[su_right_ad]Congressman Steve Scalise, voted against a resolution apologizing for slavery when he was a Louisiana state legislator.

A 1996 article from the New Orleans Times-Picayune says that Scalise later backed a watered-down version that expressed “regret” for slavery. But the article identifies him as one of two lawmakers who tried to kill the original resolution, which apologized to African Americans for the state’s role “in the establishment and maintenance of the institution of slavery.”

Heck, I was thinking about the Jesus’ forgiven David “diaperman” Vitter. Anybody who can still show his face after it has come to light that he likes to crap in adult diapers and have prostitutes change him, gets my nomination for the “most shameless politician” award.
