[su_right_ad]Iowa Senator Joni Ernst, given a wonderful opportunity to speak for Republicans in response to the State of the Union address, missed something in her response: a response.

Before Obama was even was 1/3rd of the way through his speech, her remarks were released.

“A few moments ago, we heard the President lay out his vision for the year to come,” Ernst said,  according to the pre-released transcript and according to the speech she’s giving as I’m typing this.

“Rather than respond to a speech, I’d like to talk about your priorities. I’d like to have a conversation about the new Republican Congress you just elected, and how we plan to make Washington focus on your concerns again.”

Ernst went on to talk about jobs, just after Obama spoke of the decrease in unemployment.

“The President has already expressed some support for these kinds of ideas,” she said. “We’re calling on him now to cooperate to pass them.”

She spoke of our vets, which is funny coming from a party that supports cutting veterans’ benefits.

While she couldn’t have known what was the entire speech to prepare a full response, enough information was purposely leaked, so she could have responded to key points. It was no secret what initiatives the president was going to offer.

“We know America faces big challenges. But history has shown there’s nothing our nation, and our people, can’t accomplish,” which again was exactly the same thing the President said moments before.

“Just look at my parents and grandparents,” she said while way off topic.

I was looking at Senator Ernst, but didn’t see anything. [su_csky_ad]

She’s perfectly matched for the party she represents.

She’s just another conservative with a crotch fixation.

Think poor Joni picked up a campaign speech by mistake. What does wearing bread wrappers on your feet when it rains have anything to do with balancing the budget and free community college? Did anyone catch her camo heels she wore for the occasion? I sure hope she has a pair of boots for castrating those hogs. Squeal Joni! Squeal!

She didn’t mention that most of her young life was under Republican administrations.

I didn’t catch her speech. Was there a translation crawl or closed caption feature for those of us who don’t speak Wal-Mart?

No one wears bread wrappers on their feet unless they are on the Simpsons. They’d be shredded within a few hundred feet, what a moron. Where you do wear plastic is on the INside of your boots or shoes to keep your feet from getting wet and to keep them warm. We do this when we go walking in sub zero weather.

      ” what a moron”
Being a little hard on morons aren’t you?

      • Larry Schmitt January 21st, 2015 at 4:37 pm

And who do you suppose is gonna pay for all those bread bags? The 1%, naturally.

Seven different members of the GOP gave rebuttals to the SOTU address, including this loon! What does that tell you about the state of the party?

    • Larry Schmitt January 21st, 2015 at 4:38 pm

Does that include the TP response?

“Repeal and replace”-phony Joni Ernst’s Government Healthcare policies. Iowa doesn’t need a National Guard. Repealing Iowa’s National Guard Army, Air Force, Navy and Marines saves a fortune!

She’s not the only one who suffered under Reagan.
