Palin called for Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel to be fired after he used the word “retard” during a private meeting with Democrats.
“Just as we’d be appalled if any public figure of Rahm’s stature ever used the ‘N-word’ or other such inappropriate language, Rahm’s slur on all God’s children with cognitive and developmental disabilities – and the people who love them – is unacceptable, and it’s heartbreaking,” Palin wrote on Facebook at the time.

As the parent of a person with a developmental disorder, it is not Sarah Palin’s obligation to comment on every single person who uses that loaded word – just because the said person happens to be in her party.
I’m sure SHE wouldn’t use it and that’s what matters. If you have a problem with Nugent, then take it up with him.

Sad thing is, that Sarah Palin won over people in 2008 by saying that the parents of special needs children would have a friend in the White House in her.
She had an opportunity to devote herself to something meaningful, but she chose instead to seek minor celebrity by pandering to a niche audience with pettiness and vindictiveness.

Ya see, unlike you, I actually listened to Rush’s comment where he mentioned the r-word. And while I would personally never say it to prove a point, that’s what Rush was doing. He was responding to the White House Chief of Staff using the word and prefaced his remark that he expected it would draw the hypocrisy of the word police. Lest not forget that you’re comparing a radio host to the White House COS.
But, whatever, I wouldn’t expect you to understand context.
Oh, and that doesn’t make Rush correct in using the word…just in case you thought about projecting that thought onto me before I explicitly state it.

That’s not always the case though Anon, and this is what I mean by that:
Rush Lim, to me, is a whacko. But I defend his right to do his schtick on radio, say weird things and I go on my way. And for most, that part of defending free speech is the norm. However, if he is quoted as saying ” 2 + 2 = 4″ and I see folks who don’t like him say how wrong he is and stupid, I’d also come to his defense because he actually is right, regardless of my opinion of the nitwit.
But that doesn’t mean it would be accurate to say I support rush; I’m supporting the statement only.

Palin’s hypocrisy is her problem, not Nugent’s. Whether or not SHE would use the term did not seem to be all that mattered to Palin and her apologists when it provided an opportunity to rant about liberals.
