Retired Air Force Lt. General Thomas McInerney blames the Paris shooting on “political correctness” and says it will likely happen here because of New York’s “communist mayor.”

Political correctness is killing us, this is a prime example,” Tom McInerney said. “Look, our own president says that the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria is not Islamic. Please!”

“Until we hold the Arab world and the Muslim world accountable for letting this radical Islamic ideology — which as I have said before is as evil as Naziism, Fascism, and Communism, it is not a religion — until we hold these people accountable and in their own environment as general al-Sisi of Egypt said a few days ago when he chastised the imams for preaching this kind of radical ideology,” he continued. “So the west, the entire world, must hold Islam and the Muslims accountable.”

Host Brian Kilmeade [of “Fox and Firends”] alleged that many French cops don’t carry firearms, and said at least that wasn’t the case in New York City.

“But with the current leadership in New York, and I’m referring to the communist mayor you have up there, that may change,” McInerney replied. “So I think that the world better wake up.”

McInerney is bitter he never was promoted to full Colonel. So now his rants are given a role in the Fox News diatribe against Democrats.

    • Larry Schmitt January 7th, 2015 at 10:56 am

      He’s a retired Lt General. That’s 4 grades above a Lt Colonel.

which is certainly an accolade for the promotion system of aholes.

I was, when it was still SAC HQ. It had its share of aholes.

Lt. Col. (ret.) McInerney does for news analysis what Jay McInerney does for literature: make me vomit a little.

  3. Carla Akins January 7th, 2015 at 10:09 am

Can somebody buy these guys a dictionary, I don’t think they know the meaning of Communist, or Socialist or Marxist….

    • crc3 January 7th, 2015 at 10:38 am

Obama has been called a socialist…communist…nazi…fascist…terrorist…Muslim etc. People name calling have no idea what any of these terms mean thus anything they say means nothing to the well informed (like us of course!) 🙂

      • Foundryman January 7th, 2015 at 12:28 pm

Don’t forget the ‘Kenyan Colonialist’ whatever that is…..

      • bahlers January 8th, 2015 at 6:20 am

As did people with Bush, so I think we can agree that the vast majority of the American populous is very misinformed.

  4. Foundryman January 7th, 2015 at 10:25 am

The crazy is growing in this country and instead of standing united if an event like this would occur, they would definitely try to blame the left and infringe on civil liberties even more.

  5. arc99 January 7th, 2015 at 10:33 am

What happened in Paris yesterday has already happened in Oklahoma City thanks to a caucasian, Christian gun-owning right winger

We better start locking up everyone who fits that profile asap.

Two can play this ignorant game a$$hole.

Far righters seem to think “political correctness” is some kind of magic phrase that instantly wins all political discourse, like a spell from a Harry Potter book.

    • OLDNAVYVET January 10th, 2015 at 1:36 am

Lets see now, Distinguished Service Medal w/ Oak Leaf Cluster, Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit w/ Oak Leaf Cluster, DFC w/ Oak Leaf Cluster, Meritorious Service Medal w/ Oak Leaf Cluster. Air Medal w/ “17” Oak Leaf Clusters, Air Force Commendation Medal w/ Oak Leaf Cluster, Vietnam Service Medal w/ “6” Service Stars. Not to mention 407 combat missions & over 4,100 flying hours. Do your homework little boy before you open you mouth. By the way where and when did you serve your country?

      • William January 10th, 2015 at 2:05 am

WTF do decorations have to do with anything? I have a few of my own and over 7000 flight hours, but that doesn’t give me license or privilege to validate insane innuendo like this moron.

        • OLDNAVYVET January 10th, 2015 at 3:05 am

Again where and when did you serve? How much combat time? No combat Vet would ever call another combat vet a “Moron!” You certainly have a right to disagree and he has a right to his opinion. However disrespecting a man who served his country for over 40 years indicates that you probably never served at all. Try showing a little class junior.

          • William January 10th, 2015 at 10:01 am

Oh you want my resume huh.
            OK Airdale
Twenty years 6 months and thirteen days.
3 years aboard the USS John F Kennedy, then one tour NRD Buffalo (My only shore tour), then 13 years VP Navy. Eleven overseas deployments, 7213 flight hours.
            I was a flight engineer.
One of the fundamental rights I enjoy as an American is calling someone out on their stupidity. Military service doesn’t make you any more or less of an American.
If you want to strut about claiming to call the shots because of a DD214 that’s just fine. Lee Harvey Oswald was also a veteran, and his service didn’t qualify his opinions either.
Try showing a little class old man. Trading on your service doesn’t impress me (or anyone else), and it doesn’t make you an expert.

