[su_right_ad]New York Mayor Bill de Blasio hates cops so much that when they’re injured he visits them in the hospital. If he didn’t go, cops wouldn’t like that. But, wait! He does go and this cop didn’t like that.

NYPD officer Andrew Dossi was visited by Mayor de Blasio and Commissioner Bill Bratton at St. Barnabas Hospital Monday night after he and his partner were shot by robbers shortly at a grocery store after their shift ended Monday, and according to his father, the Mayor was not a welcome site.

‘He wasn’t too happy about the Mayor’s visit,’ said Joe Dossi.

This as the alleged gunman responsible for the attack has been taken into custody.

‘He deals with some crappy people every day and getting no support (from Mayor de Blasio), come on,’ added the elder Dossi while speaking with the New York Post.

‘These are the guys in the trenches dealing with anything and everything.’

Because visiting an officer in the hospital is “no support.”[su_csky_ad]

Just think how pissed off this wounded cop would be if Deblasio hadn’t visited him while recovering from his wounds…
These people want their pity party it both ways..

    • tracey marie January 6th, 2015 at 5:40 pm

I so agree with you, they will whine and pull the victim card because the Mayor spoke the truth.

      • StoneyCurtisll January 6th, 2015 at 6:32 pm

The truth seems to piss some people off…

Blithering childish idiots. If these racist defending/enabling police officers think they will win the day; they don’t have a grasp on reality.

  4. arc99 January 6th, 2015 at 5:59 pm

The irrefutable fact is that Mayor DiBlasio was elected by an overwhelming majority of the people the NYPD is tasked to serve and protect. It is hypocritical of them to condemn young black men who automatically see an enemy when they see a cop, then turn right around and treat their boss the exact same way.

Dissing the Mayor is essentially dissing the people of New York who elected him to the tune of all most 70% of the final vote.

    • greenfloyd January 7th, 2015 at 5:07 am

De Blasio is to some in the NYPD, as Obama is to some members of Congress. He represents a new generation, a shifting ideology, a new philosophy of policing and leadership that makes the old-guard nervious and grouchy. Like Obama with Congress, he can not move his agenda very far with police leadership in open rebellon. Another stalemate.

  5. whatthe46 January 6th, 2015 at 6:08 pm

he wasn’t happy about the hospital visit, well hear this asswipe, the family of the innocent murdered victims at the hands of the police are not happy about having to visit grave sites! the mayor isn’t responsible for what happened to you or the murdered cops.

    • Ray M. January 6th, 2015 at 10:47 pm

“the family of the innocent murdered victims at the hands of the police are not happy about having to visit grave sites”

I’m not familiar with this cop’s history. Is he responsible for any murders?

      • Kathy McGrath January 6th, 2015 at 11:44 pm

Why do you keep asking stupid questions? Is the mayor responsible for any murders? Only according to these moron cops and the vomit that fox “news” spews 24/7. No one can criticize murdering cops? Sorry, I call bullsh*t.

      • whatthe46 January 7th, 2015 at 1:47 am

is the mayor responsible for the murder of cops? i’ll be waiting.

        • Ray M. January 7th, 2015 at 2:06 am

          Of course not.

Instead of leading the City in healing as a response to the Michael Brown incident, De Blasio fanned the flames of racism and hatred towards the police.

Instead of reassuring the City that our justice system is strong but imperfect and asking for calmness, De Blasio showed solidarity with Sharpton.

De Blasio alienated all cops when he implied his biracial son had more to fear when possibly dealing with police than the criminal elements in the high-crime and dangerous neighborhoods that police officers risk their lives to patrol.

  6. BillTheCat45 January 6th, 2015 at 6:11 pm

About time to start using the term “pigs” again. Now that it’s very apt.

  7. Suzanne McFly January 6th, 2015 at 6:39 pm

Well we have the fact that cops are doing less arrests as a type of silent protest. This will work so well in their favor, giving out less tickets as well as making fewer stops which will bring in less money for the city, and the whole time the city remains standing and nothing horrific has occurred. To me, this shows New York my have too many cops on the force and maybe some should be laid off. de Blasio could save millions for this chronically taxed city, this will send his ratings through the roof. All this shows is how these simpletons have decided to run this wagon off a cliff.

