[su_right_ad]Does he also know it’s sometimes very difficult to listen to the former Pennsylvania senator?

In an unprecedented statement to reporters during his flight from the Philippines to Rome, the Pope suggested that Catholics could take measures to limit the number of children they have. “God gives you methods to be responsible,” he said, according to the National Catholic Reporter. “Some think that — excuse the word — that in order to be good Catholics we have to be like rabbits. No.”

When he was asked for reaction to that statement on Hugh Hewitt’s radio show Wednesday, Santorum said, “It’s sometimes very difficult to listen to the Pope and some of the things he says off the cuff, and this is one of them.” The former Republican presidential candidate explained that with these remarks, Pope Francis was “giving his own opinions” and that he words don’t actually “reflect the idea that people shouldn’t be fruitful and multiply, and that people should be open to life as something that is a core value of the faith and of the Catholic Church.”

“Maybe he’s speaking to people in the third world, but the problem certainly in most of the Catholic world is not procreation,” Santorum continued. “I mean, in Europe in particular, you have birth rates that are only over, just a little over one for every two people. So this isn’t a global problem, and I don’t know what the Pope was referring to.”

Yes, it can be difficult to listen to the Pope, when he doesn’t say what you want to hear, when what he says doesn’t hew to your narrow idea of what’s “right.”

The thought that Santorum has reproduced several times is repugnant and disturbing.

Not good for the gene pool.

“…“reflect the idea that people shouldn’t be fruitful and multiply,…” that’s not at all what he’s saying. comprehension is not the rights strong suit. he’s saying be responsible. it makes no sense to have 10 children and you can’t feed them. people who have 3 children and run into hard times and need a little assistance, with say foodstamps, the right lose their damn minds.

Santorum has no ability to see the long game in politics. This is a common problem with modern Republicans and right wingers. The Pope is clearly thinking long term. Big goals. I’m surprised Santorum understands the Pope at all.

      sucktorum understands absolutely nothing

Santorum is worth millions. He is not a Christian and never will be.
The Prince of Peace in Rome is trying to get the place clean, but the greedwhores like Santorum are fighting tooth-and-nail to stay in.

Dumb ass. To most it was a form of social security and to most Americans it was viewed almost as a ticket to god and to other Americans if you could get at least a nun or a priest out of the herd it was like a 1 way ticket to god.

Good Ol’ Ricky. When he’s not obsessing about gay sex, he’s obsessing about religion.

I don’t understand all of the fuss on what the Pope said. The Catholic Church has long taught classes on natural family planning. This is what the Pope was referring to when he said God gives us methods to be responsible.

I can understand why Santorum would find the pope” very difficult to listen to”. After all, I’m pretty sure the pope doesn’t speak stupid, the national language of the GOP.
