Because that’s the job of schools. It’s the Gideon Bible, which lets students know just which Bible they should be reading.

The administration says that they will place a sign where the Bibles are located that says “Please feel free to take one,” followed by “These materials are neither sponsored nor endorsed by the Henry County School Board, the Superintendent, or this school.”

Oh yeah? Then why sponsor them?

ah hell, the gideons put the story book in hotels by the “hour” too. It’s some good poetry and some odd history but is a good read if a prof has the ability to teach as if it were just one more tale of yore.

Those are for education purposes, so they will of course be given the Greek New Testament and the Hebrew Bible.

I do believe the Quran must also be given away for free.

Maybe a good thing…nothing like a thorough read of the Bible to turn one into an atheist.

Exact opposite of what the men who drew up the Constitution would want.

What don’t the RWNJ’s understand about this?

      • Carla Akins February 6th, 2015 at 10:22 pm

That religious material doesn’t belong in public schools.

They have their own Bible and history book. I have tried to get my copy, but I have been rejected which kind of makes me feel good.

  7. Dwendt44 February 2nd, 2015 at 3:46 pm

Then why do atheists worry when placed in a school…. 🙂

      • tracey marie February 3rd, 2015 at 7:16 am

It is illegal to promote any religion, period. Why do the theocrats need to push their myths on others?

Do you have any idea how many children have been physically and mentally abused using this book? Millions…it should be banned anywhere children are.

        • theReaL*Lydia85 February 6th, 2015 at 10:10 pm

I agree, religous indoctrination of children should be a felony.

You mean besides violating the Constitutional principle of Church/State separation? It gives the impression of endorsement for one. I might convince some of the immature minds that the myths and fables therein are true or real. Doing this to the exclusion of other religious books or philosophy books might suggest that this one is somehow superior to all the others.

I see it as the same as porn or any other material not sponsored by the school…next the Christians are going to want to close the science lab to put in a chapel…brain prison, once the chains start linking you have to fight twice as hard to re-break them…why can’t these zealots leave our children alone. Don’t they have enough brain prison sponsored schools of their own to terrorize?