34,000 cops that cost the city $144,000,000 in 13 to settle claims

As a teacher and ex-sailor, my professions would be wrecked if we had these types of statistics. I don’t know any job, other than a cop, where they are so insulated and protected.

I thought about it and I believe weather casters have terrible statistics also, Doesn’t cost nearly as much as a law suit against a cop though.

He served in Iraq without getting shot then comes home and gets shot. NYC will lose their title as the safest large city in America.

    • whatthe46 January 7th, 2015 at 1:45 am

the innocent citizens of NYC who were gunned down or choked to death, these victims were not safe in the safest city in America, by the very people who are paid, by the victims and their families, for protection. so, it isn’t the safest city for civilians right, where the police are involved?

      • Ray M. January 7th, 2015 at 2:33 am

No matter how rare it is, the police should be prosecuted for their crimes. No one is above the law.

  9. eyelashviper January 6th, 2015 at 7:01 pm

    What an ungrateful guy..
De Blasio has busted his ass while in office, working to fulfill his campaign promises (who does that anymore?), and the cops in NYC are disrespectful and act like spoiled children.

New York’s Finest? I think not, that goes to the citizens, and the good Mayor.

    • greenfloyd January 7th, 2015 at 3:41 am

      What an ungrateful guy.

I think that’s harsh considering what he, and his partner, went through. Even with Dossi and his papa’s crazy rant. The guy took a bullet fighting crime, even if he is a racist or actually believes de Blasio is “anti-cop.”

I don’t know how this “visit” actually went down. If the mayor’s advance people did not clear the visit with Dossi, he should have stayed away out of respect for the wounded officer’s wishes, and avoid the scene it’s caused.

    • rg9rts January 7th, 2015 at 8:00 am

Lynch is running for PBA president so its all rabble rousing by that POS IRA wanna be

  10. Foundryman January 6th, 2015 at 7:37 pm

He should get well, then the mayor should have him fired or suspended for getting himself shot. Where I work, if someone gets hurt on the job, the company always find it was the workers fault, something he did wrong. This is no different. We can assume this stellar leo is a trained professional right? It’s his own fault he’s in the hospital, getting paid for doing nothing. New Yorks finest are all in the FDNY.

    • Ray M. January 6th, 2015 at 10:43 pm

Is there any evidence the officer did anything wrong with regards to the shooting?

      • Kathy McGrath January 6th, 2015 at 11:40 pm

Is there any evidence the mayor did anything wrong with regards (sic) to the cops? These thugs and their union thugs will turn ther backs on anyone who might have a small problem with cops murdering people.

        • Ray M. January 7th, 2015 at 3:02 am

I never suggested the mayor should be fired or suspended.

          • rg9rts January 7th, 2015 at 7:59 am

You respect the office if not the person… even Rudi said so

      • rg9rts January 7th, 2015 at 7:58 am

No and two pillars of the community are going to stay here awhile longer..at Rikers

      • Foundryman January 7th, 2015 at 8:43 am

He got shot didn’t he? New Yorkers need to stop making heroes out of these guys when they f**k up. Going around acting the way they do like they’re some kind of immortal god that can do no wrong, then (figuratively and literally) turn their backs, insult and degrade the very people they are sworn to protect should land them on a real job and far away from an immunity badge.

        • Ray M. January 7th, 2015 at 9:11 am

People view them as heroes not because they’re infallible but because they are indeed human yet still put their lives on the line to protect the community.

  11. Kathy McGrath January 6th, 2015 at 11:45 pm

Dear Andrew Dossi – Fu*k you. You even look like a skinhead thug.

    • Ray M. January 7th, 2015 at 2:50 am

Bill Bratton cited the officers’ bravery by putting themselves in harm’s way when the off-duty officers could have gone home.

