[su_right_ad]Major Garrett pressed former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani on his statement that President Obama is anti-police. As Heather recounts at Crooks and Liars, the president is anti-police because Al Sharpton.

GARRETT: We turn now to the former Mayor of New York City Rudy Giuliani, who is also with us from New York.

Mr. Mayor, good morning.

RUDY GIULIANI (R), FORMER MAYOR OF NEW YORK: Good morning, Major. How are you?

GARRETT: Good.

Let’s clear one thing up. You said awhile ago that President Obama contributed to a rhetorical atmosphere about hating American police. And “The Washington Post” fact-checked you on that. I cover the president every single day. I have never detected anything that comes along the line of propaganda urging the country to hate police. Do you want to recast that or take that back?

GIULIANI: Oh, not at all.

I think you missed one very important point. He has had Al Sharpton to the White House 80, 85 times. Often, when he’s talking about police issues, he has Al Sharpton sitting next to him. If you would like to have poster boy for hating the police, it’s Al Sharpton.

You make Al Sharpton a close adviser, you are going to turn the police in America against you. You’re going to tell the police in America, we don’t understand you. I saw this man help cause riots in New York. I have heard his anti-police invective firsthand. To have a man who hasn’t paid $4 million in taxes, have a man who has spent his career helping to create riots, phony stories about police, to have that man sitting next to you speaks volumes.

Attack POTUS by attacking others who may, or may not, be near him. How many times was Rudy in the war criminal’s White House, many more times than Al? That makes him a war criminal, too, right??

“You make Al Sharpton a close adviser, you are going to turn the police in America against you. You’re going to tell the police in America, we don’t understand you.”
NO ONE understands the police in America you J.A. you hate Al because he speaks against the abuses of the P.D. and that’s a bad thing? if you don’t want to hear his voice or see his face, then clean your sh’t up. furthermore, what is a president suppose to do? ignore the plight of the minority the ones being abused? disregardl the fact that you’re a repuke or a democrat. listen to the cries of the people to make things better. you don’t simply ignore and hope they go away. that’s why sh’t is the way it is.

So if the President wants the police to take responsibility for their own actions, that means he “hates them”? Whenever something particularly nasty happens, the police authorities always attribute any problems to “a few bad apples”. Why, then, is nothing done about these bad apples? Why do they almost always escape any penalty beyond “administrative leave” (i.e. suspension with pay)? And if the President demands that something be done about the situation, that means you’re justified in literally turning your back on him?
I have to ask: who is it here that is actually displaying hatred, and against whom? And why?

    • granpa.usthai December 29th, 2014 at 1:17 am

why not just go for it and take a BLACK guess?

      • red-diaper-baby 1942 December 29th, 2014 at 1:30 am

You said it, granpa, not me.
If you’re a granpa. you’re probably about the same age as me, and seen the same terrible things in your lifetime as I have. Though in theory a granpa could be just in his 40s — a mere infant!

        • cecilia December 29th, 2014 at 4:12 pm

certain members of the police attacked Serpico when all HE wanted was a clean dept

the more things change the more they stay the same

          • red-diaper-baby 1942 December 30th, 2014 at 1:55 am

How right you are — and how hard that is to accept.

          • cecilia December 30th, 2014 at 8:31 am

those of us who REMEMBER have to speak out!

          • red-diaper-baby 1942 December 30th, 2014 at 10:53 am

How right you are, Cecilia, and I try. Yet often I despair. Those of us who were young in the early sixties were so filled with idealism and so hopeful for the future — yet look around now, that hope seems to have been futile. The whole country took a sharp right turn under Reagan and has never recovered. And when Obama was elected, again I had such high hopes; he tried to act in good faith, but he’s been obstructed on everything he’s tried to do. But in his last two years he’s evidently given up on trying to work with the obstructionist Congress and is going ahead on his own. More power to him!

          • cecilia December 30th, 2014 at 5:27 pm

            you should never despair.
that’s how pieces of feces like cheney (for example) get control.

            Never give Up
            Never give In

I have my own theories as to why Obama comports himself through life and frankly, I admire his restraint against the scum racist.

