Two New York City police officers were shot dead as they sat in their marked car in Brooklyn.

[su_center_ad]

According to preliminary reports, both officers were working overtime as part of an anti-terrorism drill when they were shot point-blank by a single gunman who approached their car at the corner of Myrtle and Tompkins avenues.

“It’s an execution,” one law enforcement source told The Post of the 3 p.m. shooting.

The gunman just started “pumping bullets” into the patrol car, another source said.

The suspected gunman fled to a nearby subway station at Myrtle and Willoughby avenues, where he was fatally shot. Preliminary reports were unclear on whether he was shot by police or his own hand.

“They engaged the guy and he did himself,” one investigator said.[su_csky_ad]

Predictably, CNN (the Conservative News network) has alreadyhad two commentators with ties to the hard-rightists within the NYPD blaming people who had been outraged with the alleged murder of Eric Garner by rogue cops for the death of the two officers, who were on special assignment in Brooklyn. One, a former detective, even said that with the murder of these cops, Al Sharpton “got what he wanted”.

Pathological dissemblers on GOP TV aren’t capable of telling the truth even if their families lives were threatened while being held hostage.

    • Anomaly 100 December 20th, 2014 at 5:42 pm

I’m so not shocked that CNN would host such wild speculation.

    • tracey marie December 20th, 2014 at 6:02 pm

No one will correct the erroneous reported as truth lie that the yells for death were NOT done at Sharptons speech

      • Wayout December 20th, 2014 at 7:03 pm

This isn’t the first time for Sharpton. In Harlem many years ago his agitation against a Jewish owned business resulted in someone’s death. And this man has the gaul to call himself a Reverend?

        • OldLefty December 20th, 2014 at 8:06 pm

Like the reverends who support torture and call agitate against everyone THEY disapprove of?

By the way Sharpton apologized, but it’s amazing that you guys are so obsessed with him, while few on the left could care less about him.
But then, they don’t care about anyone on Fox either.

Another gun nut mass murderer takes the easy Wayout via gun-suicide.

“Chief Royster said the suspect opened fire on the police officers, ran up Myrtle and went into a subway station. The man died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, Chief Royster said.”-NYT 5:30 PM EST 15-minutes ago. http://www.nytimes.com/2014/12/21/nyregion/two-police-officers-shot-in-their-patrol-car-in-brooklyn.html

I see what you did there.

    • Wayout December 20th, 2014 at 6:58 pm

He was just another left wing wacko anarchist like you, most likely someone with a criminal record, who was egged on by the likes of Al Sharpton. Not man enough to face the cops, he had to sneak up on them like the scum rat piece of vermin he was.

As an afterthought, I wonder how the rank and file will react if Sharpton devotee DeBlasio, who threw his own officers under the bus just last week shows up at the funerals?

      • arc99 December 20th, 2014 at 7:48 pm

You have no idea what the politics of this murderer were, so stop lying.

There are murderous people of all stripes and I sure did not hear you condemning the entire 2nd amendment movement when this happened.

So take your lying hypocrisy and stick it.

April 2009: A white supremacist named Richard Poplawski opens fire on three Pittsburgh police officers who come to his house on a domestic-violence call and kills all three, because he believed President Obama intended to take away the guns of white citizens like himself. Poplawski is currently awaiting trial.

        • OldLefty December 20th, 2014 at 8:03 pm

Also, In Pittsburgh, Eric Frein who ambushed and killed the state trooper was a right winger.

Then there is the question… Why would you call an anarchist a left winger.

I thought left wingers were into BIG government, not NO government.

Libertarians would lean towards the anarchist.

          • Wayout December 20th, 2014 at 8:32 pm

Yeah, so he was a right winger. I agree, he was a rotten as a person could be. But he was not jinned up to kill by hundreds of people and their leaders keeping the fire hot.

          • OldLefty December 20th, 2014 at 8:52 pm

            Of coures he was.

That is am radio, Fox and the entire right wing does.

