A white male  teacher at a mostly black and Latino Bronx middle school says he’s the target of discrimination.

[su_center_ad]

Paugh William Shadow of upstate Port Jervis charges he was discriminated against as a white man at MS 391, according to a Manhattan Supreme Court lawsuit he filed against the city and the Department of Education.

Shadow claims he was falsely accused of corporal punishment, using derogatory language and leaving his post; and that school administrators refused to back him up on disciplinary matters and failed to reimburse him after he bought materials for his science-lab students.[su_csky_ad]

It’s one thing for him to claim the charges are false, but how does it equal discrimination? Simply because he’s white and some/most of the students and/or the D of E are black? Shouldn’t he need to show proof? If there is none, his union will spend a lot of money for a lawyer for nothing. And the taxpayers too.

    • Carla Akins December 29th, 2014 at 2:38 pm

Maybe he’s just a douche bag and they don’t like him.

      • Larry Schmitt December 29th, 2014 at 2:41 pm

Always a possibility in these types of nuisance suits.

  3. tracey marie December 29th, 2014 at 2:27 pm

So he has nothing but a racist belief system and he is attempting to cash in with bogus whines

    • Larry Schmitt December 29th, 2014 at 2:34 pm

Pretty much what I took from it too.

      • tracey marie December 29th, 2014 at 2:38 pm

        It is so obvious

    • End Fascism December 30th, 2014 at 6:11 pm

So can we automatically dismiss all claims of racial discrimination as “bogus whines”, or is it only when white people are being targeted?

      • whatthe46 December 30th, 2014 at 9:37 pm

“Shadow claims he was falsely accused of corporal punishment, using derogatory language and leaving his post;…”

how is that “racial discrimination” against him?

  4. Larry Schmitt December 29th, 2014 at 2:48 pm

And that last claim, about buying materials for his class? It’s my guess that most public school teachers are spending their own money on a regular basis, and rarely getting reimbursed. My sister does it all the time. If there were money available in the budget, they wouldn’t have to buy it themselves in the first place.

  5. burqa December 29th, 2014 at 10:21 pm

I have no idea whether this guy has a case or not. It’s too early to reach conclusions.
But in the meantime, while we’re waiting for the facts to come in, let’s all pretend that discrimination is a function of skin color rather than character so we can deny that it ever happens to a white person.
That’s the way the herd is supposed to think, right?

    • End Fascism December 30th, 2014 at 6:08 pm

      That’s exactly how they think.

    • whatthe46 December 30th, 2014 at 9:38 pm

how many cases have you heard of where a white man or white family has been discriminated against at a restaurant? because they are white. i’ll be waiting.

Voter intimidation? Doesn’t count if it’s the Black Panthers.

1,000 incidents of the knockout game? Zero prosecutions for black on white hate crime.

    • Carla Akins December 30th, 2014 at 3:38 pm

Are you certain you’re commenting on the correct story? No voter intimidation here, just a whiny guy unhappy that his white privilege didn’t elevate him to the status he coveted. Unlikable people are unlikable people and racists rarely admit their honest feelings.

      • End Fascism December 30th, 2014 at 6:08 pm

Not surprised that you would make a knee jerk dismissal of guy’s claim as being some “whiny” guy, It puts you right in line with the Holder DOJ refusing to prosecute Black Panther voter intimidation or black on white hate crime with the widespread incidents of the knockout game.

        • Carla Akins December 30th, 2014 at 6:24 pm

Oooh, they said means things to him.
When whites have been held as slaves then subsequently subjugated for a couple of centuries, their most basic civil rights denied to them – get back to me and we can talk about how tough it is to be white and male in America.

The Jews have been persecuted by a larger share of the world for a much longer time and they survived the horrors of a much more recent holocaust of six million of their people, and yet still they’ve thrived in America and across the world.

You know why the Jews are so successful? Because they don’t have a bunch of race hucksters making a living telling them how many different ways they should think of themselves as victims. The poorest 5% in America have it better than 95% of the world and the blacks in America have it 100 times better than their dark-skinned, war-ravaged, limb-hacking, female genital mutilating, Ebola hemorrhaging, AIDS baby raping kin in Africa. But the grievance peddlers will never acknowledge just how lucky blacks should consider themselves in being here rather than there.

            _______

And they don’t have the race hucksters like FOX News.

Meanwhile do you have a clue what whites have done, and the how much the West has supported radical Islam?

          • whatthe46 December 30th, 2014 at 9:32 pm

what history book are you reading from and where in the hell did you get your false information from? if i could, i would fk you sideways with words for your ignorant rant re: Africa and black people here and Jews alike.

I had my fill of that argument during the Hobby Lobby debate. Simply because women in the middle east may live under horrific conditions – does not mean that women in this country should shut up and be grateful. The “someone else has it worse” argument is an incredibly ridiculous stance.

Holder DOJ refusing to prosecute Black Panther

          ______

You mean the Black Panthers working for McCain, intimidating black voters, in a 99.9999% Democratic polling place?

