, was in a bedroom when he was shot Monday afternoon, while the mother and the boy’s 2-year-old brother were in another room.
The AP reports that Investigators say they have the handgun believed to be used in the shooting and they are not searching for a suspect.
Deputy Coroner Kent Dill said that it appears the child was shot in the head.
No charges have been filed and police are continuing their investigation.
According to authorities, the father died from cancer earlier this year.

It will never end if parents don’t do their jobs and lock their guns up and away from their children. Parents should also be held accountable for not properly parenting like in this case…

We need to find a polarizing figure, like Candy Lightner that started MADD. Personally I’m not against gun ownership, but I do feel it needs to be responsible ownership – and I think you should have to prove it. I have to seriously question those gun owners that get their panties in such a wad over the “proving” part of it.

I have no problem with responsible gun owners, either. Locking up your weapons and the ammunition is part of that. I cringe when I see open carry pictures and they’re doing so many wrong things with their guns, things that would prompt my dad to take someone’s gun away until they were resposibke enough to handle it. He did that more than once at deer camp, pissing a few guys off but safety is more important than hurt feelings.

I have a question for the NRA. How many children are “accidentally” killed by other methods in homes that don’t have firearms? How does this number compare with the number of children who are shot? And remember, guns don’t kill.

When guns are kept out (not locked up) and children are around it equates to a potential tragedy. This looks like yet another case of bad parenting where the parent(s) failed to do their jobs and protect their kids…

There are no responsible gun owners, only lucky ones.
Keeping a gun in your house is like keeping high explosives in your garage. It doesn’t matter how careful you are, all it takes is one unlucky slip-up to bring tragedy to your family or your neighbors. No matter how many precautions you take, you’re still creating a dangerous situation for the entire community by your actions. Keeping guns in your house is an inherently irresponsible thing to do.

i’m sure this mother now thinks otherwise, as well as this great-grandmother: “MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) – A four-year-old was taken to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital in non-critical condition after a 6-year-old shot her Sunday night, according to Memphis Police Department.” this 4yr old was shot in the face.

This is a complete load of crap. There is no logic to this what so ever. Responsibly stored firearms pose no threat to anyone. How is a gun, locked in safe going to kill a kid? In addition (and I’m sure you won’t agree), gun ownership deters crime and allows for self defense, thereby offering greater safety in said responsible gun owners house. I 100% guarantee this gun was not properly stored (probably stored loaded, within reach of the child, not locked up). Furthermore, this is illegal, whether charges are filed or not, they should be, this is criminal negligence. However, a properly secured firearm is not the least bit negligent.

I completely agree. Guns simply do not belong in the hands of untrained irresponsible citizens. The Second Amendment’s purpose was to set up citizen-militias. Anyone who wishes to own a firearm should have to sign a contract that they can be conscripted at a moment’s notice. They should have to undergo basic training, with refreshers every second year. They should be subject to rigorous psychological evaluations periodically. Extremists of all types would be banned, especially violent racist right-wingers.
They should have to undergo firearm safety and operation training. There should be heavy taxes on guns and ammunition, to discourage casual owners from purchasing deadly weapons they are not prepared to learn to use properly.
There are simply too many idiots who own guns. It’s an issue of public safety.

Last month we had 3 year old contestant in the NRA Shooter of the month award….Way to go people
