[su_right_ad]Hot on the heels of his race-shaking quasi-announcement of his pseudo-candidacy, Mike Huckabee sucked up a lot of media wind with an excerpt from his new book, God, Guns, Grits, and Gravy, in which he slammed pop superstar Beyoncé, and called her husband a pimp:

“Beyoncé is incredibly talented — gifted, in fact. She has an exceptional set of pipes and can actually sing. She is a terrific dancer — without the explicit moves best left for the privacy of her bedroom. Jay-Z is a very shrewd businessman, but I wonder: Does it occur to him that he is arguably crossing the line from husband to pimp by exploiting his wife as a sex object?”

That bit of vomit-inducing moralizing is part of a broader theme in Huckabee’s book — the clash of cultures between what he calls the “Bubble-ville” of New York, Washington, and Hollywood, and the “Bubba-land” of God, Guns, Grits, and Gravy. Huckabee’s criticism, which he extended to President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama for allowing their children to even listen to Beyoncé, has set tongues wagging for the past week, but the obvious subtext has been all but ignored by the mainstream media.

For whatever reason, Huckabee thinks Jay-Z is a “pimp” for promoting his wife’s career, yet he doesn’t seem to have a problem with other musicians who promote female family members with even more notoriously sexualized acts. Take Billy Ray Cyrus, for example, who has wholeheartedly embraced daughter Miley’s de-Hannah Montana-ization. Now, who’s this playing bass with Billy Ray, and not calling him a pimp?[su_center_ad]

If the choice of the word “pimp” to describe Jay-Z wasn’t clear enough for you…READ MORE

Mike Huckabee has little if any bearing on American society, other than a tiny fraction religious lunitics whom seem to regale him as some type of “profit”, (no spell check needed)

Ironic homophone, don’t ya just love it?

Lets not forget that this is the VERY same Huckabee that wants to chastise the President and the first lady for allowing their kids to listen to Beyoncé.

And he “jams” with Billy Ray…
What message dose that send to Hanna Montana fans?..(as if she is a paragon of young girls morality)

      • William January 20th, 2015 at 5:28 pm

The message was, is and will remain the same. All manner of crooks, pedophiles, addicts, convicts and perverts are welcome in the big tent as long as they hate the black guy.

Fringe candidates like “The Huckster” get rich from speaking to fools who are soon parted with their money. He’s a one-trick pony.

I’m glad jon called him on his hypocrisy…seems like so many people are afraid to do it

    • Candide Thirtythree January 21st, 2015 at 1:31 am

Huckster don’t care, republicans don’t watch Jon Stewart, he is just trolling for indie voters who might happen to be racists.

  7. Booya Bible January 20th, 2015 at 7:49 pm

This is straight race politics. I’m often loathe to say as much and remain charitable when possible but this is so BLATANTLY obvious that he wants to pit Bubba against black people. His advisors sat him down and said, “Look Mike, if you wanna win, you gotta race bait. Just straight up race bait.” Don’t believe me? He even uses the world Bubba and “good ol boy” in his exchange with Jon Stewart. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2015/01/20/jon-stewart-mike-huckabee_n_6505176.html

What a hypocrite! I don’t recall any criticism from him when Dubya’s daughters were out getting drunk every night. Nope. That’s when the huckster calls on everyone to do the Christian-like thing and “love the sinner, hate the sin”. Truly disgusting.

  9. Candide Thirtythree January 21st, 2015 at 1:28 am

That dog whistle of calling a black man a pimp is all he needed to get out over the air waves…he is not even going to try to defend all the times that he has been right there on stage with white trash that do stuff 10 times as bad as any of the dozens of black people he is bashing, he doesn’t have to because all he wants to do is to make sure all the racists in the country know that he is the biggest racist in the race.

He knows who his base is and why they vote, he also knows that the only way a republican can win any race is if liberals stay home and he can get enough racists riled up enough to show up in large numbers.

It is easy to steal local elections by cheating and voter suppression but to win nationally republicans actually have to go vote and that is what the Huckster is doing with this book tour, chumming up the racists.

    Well this IS embarrassing.
I have no idea what Beyonce’s music is like and couldn’t name a single song or recognize it if someone put it on. Same with Jay-Z, though I think he’s the guy that did that “I’m gonna knock you out” – song they play at boxing matches. That’s all I know about either one.

But then along comes this square Mike Huckabee and he’s all up on the current music scene. That’s the embarrassing part – that dork Huckabee is more up on popular music than I am….

    • allison1050 January 21st, 2015 at 6:50 am

He’s up on the current music because his grandchildren and possibly his children are listening to this couples music. Loved Tommy pointing out the 1 possibly 2 hit wonder Billy Rae and his embracing his daughter’s behavior and her street walker clothing (for lack of a better description) but that’s always going to be “different”, you know the usual bias.

      • burqa January 21st, 2015 at 7:49 am

The gals in my family were raised better than that. No way any of them would embarrass the rest of us by carrying on that way.
One would think since Huckabee was commenting on the parenting of other’s children, he’d have a thing or two to say about how Miley Cyrus was raised.

A while back I seen Melissa Ethridge jamming with Huckabee on his show.
I thought I was having an acid flashback.

Billy Rae had that one song what, 20 years ago or something?
These days I like me that Kenny Chesney, Luke Bryan, George Strait, Jason Aldean, Alan Jackson……My old friends look at me kinda funny because they know what a big fan I am of Iggy Pop and the Rolling Stones, and remember how it was me who clued them in to punk back in the day, and how slow they were to come around…