          • OLDNAVYVET January 10th, 2015 at 6:05 pm

As I thought “0 combat time.” I thank you for your “non-combat” service. That being said you are ranting and rambling and not making much sense. I guess it is all that “non – combat ptsd.” has made you incoherent. I guess it is your pitiful attempt to pass as a “Pseudo- Intellectual” Guess what it does not work. So continue on being “crude, crass and vulgar,” as it shows how well you were raised.

          • William January 11th, 2015 at 12:44 am

Uh no I didn’t include that. I consider my service ordinary at best. That’s because I survived and I think I’d be a bit of a douchebag if I were to pat myself on the back while so many others didn’t come back from patrol at all. But don’t let THAT stop you. Tell us all about your “combat” adventures. I’m sure you’re just DYING to tell everyone what a hero you are. Oh please DO favor us all with your tales of daring do, Maybe if I post a picture of a ship as MY avatar I can be a REAL ‘Murican hero JUST like you.
            Here’s another thing I learned.
Right wing wackos who use their service as some sort of credential in an attempt to impress others, were generally geedunk warriors who spend their waning life at the legion trying to convince the other drunks how important they are.

          • OLDNAVYVET January 11th, 2015 at 1:43 am

As I said you truly are a “Loud, Obnoxious, probably born out of wedlock Punk” I am sure your father would be proud, too bad you don’t know his name!

          • William January 11th, 2015 at 2:00 am

My Dad landed at Leyte Gulf, and my parents were married until death, but we STILL haven’t heard all about YOUR “COMBAT”. What’s the matter Skippy? You find a real vet who isn’t not impressed with your little DD avatar? Poor baby. Calling me names MUST mean you’re winning the argument huh?
Now c’mon tell us NON heroes about how you saved ‘Murica.

          • arc99 January 11th, 2015 at 10:13 am

fascinating exchange William. as you puncture each one of his myths about who and what liberals are, his last response is a juvenile personal attack.

unfortunately, that is right wing America in the 21st century.

          • William January 11th, 2015 at 4:48 pm

Well when one considers the right wing heroes (Limbaugh, Nugent) and the like, a veteran of any kind is a novelty and fills them with awe. When a real veteran like McCain condemns the practice of torture, the right will simply dismiss him, and run to get advise about military affairs from people like *giggle*. Hannity. It’s not only fascinating but well worth some sort of study. What I found interesting is being called “sonny”(I’m sixty years old). I was in my teens before I even knew about what these guys did. They are my uncles. One was a command pilot with 35 missions over Germany, another was shot to pieces during the Normandy invasion, then there was my Dad. These guys never bragged, talked about the war or tried claim divine right simply because of their service. I learned later that it wasn’t because of the horrors they endured, it was because the guy down the street didn’t make it back at all. They felt humbled by that.
Likewise I am humbled by the guy who couldn’t afford the coveted college deferment and didn’t make it back

      • Budda January 11th, 2015 at 6:20 pm

You sound like that creepy, weird uncle that everyone ignores at Thanksgiving dinner. You bluster like a cartoon character.

  8. Larry Schmitt January 7th, 2015 at 11:02 am

““Until we hold the Arab world and the Muslim world accountable for letting this radical Islamic ideology — which as I have said before is as evil as Naziism, Fascism, and Communism, it is not a religion — until we hold these people accountable and in their own environment as general al-Sisi of Egypt said a few days ago when he chastised the imams for preaching this kind of radical ideology,” he continued.”
Take a look at that paragraph. He never did complete his thought. He said “until” a couple of times, but never came to a conclusion. Maybe he should have written it down. But I would ask him, do we hold Christians accountable for what their radical elements do? When we start doing that, we can hold Muslims in general accountable for what the radicals do.

    • bahlers January 8th, 2015 at 6:15 am

How many Christian sects have hijacked an airplane and crashed it into a few buildings killing thousands of people? How many Christian sects have beheaded journalists, set roadside IEDs, etc?

      • OldLefty January 8th, 2015 at 6:46 am

Aside from the obvious examples like the Odlo massacre, and the Nazis, and Jim
        D. Adkisson, Richard Scott Roeder, Von Brunn, Byron Williams James G. Cummings, Jerad and Amanda Miller, Eric Frein Poplawski,

How many radical Christians have been supported by super powers as we (The West) supported radical Islam over the last 70 years.

      • Larry Schmitt January 8th, 2015 at 7:08 am

It wasn’t Islam that committed those atrocities, it was radicals who happen to be Muslim. Was it Christianity that bombed the federal building in OKC? Or was it two criminals who happened to be Christian? The crimes aren’t worse because they are committed by a particular group.

  9. fahvel January 7th, 2015 at 11:05 am

Fox’s ratings are through the roof, so they must be doing something right, no?

        ______

        1) Yes. They tell a small niche audience exactly what they want to hear.

        2) Cable news viewers compose a small sample of total news consumers. Cable news appeals more to conservatives.

While die hard Fox viewers are watching Fox, other cable viewers are divided among the other stations, while the majority are not watching any cable news.