The same as Jerad and Amanda Miller, at the Bundy ranch calling for revolution , with Fox News cheering them on.

          • neworleans878 December 20th, 2014 at 9:02 pm

            “Jerad and Amanda Miller”

Never heard of them. If it’s not on Fox, it clearly doesn’t exist.

        • Wayout December 20th, 2014 at 8:30 pm

And who was shouting kill the cops? No one in that case. But now, with people marching and shouting for cops to be killed. Now that’s quite a different story.

          • OldLefty December 20th, 2014 at 9:14 pm

And who was shouting kill the cops? No one in that case.

            _______

Actually, No one was “shouting kill the cops”, like app 12 people were in NYC, but am radio and Fox News was shouting that the tree of liberty needs to be watered with the blood…

And how about..”Santilli agreed with Garrow’s call for guerilla warfare against Obama and urged Americans to participate in Operation American Spring, a rally calling for the president’s overthrow through potentially violent means.”

Again, not to mention the Bundy ranch.

And THESE people have a national audience.

The consequences of militarized policing and the horror of the denial of our problems are coming home to roost. Thee officers are presumed innocent of any wrong doing to deserve death, but they do represent an oppressive and near totalitarian regime with no respect for its citizens.

    • tracey marie December 20th, 2014 at 6:00 pm

this is wrong, to execute 2 people because of the actions of others is wrong wrong wrong!

      • tiredoftea December 20th, 2014 at 6:09 pm

Yes, it is. But no worse than the murder of how many innocents at the hands of the police? How many detainee’s tortured? We bring this on ourselves and should not think that this is an isolated instance of crime. It is a symptom of a diseased society that is plunging into criminal madness. It only stops when we recognize the sickness and start the road to recovery, which is a war crimes indictment and trial of the Bush administration.

        • tracey marie December 20th, 2014 at 6:13 pm

I am not comparing the situations, this makes it worse.

          • mea_mark December 20th, 2014 at 6:24 pm

Yes it does make it worse. Unfortunately, it is the institutionalized behavior of law enforcement, backed by the government, that is going to have to change first. The people are reacting to something that has become institutionalized.

          • tiredoftea December 20th, 2014 at 6:26 pm

            I agree.

It’s wrong, but not entirely unexpected. As long as the people don’t respect those enforcing the laws because they think the law officers are breaking the law and getting away with it, this should not be entirely unexpected.

        • tracey marie December 20th, 2014 at 6:13 pm

    • neworleans878 December 20th, 2014 at 7:17 pm

So…when Scott Roeder murdered George Tiller, I’m sure you said people like Bill O’Reilly and other R.W. media personalities had blood on their hands too…always calling him Tiller the Baby Killer over and over…

      • Wayout December 20th, 2014 at 7:35 pm

As regards Tiller, that was the truth. Tiller was “aborting”( i.e. killing) babies who could have lived. O’Reilly and others never advocated his killing. The activists of today however are actually calling for the death’s of police officers.

      You’re conflating these events.

Sharpton did not egg on the people who were saying they want dead cops.
They were unrelated to what he was trying to accomplish and support.
He has always maintained that peaceful, respectable protests are what is needed.

      • Wayout December 20th, 2014 at 8:26 pm

Sharpton did nothing to defuse the situation. He kept everything at a high pitch and then the anarchists flooded in and the game was on big time. And then you have the Mayor, siding with the leftists and scorning his own police force. No one should be surprised at this turn of events

        • mea_mark December 20th, 2014 at 8:48 pm

You don’t think the police should be scorned for being overly aggressive and not doing their job properly?

