The Ombia 1001 night cleanser featured a photo of what was once a Greek Orthodox church, then a mosque, and is now a museum. This really upset some people.

[su_thin_right_skyscraper_ad]The company apologized on Facebook:

Dear fans,
in terms of our liquid soap, there has been much discussion. We surprised the negative response of many of our fans and customers. We did not expect that both the design of soap and our decision triggers so many complaints. That was not our intention.

The scent “1001 Nights” is a changing variety of our liquid soap, which should be offered only in the winter from mid-December to mid-January. We took it out of the sale a few days earlier than planned after multiple complaints. Your opinion is important to us. Many of your views expressed and arguments we can understand. However, we would like to apologize for our decision, which is either politically or religiously motivated, and call all of our fans and customers to treat yourself with mutual respect and fairness.

First the invade us on 9/11, then they attack us in Iraq and try to create a world caliphate. Now they’re on our soap. Outrageous!

Pleas “like” us on Facebook

Eventually no one will be able to mention Islam or Mohammed or Muslims or mosques or the Koran or anything having to do with their religion for fear of some kind of retribution.

I thought the complaints came from the “other side”: religious bigots who were offended to see a mosque on the packaging.

I checked the link, and this is what it said: “The German company ALDI pulled one of their soap products with a mosque on it after complaints from Muslim consumers.”
