[su_right_ad]Senator Rand Paul opposes Loretta Lynch for attorney general and vows, “she’s going down.”

Wednesday, in his office in the Russell Senate Office Building on Capitol Hill, Breitbart News watched as the senator’s legal and press team briefed him final time before the interview. Sergio Gor, Paul’s communications director, his press secretary Eleanor May and attorney Brian Darling were all present.

Paul asked the team about Sen. Ted Cruz’s (R-TX) question during Lynch’s Senate Judiciary Committee confirmation hearing about whether she’d oppose using a drone to kill an American citizen on American soil.

When Paul heard about her non-answer—she wouldn’t commit that the federal government does not have such authority—he was incredulous. Furthermore, Paul was appalled that Lynch came out in favor of President Barack Obama’s executive amnesty and the use of asset forfeiture—where the federal government seizes people’s property sometimes with flimsy reasoning, something even the Obama administration has offered slight opposition to—and then told his office staff he’s going to oppose her and aim to derail her nomination chances. “Oh, she’s going down,” Paul said to the room.

By going down he means she’ll be confirmed.

    • greenfloyd February 5th, 2015 at 9:32 pm

I hope not. In my personal opinion anyone who still support cannabis prohibition is either an imbecile or a fascist. Neither of which do I wish to see acting as the nation’s top cop!

I’m also disturbed with her history in asset forfeiture. But I still think she’ll be confirmed.

Hope he is right – I fully share his concerns.

OH look ↑ ! Another “private account” troll chiming in to give his 2¢ about the Libertarian hack’s courageous pronouncement that he disapproves of another black person that the Obama administration recommends. I wonder if Rand and his pube-toupee thinks her nomination is just more ‘affirmative action?’

      • tracey marie February 5th, 2015 at 2:07 pm

that one is an amazing mix of libertarian(bircher) and teababbler

      • Um Cara February 5th, 2015 at 10:30 pm

        LOL

I’ve been arguing against the appropriateness of our government assassinating our citizens for a long time, VJ. If you think it’s OK for her to be in favor of assassinating citizens because she is black, that’s on you. I don’t have a lower standard for black folks as you appear to.

The old adage about a broken clock being right twice a day fits Paul, IMO. Disagreeing with him just because he is Rand Paul is about as clever as the Republicans who are suddenly against vaccination because Obama was for it.

He’s resentful of Lynch because she’s not a “self-certified” lawyer/judge. It’s time for him and that dead rodent on his head to put a sock in it.

  7. fahvel February 5th, 2015 at 1:43 pm

what did she say about drones killing citizens of their own country?

  8. tracey marie February 5th, 2015 at 2:04 pm

let’s see, didn’t rand say the president DOES have the right to drone a terrorist on American soil regardless of their nationality, why yes he did. “going down” is this the way a person speaks when attempting to be President, using inflammatory and childish language does not make you sound intelligent and worthy of respect .

    F@&$ this idiot.

I had not heard of this woman before a couple days ago so I don’t know much about her. I have learned she is against cannabis legalization and therefore my conclusion at this point is she should not be approved as our next US Attorney General.

That really is a poor measure to base a confirmation on.

It disappointed me as well, but she seems smart enough to agree to re-scheduling marijuana. I mean, all that has to be done is to show any valid medical usage of marijuana, of which there are many examples, and it immediately disqualifies marijuana as a Schedule 1 substance.

She seems to be a very smart person, not easily shaken by idiocy or hammering questions.
Our AG doesn’t have to be perfect on every single issue, just smart and logically measured overall… which she is.

      • greenfloyd February 5th, 2015 at 10:00 pm

I disagree and believe legalization is a bellwether issue in regards to respect for freedom and the rule of law. If she doesn’t get that, how smart, or honest, can she really be?

        • Kick Frenzy February 6th, 2015 at 1:07 pm

Who knows, maybe she could be convinced otherwise if presented with enough facts?

But while I agree that it’s an important issue, we shouldn’t use that as the deciding factor as to whether someone is fit to be AG.
Sure, the AG should know better, but it’ll be several years probably before we could get a candidate for AG that would side with legalization.

It’s weird to me that folks who say they are liberals are OK with her positions. I mean, if you are in favor of assassinating your fellow citizens, caging them for weed offenses, and OK with the government stealing your property with only the barest hint of due process – you should come out as a kook rather than pretend that you are a lib. Frankly none of those positions are liberal OR conservative. They are just kooky & immoral (and probably fattening).

Fly that freak flag all you kooks! Get your kook on! Just quit pretending you are liberals, you stain the good name of liberalism w/ your immoral kookery.