I don’t feel you could speak for someone else or know what they’re thinking. Nobody likes an over aggressive police force but then again the police are not trained to back down because a citizen decides that he’s not getting arrested for breaking the law, has a tantrum and then attacks a law enforcement official, WAY CRAZY. The police are here to stay and they’re not going anywhere, do you feel that your life would be better with out them? You will no longer be able to call on your neighbor for his loud music, barking dog, destructive children, that’s what I deal with every single day, in the country that I live in now they have a lessor form of law enforcement that come out, they are unarmed and they recommend changes only, worst case scenario they ask you to come down and sign documents to stop the bad behavior, I can do this but Liberals can’t ….. that’s a fact they’re really picky individuals same with the elderly, they’ll never let go the police force in the US, it’s best to live out in the country.

Rev Wright blamed 9/11 on the US government using it’s awesome power to oppress the people.

Jerry Falwell, and Pat Robertson blamed 9/11 on the US government NOT using it’s awesome power to oppress the people.

“forgetting?” more like selective memory. that and he doesn’t give a damn.

      • mcalleyboy December 20th, 2014 at 10:54 pm

Media is the problem, black on black crime is much higher. Police are humans they eat real food, have wife’s, kids and grand kids, Mom and Pop. Law enforcement deals with the slugs of society those that won’t conform to laws, this happens every day and all day long. I live in a country where you don’t dare act up around police and there’s nobody that will go to bat for you if you do, they’ll mention, what an idiot for thumbing is nose, hitting taunting a law enforcement official, if your a thug your a thug.

        • Kick Frenzy December 20th, 2014 at 11:10 pm

White on white crime is much higher too.
People tend to congregate into racial clusters.
Homicide occurs most often within those borders, because people tend to stay inside them… so if they’re killed, it was probably by someone of the same color.

In other words, that’s a straw-man argument and a flawed one at that.

Whether you think of all people who commit any crime as thugs and slugs of society still does not excuse shoddy police work leading to an immediate sentence of death.

You can’t seriously suggest that if you steal a box of Swishers and walk in the street instead of the sidewalk, that you deserve to be shot to death.
You can’t seriously suggest that allegedly selling loose cigarettes (insisting you weren’t, but then putting your hands up), requires a choke hold to be applied and maintained, ignoring about a dozen pleas that he couldn’t breathe, that leads to death.
You can’t expect anyone to believe that the 12 year old boy with the bb gun was treated justly when the police completely mishandled (and misread) the situation by charging towards him with a car, then shooting him dead within 2 seconds of arriving on the scene, the car barely in park.

There are a lot of great police out there, but there a large amount of bad ones too.
That’s what needs fixing, not ignoring it to save face for law enforcement.

The two police who were shot in cold blood did not deserve that and it’s heartbreaking that it happened.
I sincerely hope no more violence is committed in this struggle for accountability and fair treatment.

if you would stop trolling only to find where a crime has been commited by a black person, you’d have a heartattack when you realize that white people commit some of the most disgusting crimes against nature. ” Police are humans they eat real food, have wife’s, kids and grand kids, Mom and Pop.” well, those that were murdered by the police are also humans and have families as well. so, what’s your point? by the way, cops are thugs as well.

  5. neworleans878 December 20th, 2014 at 7:14 pm

Don’t like cops. Like cop killers even less.

    • FrankenPC . December 20th, 2014 at 9:35 pm

I’m getting pretty sick of murder in general.

      • neworleans878 December 20th, 2014 at 9:48 pm

Seems that as a nation, nay, as a species, we’re mighty blase about it.

        Very sad.

        • Kick Frenzy December 20th, 2014 at 10:54 pm

It also seems that that’s changing for the better.

    • mcalleyboy December 20th, 2014 at 10:48 pm

Same here I don’t like rules but unlike other citizens I take action and my response was to move out into the country. Citizens that want to live in the city make the rules, trouble is that most Americans don’t accept those rules, I’m tired of fighting them.

      • neworleans878 December 20th, 2014 at 10:59 pm

Many citizens don’t have a choice.

It’s a privilege to have it.

      • whatthe46 December 21st, 2014 at 7:34 am

accepting the rules should also apply to the police.