But if Dossi was a “skinhead thug” then it changes everything. I can’t wait to read more about this in the media.

      • Mike Lemmon January 7th, 2015 at 4:09 am

The pigs need to get a grip.

  12. greenfloyd January 7th, 2015 at 3:00 am

Seems to me the mayor should have stayed away and sent a get-well card instead. I think it’s a shame officer Dossi and his father turned it into a political thing. The mayor’s visit is a public expression of sympathy and support for a cop that broke-up an armed robbery and was injured in the line of duty… Instead its become another sideshow in the NYPD Freak Show.

  13. rg9rts January 7th, 2015 at 7:57 am

This cop is an example of what a class act the NYPD has become…

      • Ron Jackson January 7th, 2015 at 1:12 pm

So if the police are not allowed to violate the civil rights and get away with murdering black people without fear of consequences, that somehow means they can’t do their job? The Mayor told his son what every parent of a black child should tell their children,if they wish for they children to survive any encounter they will have with the police.

        • Ray M. January 7th, 2015 at 1:51 pm

Fixed: The Mayor told his son what every parent of a black child should tell their children

          • Ray M. January 8th, 2015 at 6:25 am

This has nothing to do with race. ALL parents should teach their children how to act when confronted by the police.
            – yes sire, no sir
            – no sudden movements
            – keep hands in plain sight
            – comply with their directions

The time to express your dissatisfaction, if any, with the police is after not during the encounter.

          • AmusedAmused January 8th, 2015 at 12:38 pm

What if their directions include that you should have sex with them?

What “working conditions” would that be? Being a little bit accountable to the public while being public servants? Oh, the horror!

  15. Um Cara January 7th, 2015 at 8:41 am

Folks who get bullets stuck into them at work have the right to complain about anything they want to, IMO. He earned the right to not like the mayor and to say so (especially to his father, for crying out loud). For those of you criticizing this officer, I’m not sure why you feel so strongly about a few words passed between father and son. I guess I could understand you criticizing the father though.

Thank you for your service and get better, Officer Dossi!

I’m commenting on the above article which talks about a guy who got shot at work who then complained about his boss to his father, and then a bunch of people ragged on the working class union guy who got shot and told his dad he didn’t like his boss. If he’s being used by someone I’m most definitely on board with ragging on the dude using him.

…besides you respect the OFFICE not the man …even Your ideal Rudi said so.

Is your last name ‘Palin’ by any chance? You make a pretty fabulous word salad, there must be some relation…

I guess you are saying I like Rudy ‘911’ Giuliani? No idea where you got that idea, but I don’t recall having much nice to say about hizzoner. I remember saying a bunch of bad things about him however…

And Mayor Bill de Blasio is my favoritist NY mayor since I became aware of NY mayors (Ed Koch in his last term, I guess).

        • rg9rts January 7th, 2015 at 10:25 pm

the kid is a political tool

As said, anyone using him for a tool is a tool. I guess you are angry that we agree on that point or something?

          • Um Cara January 8th, 2015 at 8:39 am

not as old as you thought you were

I’m exactly as old as I think I am – what a bizarre statement, rg9rts. My comment regarding Koch wasn’t to prove I was older than you, lol – it was to give you context as to who I was comparing the current NY mayor to, as you had made some pretty kooky assumptions.

nor as versed in city politics

I appreciate this officers contributions to my safety and believe he (and everyone else on this planet) has the right to complain about his boss to his dad. If you disagree, bully for you, lol.

If I cut through all the ad hominem, your on topic point seems to be that folks using him for political purposes are bad. We agree.

Who is / is not a moron in your opinion, who is / is not older, who is better versed in city politics, all of these things are very uninteresting to me, but whatever rocks your boat, I suppose.

You are just doing as you were told when you insult me, and I harass you about it. I can assure you it won’t happen again!

