Former Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell’s son Robert McDonnell was arrested early Thursday on a DWI charge.

[su_center_ad]I suggest probing him. Hey, I meant they should question him, mmkay?

NBC Washington reports:

Robert Ryan McDonnell, 23, was arrested at about 3:25 a.m. in the 2500 block of Sandpiper Road in Virginia Beach.

McDonnell of Glen Allen, Virginia, was charged with DWI and refusal, said the Virginia Beach Police Department.

Police said he is not currently in custody.

Robert McDonnell’s twin brother, Sean McDonnell, was arrested in October 2013 and charged with public intoxication.

Their parents, Bob and Maureen McDonnell, were convicted in September on multiple counts for accepting more than $175,000 in gifts, grifts and loans from a wealthy businessman.

McDonnell is facing possibly 10 years in prison.

Although it’s doubtful the boys will spend any time in jail, it sure looks like Mom and Dad are going to see the inside of a prison.

    • Guy Lauten December 18th, 2014 at 6:38 pm

The boys have it so tough now. Aw. Too bad, so sad. They’ve been demoted to “regular person”. Tsk tsk. Sic semper tyrannis.

Alan, would we have heard anything about this matter from you if McDonnell were a Democrat?

    • Carla Akins December 18th, 2014 at 5:59 pm

You mean like when he did stories on Filner, Yee and Weiner?

    • mea_mark December 18th, 2014 at 6:01 pm

Of course. You and a million other right-wing trolls would want to show up and gloat and all the while the ad revenue would come pouring in. Thanks for stopping by, be sure and click on an ad or two while your here.

What, him getting busted while not driving a loaner Ferrari the problem?

    • arc99 December 18th, 2014 at 8:01 pm

Right wing media attacked the Obama daughters who are minors, for their attire at the traditional ceremony pardoning of the Thanksgiving turkey. So please take your self-righteousness elsewhere.

For some reason I think his white privilege isn’t going to serve him too well on this.

    • Bunya December 18th, 2014 at 6:59 pm

I hope you’re right and “transvaginal” Bob goes to jail. I just love when these holier-than-thou folks are caught doing something less than commendable.

3:25 AM Thursday ….that’s some serious drinking. And than he drives, like the police aren’t looking for drunks at 3AM.

One more consequence of the McDonell’s unbridled greed.

  6. burqa December 18th, 2014 at 10:07 pm

I have met former Gov. McDonnell socially and feel sorry for the family.
This is not to say they do not deserve punishment for breaking the law, obviously they do.
Many in the state were looking for McDonnell to play a major part in resisting the Tea Party, and now he’s out of the picture for that.
He and his wife had to admit to some pretty awful things that took place in their marriage, including her crush on this Johnnie guy who was the main one behind corrupting them. Their daughter, of course was caught up in it all and now their son has been busted for DUI.
Again, I’m not saying this absolves them in any way, but there is a human element we should not be blind to.
The whole thing reminds me of the protagonist at the beginning and end of James Michener’s “Chesapeake,” a politician who went to Washington with the best of intentions who became mired in a Watergate-like scandal and returned home to Maryland in disgrace.
It’s just awful, and tragic, for the pressures and temptations hit them where they were weak and thus their fall.

    • tracey marie December 18th, 2014 at 10:51 pm

      oh please

      • burqa December 18th, 2014 at 11:51 pm

Can’t help it. A lot of dirty family laundry got aired and I feel sorry for them because things were already a mess in that household and it just got worse.
None of that excuses what they did and I’m not saying any of them should get a lesser sentence because of it, but I just can’t get totally cold-hearted about it, either, sorry.

        • raincheck December 19th, 2014 at 6:54 am

“A lot of dirty family laundry got aired and I feel sorry for them”
In my opinion… “airing their dirty laundry” was a ploy to get people to feel sorry for them… I think they knew a lot of their constituents, would relate to the things they did.. most likely they were counseled about what to say publicly, to gain sympathy….This happened out of pure greed… He threw his Wife “under the bus” which is probably where she belongs…
I’m curious as to how you met them socially? Are they part of who you hang out with?
I would consider, being forced against their will, to submit to an UN-necessary procedure, (vaginal probe),in order to get the healthcare they need” Should be considered “rape with a foreign object” I just can’t feel sorry for them… He took full credit for that… with pride.
I won’t knock someone like you who has a conscience

          • Bunya December 19th, 2014 at 1:49 pm

Their constituents are quick to overlook their criminal behavior, as long as they preface their apology with “I’ve asked Jesus and my family for forgiveness”. Low information voters always fall for that “see what a nice Christian guy I am?” crap.

          • raincheck December 19th, 2014 at 10:59 pm

Or as one of them put it recently “I prayed for hours over this with my Family” Or something to that effect. I’m talking about the woman that made the remarks about the Obama “children”

      • whatthe46 December 19th, 2014 at 2:35 am

thank you. why does burqa feel sorry, i don’t know why. they were in the best place they could be and they did this to themselves. we are all falible for certain, but what they did was comit intentional criminal acts. that’s not a mistake. then burqa goes on to say, “…Johnnie guy who was the main one behind corrupting them.” that’s the typical response we hear from the right, its not my fault, he’s the blame for me being corrupt. b.s.

      • whatthe46 December 19th, 2014 at 2:37 am

can you imagine if this was happening in the Obama family? yeah right.

    • rg9rts December 19th, 2014 at 4:47 am

This is called karma…you think that he had any sympathy or empathy for those that were crushed by his neanderthal policies of the bagger variety…Vaginal probe???

      • raincheck December 19th, 2014 at 5:51 am

“Vaginal probe” was my first thought. That one is just OVER THE TOP!!
For the life of me, I could NEVER figure out, how, he ever got a single vote from ANY woman!!

        • rg9rts December 19th, 2014 at 6:11 am

          Ask Bachmann ??

            Point taken…

      • Bunya December 19th, 2014 at 1:45 pm

I have no sympathy for “transvaginal” Bob whatsoever. He’s a miserable puke who used his power to gain favor with the uber-rich. He knew what he was doing was wrong, but did it anyway.

        • rg9rts December 19th, 2014 at 1:54 pm

          Its the gopee mantra…

    • whatthe46 December 19th, 2014 at 6:04 am

“…weak and thus their fall.” i wanna puke.

    • Bunya December 19th, 2014 at 1:55 pm

Of course you’re quick to give “transvaginal” Bob a pass. He’s supposedly one of those “poor persecuted Christians” you’re always whining about. I’m sure if his name was Mohammed, you wouldn’t be so quick to blame his blatant criminal activity on “pressures and temptations”.
