[su_right_ad]A 2-year-old child reached into his mother’s purse, took out a gun and pulled the trigger.

The woman reportedly had a concealed carry permit.

The unidentified mother was shopping with her son along with several relatives in the store when the boy, sitting in the front of the shopping cart, found the gun in her purse and shot the woman at about 10.15 a.m., according to The Guardian.

Authorities believe the shooting death in the electronics section of the store was accidental.

Kootenai County Sheriff’s Lt. Stu Miller said one of the children, a 2-year-old, reached into his mother’s purse and pulled out a hand gun and shot her.

“She is deceased,” he said. “We are in the process of contacting her relatives.”

KREM reports that Walmart issued a statement.

“A very sad incident occurred at our store today involving the death of a female customer. We are fully cooperating with the Kootenai County Sheriff’s deputies as they investigate this matter.”[su_csky_ad]

The proliferation of firearms does not make us safer.

Pointing out that salient fact is not an attempt to infringe on anyone’s second amendment rights. It is an observation of reality.

More cars = more traffic accidents

More guns = more firearms accidents

    It really is that simple.

    • whatthe46 December 30th, 2014 at 7:05 pm

      more guns = more murders.

Her son was making every effort to improve his mothering situation?

Um…. I’ve stumbled upon a revelation here. Whenever there is a story about a gun control group/organization/movement, the pro gun machine springs to life, the chain e mails go out and the attack begins.
When there is a story (and there have been many), about another senseless death at the end of a gun barrel the second amendment crowd doesn’t weigh in at all.
    Conclusion.
They (the aforementioned crowd) are shocked, dismayed and genuinely afraid of anti gun groups. They will absolutely gather en mass to show their indignation at the prospect of gun control.
    Bullet ridden corpses?
    Not so much

    • whatthe46 December 30th, 2014 at 7:02 pm

exactly. everytime a story like this and others are reported on this site, i look for them, even egg them on to comment. SILENCE.

    • mea_mark December 31st, 2014 at 10:22 am

Maybe we should figure out a way to combine stories. It would be fun to see how they would react.

      • William December 31st, 2014 at 10:49 am

I just invited one of them to join us in one of the articles concerning the senseless slaughter of Americans via gun. We’ll see

step up WALMART! that could have been someone other than his mother or family member. it could have been another child or another parent killed in front of their child because mommy is afraid of the invisible bad guy at 10 in the damn morning.

    • John_St_John December 30th, 2014 at 7:12 pm

Makes you feel all warm and fuzzy to think that one moment you are looking at a fruit basket and the next moment being fitted for a casket. Better make sure funeral insurance is paid up.

  9. Guest December 30th, 2014 at 7:22 pm

Listen, the mother should have been more careful as to having the gun without the safety on, in her purse, in front of her child. When I was a kid I always messed around in her purse when I was in the buggy because it was fun. Pick up her matches, pick up her lighter, pick up her keys, wallet, etc. It’s what kids do. It’s not the firearm’s fault, and it’s certainly not the child’s fault. The reality of this matter is that stupid people who senselessly carry around a firearm in close proximity to their children don’t deserve to own firearms, and don’t deserve to carry a CWP. Gun safety and education is the most important aspect of owning a firearm of any kind.

    • whatthe46 December 30th, 2014 at 7:37 pm

“Gun safety and education is the most important aspect of owning a firearm of any kind.” a cop was in mcdonald’s with his tot who took his gun out of his pocket and shot the father in the leg. how’s that for gun safety?

Another martyr for the second amendment. I guess you can pry that gun out of her hand now

  11. bobrobertson December 30th, 2014 at 8:00 pm

If only the mother had a gun to defend herself with, she’d still be alive.
Thanks to all you gun grabbers now her son will have to bury his own mother.

at least they got “1” shooting right. the dumbasses.

    • Carla Akins December 30th, 2014 at 8:36 pm

This was the quote in the Guardian: “witnesses and video surveillance from the store helped deputies determine the shooting was accidental.”

The shooter was a toddler, did they think it was premeditated?

      • cecilia December 30th, 2014 at 10:23 pm

question. does anyone think the family of the “victim” will sue Walmart for allowing weapons on the premises? there are attorney’s out there hoping the family comes to them and try. any cyber bets?

    • Ron Luce December 30th, 2014 at 10:11 pm

I won’t take the bet but haven’t these Red states passed every law possible making guns legal everywhere?

      • tiredoftea December 30th, 2014 at 10:15 pm

Yes, she is proof point number one with a concealed carry permit! Sure helped her with the bad guys with a gun.

        • whatthe46 December 31st, 2014 at 12:35 am

but, isn’t it up to private businesses to decided if weapons can be in their establishment? movie theatres have a gun-free zone. its w/in their rights. right?

          • tiredoftea December 31st, 2014 at 2:23 pm

As if the gun fetish crowd cares about anything other than their own rights.

          • whatthe46 December 31st, 2014 at 2:51 pm

            yeah, you’re right about that.

  15. Ron Luce December 30th, 2014 at 10:12 pm

If you have an IQ above 50, you know that owning a gun INCREASES the chance that you or your loved ones will get shot.

    • rg9rts December 31st, 2014 at 3:54 am

That also disqualifies you from NRA membership

  16. cecilia December 30th, 2014 at 10:21 pm

The father-in-law of Walmart shooting victim spoke with KREM 2 News Tuesday night. He called the shooting “tragic.” He added the family “lost a beautiful, loving mother.”

yeah, and the kids lost a moron who doesn’t know how to put the damn safety on the damn gun.
They will grow up to to be
    1) traumatized
    2) just as retarded

sorry if I don’t sound ‘sad’ enough but I’m getting sick and tired of these kinds of stories

  17. William December 30th, 2014 at 11:02 pm

Dang liberals blaming the gun AGAIN

  18. rg9rts December 31st, 2014 at 3:53 am

Still time for entrants into the NRA shooter of the month and he will go into the juvenile marksman group.
Why would you need a gun in walmart…this wasn’t Texas

    • whatthe46 December 31st, 2014 at 4:22 am

my son is in college in dallas. (i miss my heart) and he called me to talk to him while grocery shopping. (1st time on his own) he was asking about what grocery store he should shop at and kroger came up. well, his aunt as well as i told him not kroger. we told him why and he agreed, he would not want to be anywhere there’s gun nuts were. smart cookie.

      • rg9rts December 31st, 2014 at 4:26 am

This NRA shooter of the month is getting old but EVERYDAY it happens and those are only the ones that make the news.. imagine what happens that we don’t hear about… what a stupid country

        • whatthe46 December 31st, 2014 at 6:46 am

i love that we are on the same page.

  19. Candide Thirtythree December 31st, 2014 at 8:54 am

In some othe the other articles about this story it says the 29 year old had ‘some’ of her kids with her…then it says that 4 of her some odd kids where with her but no where could I find just how many kids this woman had. If I had that many kids before I was 30, I would not trust myself with a gun…maybe this was suicide by toddler?

  20. Foundryman December 31st, 2014 at 11:31 am

Of course this is being reported as a ‘tragic accident’, that the young woman was a ‘responsible’ gun owner who did everything right. Except for the fact that she’s still dead. It’s almost weird how they overlook the obvious every single time someone is killed with a ‘legally’ owned and bought gun.