    • AmusedAmused January 8th, 2015 at 12:56 pm

Folks who get bullets stuck into them at work don’t have any greater right to complain than anyone else. (Remember, some folks get bullets stuck in them without getting paid for it. Some folks get bullets stuck in them without the benefit of disability pensions, sick leave, paid-for medical care and public accolades; and they get fired from the sh**y jobs they do have for getting bullets stuck in them and missing work as a result. What do you think their rights with respect to complaining are, especially when they get shot by incompetent or overzealous cops?) Being police is police officers’ JOB — one we taxpayers pay for. And in the midst of all this contempt that cops show for us, unworthy civilians, whom they increasingly treat as the enemy in an occupied land, they should remember that THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO WORK FOR US. You know, otherwise what is the point of having cops at all? They aren’t better than the rest of us, they aren’t more special; they don’t enjoy any special greater privilege to kill willy nilly “because of all the stress”; their policing doesn’t earn them brownie points redemable for choking a few to death or pumping bullets into people. They are public servants. It’s time they remembered that.

      • Um Cara January 8th, 2015 at 10:28 pm

Excellent point – even folks who don’t have brand spanking new bullet holes in their bodies have the right to complain about their boss to their dad.

        • AmusedAmused January 9th, 2015 at 12:27 am

Lolwut? What do rights have to do with the price of tea in China? Let’s not get hysterical, no one is trying to send this guy to jail, execute him or fire him for b*thing to daddy. You have a right to make complaints, including ill thought-out, unreasonable and just plain dumb complaints. The fact that he has a right to complain (just like everyone else) doesn’t mean he’s entitled to automatic deference or endorsement.

          • Um Cara January 9th, 2015 at 3:28 am

Lolwut? Automatic deference or endorsement? Someone’s arguing for that? I suppose I do automatically defend the right of people lying in hospital beds (bulletized or not, to your point) to complain about their boss to their dad.

Don’t get too hysterical about it, or be unreasonable or dumb, it’s just an opinion I hold. No puppies will die because of that opinion.

Let’s not get hysterical, no one is trying to send this guy to jail, execute him or fire him for b*thing to daddy.

There are some pretty nasty comments on this thread, far nastier than my suggestion that it’s reasonable for people to talk to their family about the boss.

          • AmusedAmused January 9th, 2015 at 9:08 am

Sure, but your comments are pretty dumb and irrelevant by any measure. No one here has suggested that legal impediments should be created to prevent police officers from whining to their fathers about the mayor. So unless you can point me to a statute or regulation codifying “lese majeste” or identify commenters who argue for that to be law, your comments aren’t actually addressed to anything that’s being discussed. And just so we are clear, I whole-heartedly acknowledge your right to make dumb comments and hold ignorant, irrational and uninformed opinions.

Now that this topic appears to have been exhausted, I suggest you go find a new set of windmills to tilt at. Perhaps the idea that water is wet needs your valiant defense, who knows.

          • Um Cara January 9th, 2015 at 7:37 pm

Sure, but your comments are pretty dumb and irrelevant by any measure.

You must have a remarkable amount of free time then, lol. I don’t seem to have the time to respond to things I consider irrelevant comments these days. I hope some more fulfilling activity is in your near future!

No one here has suggested that legal impediments should be created to prevent police officers from whining to their fathers about the mayor.

Erm.. Neat? I do think this young *hero deserves more support than just not calling for legal impediments to free conversations with his father.

But I guess you are pretending my original quote was referring to legal rights or something:

He earned the right to not like the mayor and to say so (especially to his father, for crying out loud).

I wasn’t suggesting folks were trying to pass laws against his speech, but rather he deserved the right to not be horribly insulted for doing so. Surely you understood this and were just looking for a way to work “lese majeste” into a sentence?

I suggest you go find a new set of windmills to tilt at.

I’m a lib. Encouraging compassion & fighting for working stiffs is how we roll.

*My opinion of the man, I did read your above comments regarding the fact that you believe he’s really just the hired help, nothing special.

  17. Kirk- Out January 8th, 2015 at 5:21 pm

Psychological testing must be alot different these days . It used to filter out right wing whackos as well as left wing flakes. Nowadays cops hate anyone and everything that might speak out against the most rich and powerful among us.
