“It’s just one of those things that happens where everything lined up the wrong way,”

How many times is this kind of thing going to happen, and how many times will a cop say something like “it’s just one of those things”? How many times to I have to say here that it’s not just one of those things, it’s criminal negligence to leave a loaded gun anywhere near a child. And once again no charges will be filed, because “they’ve suffered enough.”

The only thing that truly just “lined up the wrong way” is that poor child had the misfortune to be born to imbecile parents.

It’s not just one of those things, it’s negligence. Yes, their pain is real and great but not sufficient consequences for their actions.

I have to wonder if the parent/gun owner will keep the gun their toddler shot himself to death with?

      No doubt they will.

I was thinking the same thing.

If the Sandy Hook massacre in Newtown, Connecticut, taught us anything, it’s that gun nuts love their guns more than they care about the lives of children.

Remember that idiot Joe not the plumber? “Your grief over the loss of your children does not trump my right to own guns.” (paraphrased, but the sentiment is accurate)

So where is the swarm? Why hasn’t the NRA e-mail tree sprung to life and flooded this post with outrage and indignation over the left wing persecution of this father?

Why is a toddler not in the back seat in a toddler size car seat? So here we have another incident of a young child dying because of the stupidity of an adult

If someone is driving the 25mph speed limit in a school zone, but still runs over and kills a child because either through intent or negligence the driver improperly failed to yield to a pedestrian, they are prosecuted. Why does not the same apply to firearms?
