[su_right_ad]Mo Brooks of Alabama believes President Obama belongs in jail.

Brooks, R-Ala., continued his crusade against President Obama’s executive actions on immigration reform, calling on the federal courts to find that the president’s actions violated the law.

If Obama defies such a ruling, Brooks said, then Congress should pass a contempt citation against the president for his “reckless conduct” and demand that he comply with the court’s decision.

He said that Obama would then drop his executive actions since he, like Richard Nixon, doesn’t want to “incur the wrath that comes with a contempt citation with potential fines and jail time.”

“Ultimately that’s the kind of power a federal court has to force the president of the United States to obey our immigration laws,” he added.

Yeah no kidding. Speaking of Bush, suddenly the right is all butthurt over executive orders on immigration.

      • Suzanne McFly February 4th, 2015 at 5:05 pm

Yeah but they don’t see anything wrong with an old white republican man legalizing immigrants to be with their families, but let our current President Obama (who I black BTW) do it and it is criminal.

It doesn’t matter what the President does, the right will scream for the opposite. POTUS should use this to his advantage

The right does not even understand the laws of our country or the constituional powers of the President .

  4. illinoisboy1977 February 4th, 2015 at 3:45 pm

While I may not agree with the President’s stance on immigration, I vehemently disagree with any effort to criminally prosecute a President for a possible overstepping of authority. If you think the President has overstepped his legal authority, make your case in the courts. That’s what they’re there for. A representative shouldn’t even HINT at the word “jail”, unless the President has directly and maliciously circumvented the Constitution, causing DIRECT and VERIFIABLE harm to the citizenry.
We could do with a little more civility in Washington and a little less rhetoric.

Is that a Sears law degree you got there, Mo?

  9. Obewon February 4th, 2015 at 7:42 pm

That’s funny! Because confused Mo Brooks, conflates the President with his own speaker of the Alabama House of Representatives, (R-AL) Michael G. Hubbard arrested OCT. 20, 2014 on 23 felony charges amid an extended inquiry into Montgomery’s political machinations. The arrest and indictment of Hubbard, who engineered the Republican takeover of the Capitol less than 4 years ago, came with just weeks to go in his re-election bid!

‘Mo problems for Mo Brooks as his buddy was charged with crimes including voting for legislation in which he had conflicts of interest and using his public office for personal gains. http://www.nytimes.com/2014/10/21/us/speaker-of-alabama-house-is-arrested-on-corruption-charges.html?_r=0
