[su_right_ad]A New York police officer is in custody following an attack on an MTA worker on a Bronx subway platform.

Officer Mirjan Lolja turned himself in at his precinct, authorities said. No charges have been filed. He has been suspended from the force, according to the NYPD.

The 28-year-old MTA officer told investigators that she was attacked at about 2:30 a.m. Dec. 23 by a man on the D train platform at the East Tremont Station. The man grabbed her from behind and pushed her to the floor, where he choked her and then fled.

The victim, who was wearing her MTA uniform and on duty at the time, was treated at an area hospital for minor injuries to her head, neck and back. [su_csky_ad]

WTF?! He’s been suspended? At a minimum the NYPD needs to finish the job and fire him. They need to clean house and get rid of those cops who think they have free reign to do as they please!!

well i guess “only arrest if necessary” applies to them as well. but, wasn’t that always the case as it applied to the cops. how can you turn yourself in for an assault and nothing? this is exactly why people are pissed.

No charges filed??? LOL I guess it wasn’t a necessary arrest according to the NEW NYPD arrest standards

just because someone is dressed in a MTA uniform and on the platform doesn’t mean they’re not a secret Muslim terrorist planting a bomb before Christmas. Certain civil liberties must be surrendered (like, doing your job) if we are to have adequate protection from possible terrorist attacks.

Did this BS excuse have a positive effect on you?

The paranoia of possible terrorism has turned the NYC police force into a gestapo of sorts. The off duty cop was out of line and should be fired!

Anyone know if the entire incident is on video?

“The officer said he fought with the conductor after she cursed at him for asking when the next train would arrive. When he demanded her ID and took out his phone to take a picture of her, she grabbed it, prompting a struggle.”