  6. Red Eye Robot December 20th, 2014 at 8:14 pm

http://youtu.be/dj4ARsxrZh8 The Reverend Al Sharpton’s disciples marching in NYC 7 days ago. Digest what you have created

    • OldLefty December 20th, 2014 at 8:18 pm

      Repeat;

      All 12 of them??

By the way, that was not Al Sharpton’s rally.

Fox sandwiched — without explanation — a clip of the “dead cops” chant in between two clips of Sharpton speaking at the “Justice for All” rally, conflating the two events.

      That’s a classic Fox trick.

But how is that different from, “2nd amendment remedies” and Richard Poplawski and Byron Williams going after the Tides Foundation because of Glenn Beck?

    • whatthe46 December 20th, 2014 at 8:50 pm

      you’re full of guano.

      • mcalleyboy December 20th, 2014 at 10:46 pm

Full of Guano…good one, Lol but you don’t find any issue’s with Rev Sharpton or Rev Wright? Are you ready to hold up your hand in front of God and proclaim that those two guys aren’t racists? and only add fuel to the fire, they both should be locked up, freedom of speech is okay until you encourage others to kill or destroy.

        • neworleans878 December 20th, 2014 at 10:54 pm

I don’t agree with what Wright said in that one sermon before Obama was elected. But understand the context.

But I’m curious…can you link me to a similar sermon by Wright that “influenced” Obama?

          • rg9rts December 21st, 2014 at 1:30 am

        • whatthe46 December 21st, 2014 at 7:33 am

“Are you ready to hold up your hand in front of God and proclaim that those two guys aren’t racists?” yeppers. speaking up for injustice doesn’t make you a racist. he has never encourged black people to kill cops or white people. but, white people have gone on air attempting to encourge white people to commit violence against others, regardless of race. hell, they’ve gone as far as wanting to murder gays and abortion doctors, and have murdered them. you’ve read where the right and the racist have asked for the president to be murdered, yet you dismiss that. how many “minorities” have suggested the same towards previous presidents? how many have attacked the previous presidents children and wives? how many times must we have to hear the KKK and the aryan nation and the supremacist rant on about the murder of “minorities?” yet, you want to believe that sharpton is a racist who insites violence. please stop.

    • FrankenPC . December 20th, 2014 at 9:35 pm

Who’s “you”? The cops who executed African Americans on the street? The Grand Jury that turned their cheeks? The right wing media who made our fellow African Americans out to be common criminals without due process?

      Who’s “you”?

      • mcalleyboy December 20th, 2014 at 10:30 pm

The black man shot in Ferguson stole items out of the store, reason they were searching for suspects, so that’s not considered a problem with you? And what are African Americans doing in the street…. It’s America they have side walks, most nations can’t afford to build side walks or have room for them, man you need to travel outside the US a little and see how good you have it.

        • FrankenPC . December 20th, 2014 at 10:39 pm

It’s amazing how little you value human life or the heavy impact on the loved ones who lose it.

A loving mother and father would never raise a child who does not value human life.

          • mcalleyboy December 20th, 2014 at 10:44 pm

I agree we love our children with all our heart and it’s not our fault if they don’t accept what we teach them. It’s not correct to blame others though (Police), I got tired of city rules so what I did next was to move away from the city, I don’t belong there and I don’t want my family exposed to a misunderstanding and out of control response by police, especially since my wife has an out of control behavior issue.

          • whatthe46 December 21st, 2014 at 7:23 am

we’re suppose to love our children with all of our hearts, but those who raise their children to hate, don’t love their children AT ALL! teaching your children to hate, means they never learn love.

        • whatthe46 December 21st, 2014 at 7:20 am

NO ONE was searching for a suspect. the racist chief of police admitted as much, actually he admitted that wilson knew nothing. and about streets/sidewalks, not every community has sidewalks. where i live, which is a middle class neighborhood, it doesn’t have sidewalks. aside from that, he was crossing the street. even more so, YOU DON’T get to shoot someone 6 times for doing so. WTF is wrong with you?