All I wanted from him was a President that didn’t embarrass me. He succeeded doing that by simply conducing himself in dignity and being able to speak correct English.

The fact that he’s ACTUALLY improved things a bit in this country is nothing short of astonishing. I really thought nothing would get better for a couple of generations at least

    Giuliani is full of crap.

Blood is on the hands of people who shed blood.

This includes cop killers. But it also include cops who kill unarmed black people.

  8. Stan Ubeki December 29th, 2014 at 1:02 am

I wish Obama would go after Giuliani like he did Trump.

    • granpa.usthai December 29th, 2014 at 1:22 am

better that he order the US Justice Department to start routing the WHITE RACIST out of public ‘service’.

    • fahvel December 29th, 2014 at 12:58 pm

      ignore rather.

  9. jasperjava December 29th, 2014 at 1:10 am

The words “Al Sharpton” are calculated to make racist white supremacists froth at the mouth. That’s their base, and they need to keep them stoked to white-hot hatred.

    • granpa.usthai December 29th, 2014 at 1:29 am

won’t do him much good. People all over the world are catching on to the ‘resurrection of the master race’. They tipped their hand in Nevada and are now trying to cover their tracks as fast as they can. They will fail because the more people who catch on, the more powerless they become. Giuliani is merely another white fascist attempting to deflect the knowledge of his beloved 4th Reich lest they too become a smoldering heap of ash even before they rise to power.

  10. granpa.usthai December 29th, 2014 at 1:44 am

somehow, I just don’t think it would take that much ‘help to cause riots in NY’ when WHITE RACIST idiots like this stroll around in office.

  11. Obewon December 29th, 2014 at 8:14 am

False projectionist Giuliani hates Police because he covers for the gun nut cop killing felon with a history of mental illness, whose gun was bought from Arrowhead Pawn Shop in Georgia! “As recently as 2010, Arrowhead was the leading out-of-state source of guns recovered by the New York Police Department in crimes”-NYT. http://www.nytimes.com/2014/12/25/nyregion/tracing-the-gun-used-to-kill-2-new-york-city-police-officers.html

Goolee-on-ee needs to lay off the *Fiery Rhetoric* and go wherever has-been mayors go when they’re not needed or wanted anymore!! No one wants to hear his racial slurs that don’t do any good, and just serve to ‘fire up’ the tempers of the extremists and radically-minded non-thinking thugs that are just itching for anything to be P.O.’d about!! What good does the aging ex-mayor think he’s doing, by blathering against Al Sharpton and trying to stir up the ‘mobs’ — is he wanting riots to break out, or just what?! He’s the only one I hear speaking out of turn (and out of place nowadays) — Sharpton is an advocate for the black people — yes — as he should be, they need him, and he does not cause the trouble, he is just there to ‘run interference’ when the trouble occurs, you might say! Giuliani causes more friction and chaos with his mouth in the midst of things where he doesn’t even belong!! It’s time that EVERYBODY NEEDS TO JUST “ZIP IT UP” — AND LET THINGS CALM DOWN!!! You all are beginning to look like a bunch of thug-hoodlums, festering for a fight and it is way beyond what should be going on by now!! Go home to your “Other Woman” that you left your wife and family for, Mr. Ex-Mayor, and stay there — you are not relevant anymore!! 🙁

This has been will say anything to get some media attention.

  14. Elliot J. Stamler December 30th, 2014 at 1:32 pm

Giuliani whom I personally intensely dislike, is 100% right about Sharpton. I live in NYC. Sharpton is the # 1 black racist in the city and maybe the country, outpacing his good friend, Farrakhan. Sharpton hates white people and double-hates Jews. Every single comment Giuliani makes about Sharpton is true..Sharpton has fomented riots, pogroms and murders. Nothing would make me happier than reading of Sharpton’s death for the same reason I’d be very pleased to read of David Duke’s death. The president should be ashamed of consorting with Sharpton who is a nasty, self–aggrandizing, tax-cheating hustler and always has been. Some of these comments herein validate why much of what passes as “liberalism” nowadays is as much a perversion of what liberalism really is as what passes as “conservatism” is a perversion of legitimate conservatism. This is why to be an honorable person of sensible progressive ideas one must be as I am, a moderate and centrist.
