Sounds like another case of suicide by cop. You can’t act erratically and pull a gun of any kind on police officer and not expect him to respond with deadly force. If they hesitate they would most probably be shot, perhaps dead. The whole thing is very sad for all involved.

my thoughts exactly. Suicide by cop. People too afraid of killing themselves outright or having little to no patience by shooting themselves with a BB until one lodges under their skin and becomes fatally gangrenous.

What else could the police have done? Waited to see if the gun fired bullets or pellets first? And at least this guy wasn’t black. Sharpton is busy enough as it is.

Sounds a bit like a premeditated suicide by cop situation, by a tormented soul. My only thought is why an incapacitating gun shot wound is never plausible.