          As opposed to the Az Minutemen;

Anti-immigrant activist in 2006 case reportedly had
“9mm Glock strapped to his side” at polling place. A
          November 8, 2006, Austin American-Statesman article reported
(from the Nexis database): “In Arizona, Roy Warden, an anti-immigration
activist with the Minutemen, and a handful of supporters staked out a Tucson
precinct and questioned Hispanic voters at the polls to determine whether they
          spoke English.” The article continued:

Armed with a 9mm Glock automatic strapped to his
side, Warden said he planned to photograph Hispanic voters entering polls in an
effort to identify illegal immigrants and felons.

          Arizona Daily Star:
“[A]nti-immigrant activist” “stood by with a firearm in a
holster.” A November 8, 2006, Arizona Daily Star article
          reported

A crew of anti-immigrant activists, meanwhile,
visited several South Side polling places in what one poll-watch group called a
blatant attempt to intimidate Hispanic voters.

Anti-immigrant crusader Russ Dove circulated an
English-only petition, while a cameraman filmed the voters he approached and
Roy Warden stood by with a firearm in a holster.

Diego Bernal, a staff attorney with the Mexican
American Legal Defense and Education Fund (MALDEF), said the trio was trying to
intimidate Hispanic voters. “A gun, a camera, a clipboard before you even
get to the polls – if that’s not voter intimidation, what is?” he asked.

Bernal said his group encountered the men at the
Precinct 49 polling place at South 12th Avenue and West Michigan Street and
began documenting the scene with their cameras. “There was an interesting
period where they were taking pictures of us taking pictures of them.”

          Tucson Citizen:
Incident “reported to the FBI.” A November 8,
2006, Tucson Citizen article (from Nexis) reported that
Mexican American Legal Defense Fund lawyer Diego Bernal “said he reported
the incident to the FBI.” The article also reported that Pima County
elections director Brad Nelson said: “If intimidation or coercion was
going on out there, even though it might have been outside the 75-foot limit,
it’s something we take very seriously, and we’ll be looking into it.”

      • William December 30th, 2014 at 6:51 pm

What he failed to mention is that not one single person in Philadelphia came forward to complain of voter intimidation. Which is why the DOJ dropped the case (no complainant no case).
Now I find out that it’s because the black panthers knocked everyone out.
This is BIG,BIG,BIG. I need to call Glenn Beck right away.

    • William December 30th, 2014 at 6:38 pm

Would you please be so kind as to post a reference that links the black panthers to the knock out game?
      Thanks in advance.

      • whatthe46 December 30th, 2014 at 9:25 pm

you crack me up with your “view(s)”

    • OldLefty December 30th, 2014 at 9:01 pm

Voter intimidation? Doesn’t count if it’s the Black Panthers.

      ______

      Both of them??

The Black Panthers working for the McCain campaign?

      The knockout game?

Despite the hysterical scaremongering, street crimes
committed by strangers have actually decreased by an astounding 77% from 1993 to 2010. The fact remains that you are still far more likely to be beaten,
robbed, sexually assaulted or murdered by someone you know.

      http://www.bjs.gov/content/pub/pdf/vvcs9310.pdf

And for once, some people in a position to know better aren’t giving in to the panic. Police commissioners across the country are expressing skepticism about the very existence of any “knockout game” trend.
Many of the major stories connected to it have turned out to be unsubstantiated or outright hoaxes. And news outlets from NPR to Slate have declared the knockout game to be an urban myth, not a trend or growing cluster of evil.

Every few years, the “trend” of bored delinquents assaulting random strangers gets some new designation. Back in the late 1980s and early 1990s, it was “wilding.” In the mid-aughts in the the U.K., it was “happy-slapping.” In recent years, the news media in Philadelphia, was filled with stories of “flash mobs.”
(Every report on knockout gives it a different name, too: “point ’em out,
knock ’em out,” “one-hitter quitter,” “knockout king.”)

There is particular concern within the department that widespread coverage could create the atmosphere where such a “game” could take hold in New York.

      http://www.npr.org/blogs/codeswitch/2013/11/27/247366898/the-knockout-game-an-old-phenomenon-with-fresh-branding

Could that be the goal of conservative MSM?

The New York Times says that, “police
officials cautioned that they had yet to see evidence of an organized game
      spreading among teenagers online,”

      Here’s the fascinating thing about
this “spreading” trend: nobody seems to have any evidence that it’s spreading,
or that it’s new, or that it’s racially motivated, or that black youths are the
ones typically responsible, or that whites are typically targeted

      http://www.cnn.com/2013/11/22/justice/knockout-game-teen-assaults/index.html

This is precisely the type of story meant to animate the deepest recesses of our lizard brains

“Dr. Shadow taught mathematics and science to 7th graders. His bio from his school profile, which has now been deleted, says that he “has taught overseas as well as in NYC. Besides science, Dr. Shadow has a passion for acting and has been on TV shows, commercials, movies and video games.”

Shadow is also a part-time actor, appearing in television shows like “The Good Wife” and “The Daily Show” with Jon Stewart. His IMBD profile lists him at 6’6″, saying he began acting at the age of seven and continued acting through college.

The NYCDOE has not yet replied to Dr. Shadow’s specific claims.
