Republicans, so eager to work with President Obama, defied him by passing the Keystone Pipeline bill, and accusing the president of catering to “left-fringe extremists and anarchists.”

[su_center_ad]

[su_thin_right_skyscraper_ad]In a 270 to 152 vote, the House of Representatives opted to ignore Obama and approve the controversial pipeline. Some 29 Democrats voted with Republicansto approve the pipeline. Only one Republican voted against the pipeline.

However, that is not enough votes to overcome a presidential veto, which the president now has 10 days to consider.

Keystone next faces another hurdle in an administrative review that – after more than six years – may finally be grinding to its conclusion. The Environmental Protection Agency last week asked the Obama administration to revisit the project’s effects on climate change.

If Obama blocks the Keystone bill – as the White House has threatened repeatedly – it will be his third veto in his six years in the White House.

The house bill is identical to that passed by the Senate last month which means that Republicans – a majority of whom deny the existence of climate change – were now accepting it as a reality.

“Climate change exists. You’re saying that implicitly when you vote for the bill,” Peter DeFazio, a Democratic congressman from Oregon, pointed out.

The Greedy Oil Party “Jobs bill” would “create 50 (actually 39) permanent jobs”-(11/16/14) interview on ABC’s “ThisWeek”, Russ Girling CEO of TransCanada. http://www.politicususa.com/2014/11/18/msnbcs-krystal-ball-points-keystone-xl-pipeline-create-35-permanent-jobs.html

Ah, who needs clean water and land? Much more important to help billionaires extract billions more from America.

Besides, think of all those swell jobs the clean ups will create!

    Privatize profits, socialize cleanups.

    It’s the American way!

This is precisely why elections matter, especially midterm elections. If the emoprogs who have done nothing but bitch got off their butts and GOTV for Democrats last fall, we’d have a Congress in place actually passing bills that better the country as opposed to a Congress with this message bill crap that isn’t going anywhere.