    • neworleans878 December 20th, 2014 at 9:45 pm

      MORON

  7. Foundryman December 20th, 2014 at 9:23 pm

This is squarely on right wing ideologues. The right wing are the ones who defend the killer cops, defend the DA who puts liars on the stand to get the result they want. It’s the right who support armed thugs defending a millionaire thief then condemn unarmed citizens for expressing their anger over a murdered teenager. It’s the right wing who constantly play the race card and use racial innuendos to support their positions (just look below at the comments about Sharpton). It’s the right wing who lay blame and create a scapegoat everytime their ‘get tough’ policies fail and another 12 year old with a toy is killed.
If not for the wanton disregard for a just and fair society by right wing ‘leaders’ things like this wouldn’t happen, these cops wouldn’t have been targeted by some some crazed vigilante had justice been served the way it should have been in several earlier cases. Radicalized or fanatical people will do crazy things once they believe enough is enough.
My heartfelt sadness and condolences go out to the families of these slain men, they did not deserve this, neither did Crawford, Rice, Brown or Garner.

    • mcalleyboy December 20th, 2014 at 10:27 pm

You must have had ear plugs in when Al Sharpton speaks, add the Rev Wright, so you don’t generalize much or have selective hearing?

      • neworleans878 December 20th, 2014 at 10:33 pm

I guess you were speaking out when folks were saying that Obama was born in Kenya.

I’ll condemn the chants in the marches. Will you be honest and condemn the birthers and their enablers?

        • mcalleyboy December 20th, 2014 at 10:40 pm

Not me, he speaks perfect English and after reading his life story, he’s American. You need to admit that both Rev Sharpton and Wright shouldn’t be your spokesperson on race relation’s, they are blatant racists, I don’t support those on the Right that have this one-way thinking it’s not healthy or natural.

          • neworleans878 December 20th, 2014 at 10:49 pm

Sharpton and Wright have been over the top at times.

Will you tar my whole side with what a few have said?

May I do the same for yours?

          • Kick Frenzy December 20th, 2014 at 10:52 pm

(That would be hard to do… their side has a plethora of people who already fit that category. We can easily count ours on just our fingers.)

    • Obewon December 20th, 2014 at 10:41 pm

In reality land guns kill just 3-5/100k in the well regulated North East and in the Pacific western Blue wall vs 20-15 gun deaths per 100k in the gun nuttiest states of #1 Palinbrawl’s Alaska, Cheney’s Wyoming, MT, AL, GA, FL, MS, MO, etc. https://twitter.com/SmPenisGunClub/status/546508625968377856

  9. greenfloyd December 20th, 2014 at 10:40 pm

These days it’s amazing how fast some seek to lay blame or characterize an apparent act of senseless violence as an “execution.” Ferguson player Deandre Joshua was executed, his body desecrated in a deliberate, planned act of violence intended to send a clear message to someone. Whatever comes to light in this case will only add to this unstoppable movement to enact DOJ law enforcement reforms along with “legislative fixes.” For both public and police safety!

    • Obewon December 20th, 2014 at 11:06 pm

This gun nut mass murderer and cop killer shot his girlfriend in Maryland earlier and bragged about that too!

“Brinsley, who was arrested on disorderly conduct charges in Georgia in 2005, also bragged about shooting his girlfriend. On his Instagram account, he posted a photo of army fatigues with apparent blood stains.”-NY Daily news tabloid. http://www.nydailynews.com/new-york/nyc-crime/cops-shot-brooklyn-sources-article-1.2051941

  10. crc3 December 20th, 2014 at 11:20 pm

Who didn’t see this coming? This could be the start of retaliation against police for the outrageous and unjustified killings of young blacks. Could also be the beginning of a “race war”…

“Some were saying, ‘They deserved it,’ and another was shouting at the cops, ‘Serves them right because you mistreat people!’”

This is the result of systematically depicting the police as villains. It is the end result of a political movement. It’s political assassination.
