[su_right_ad]Mike Huckabee knows what the right side is (pun intended). He knows what’s right for you children and how you should raise them. And the Obamas are on the wrong side.

Former Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee suggested on Sunday that President Barack Obama had not taught his children that Beyonce’s music was not “wholesome” because the Obamas lived on the wrong side of the “cultural divide.”

In an interview published by People magazine last week, Huckabee had said that he didn’t understand why the Obamas could be so concerned about what their daughters ate, “and yet they don’t see anything that might not be suitable for either a preteen or a teen in some of the lyrical content and choreography of Beyoncé.”

On Sunday, the former Arkansas governor told ABC host Martha Raddatz that people needed understand the “context” of his comments.

“Beyonce is a wonderful talent,” he admitted. “My point is, she doesn’t have to do some of the things that she does in the lyrics because it’s not necessary. She has nothing to make up for. She’s an amazing talent.”

Huckabee made sure he said Obamas were great parents. Why? They make sure the kids eat their vegetables. He must know this because of all the meals they’ve shared.

“Well, what you put in your brain is also important,” he added. “It’s about this cultural divide, the disconnect between the three bubbles of New York, D.C. and Hollywood vs. the land of ‘Gods, Guns, Grits and Gravy.'”

Torture and execution of dogs is ok for the evangelicals.

Hey Huckster, the United States is not a theocracy … yet.

Guess you’ll have to wait a bit longer before you can impose your particular brand of religion-based bigotry upon society.

    • burqa January 19th, 2015 at 12:46 am

      YEAH!
Just because he has freedom of religion it doesn’t mean he has freedom of speech!

      • arc99 January 19th, 2015 at 12:53 am

Certainly Mr. Huckabee and like minded souls have freedom of speech.

Those who think that it is inappropriate, I daresay boorish and downright crude to be criticizing the way the President raises his children, have that same freedom of speech.

I agree with you. I think it was inappropriate of Huckabee, and quite ridiculous, too. I can see the point he’s trying to make, but he’s trying to build a brick house with straw.
I can see he’s trying to make a point about coarse aspects of our culture and is trying to glom on politically to the Right by trying to attach it to Obama.
I am at a couple disadvantages. One, I clubbed the Bush twins and criticized the parenting of them. Two, I am not familiar with Beyonce’s music. I could not name a single song of hers and wouldn’t recognize it on the radio. So I don’t know if she’s really raunchy or just sassy or whatever.
That said, I think Huckabee knew he was stepping over the line because he pretty much contradicted himself and it would have been fun if Raddatz had poked a little one way or the other because she could have gotten him to keep spinning like a rotisserie chicken. I would have enjoyed a few more revolutions.

Huckabee’s a goofball who may be safely ignored. He’s not going anywhere but back to the TV studio and that’s it. The corpse of Sonny Bono has a better chance of becoming president than Huckabee. He has no power and no real influence.

I’m getting pretty sick of your schtick of defending the indefensible. “An opinion about morality”? Seriously? Since when does a lying shyster like Huckabee know anything about morality? Beyonce is Black, and that makes her immoral, I suppose. Michelle Obama is Black, so she can’t possibly be a good parent.

Right-wing ultra-conservative theocratic evangelical jackbooted creeps like Huckabee and his ilk are a threat to ALL our freedoms.

They are poisonous snake charmers who convince gullible goobers into voting against their own interests by using the Bible as a bashing club.

They are evil bigots who hate anyone who doesn’t look like them or worship like them.

If you think that fighting against Huckabee is fighting against Christians or Christianity, then you don’t know who Christ is or what Christianity is.

If this brand of right-wing bigotry is what you consider to be Christianity, then join the GOP. Enjoy your lynchings and cross-burnings with the rest of the evil phony “Christians” of the neo-confederate extreme Right.

And I never tire of your “counter-schtick” – schtick.I know I can count on an exasperated spatter every 4 or 5 months. It not only assures me I’m on track, but I take it as a sort of sign. Like this time it might mean we only have 6 more weeks of winter or something.

If Huckabee knows nothing about morality, he may still have an opinion.

I can’t comment on Beyonce because I don’t know anything about what she does. I doubt I’ll agree with Huckabee, since I was digging Alice Cooper, for one, when I was a teenager.

I disagree with you about Huckabee’s influence. No, wait, you’re not in America, are you? Maybe I got you mixed up with someone else, but aren’t you way over in New Zealand or something? That could account for thinking Huckabee is some major figure influencing the masses. He’s really not.

Sorry, but my political beliefs do not determine my spiritual ones. Maybe they do for you, but really now, it’s rather presumptuous of you to think you are qualified to determine for me what I believe or know, spiritually.

My God is more inclusive than yours, it seems.
I like that about my God.

So self-righteous religious nut jobs have the right to spew crap about those who they deem to be sinners, but the rest of us don’t have the right to criticize them for their sanctimonious B.S.
        Got it.

  4. Bunya January 19th, 2015 at 1:16 am

I encourage Mike Huckabee to continually grace us with his irrelevant observations. It’s always interesting to hear what sanctimonious, holier-than-thou religious fanatics who possess less than desirable parenting skills, opine on the parenting skills of others.

Considering who says ‘Obama is on the wrong side’ is a good thing.

This twit couldn’t find his way out of a paperbag with a map and a flashlight

  7. Apocalypse January 19th, 2015 at 3:34 am

A southern redneck Christian minister for President? Sounds like the makings of a theocracy with so many christian fundy republications already controlling the house and senate. If he could…I bet he would favor censoring Beyonce…since its a culture war.

So called Christian spews so much hate and fear,He should actually read the whole Bible instead of the cliff notes for racist white people.

Oh, the bubble he was talking about … is the one they live in. So …

  10. William January 19th, 2015 at 9:14 am

…… told ABC host Martha Raddatz that people needed understand the “context” of his comments.
You mean the comments that call in to question the President and the first lady and their parenting skills, versus your success at raising a kid who hung a dog and tortured it to death?
    You mean those comments?

    • Suzanne McFly January 19th, 2015 at 9:38 am

Awww, come on William, you are quoting his words and not his intentions. These are two totally different things and if you cared about America you would present the huckster in a better light. lol

      • William January 19th, 2015 at 10:48 am

Yeah, you have a point there. A politician who aligns himself with a pedophile draft dodger, surely loves Jee-bus and should be given the benefit of the doubt.

        • Suzanne McFly January 19th, 2015 at 11:46 am

No, now that you have whipped out the nugget pic, you have me questioning myself. You are right, hucksters intentions need no benefit of the doubt. 🙂
